You know it's time to do laundry when....

It took me longer to train him to use a hamper than anything.

DH uses the hamper...to put his dirty clothes on top of. Is it that hard to lift the lid and drop them in? Hmm

I really can't complain. DH does laundry all the time. He leaves my stuff lying on the bed for me to put away but I'm still appreciative. I do have to remind him that cramming the washer full might save electricity but kind of defeats the purpose of washng the clothes.

I used the "if the clothes are left on the floor they disappear" system.  Every time he left his clothes all over the bathroom floor, I took them & hid them.  Eventually, he ran out of clothes & had to come ask me if I knew where they were.  Shooter has a tendency to swipe socks, & hide them if they are left out, so I told DH that Shooter must have taken his clothes since they were just laying on the floor.  DH had to search the house to find his stuff that had been scattered throughout.  He searched for almost two hours before he recovered everything.  Since then, DH remembers to use the hamper.  Heaven forbid that "Shooter" steal his clothes again.  Devil

Good, there's hope for DH afterall...I only have two more years of training to go!

Ahahaha BF does that too! Doesn't really bother me, though, since his hamper is in the hall closet by the washer, so when I get sick of looking at the mess I can just shut the doors. Stick out tongue It's just the principle of it that blows my mind! Several times I opened the hamper out of curiosity, to see if he was piling stuff on top because it was full.... but nope, inside the hamper was totally empty, while clothes piled on top were spilling over onto the floor! lol!

What kills me is when, after doing his laundry (we do our own laundry most of the time - reduces squabbles), he takes the clean clothes and just drops them in a heap on the couch. And leaves them there... for days and days. Just grabs the clean, wrinkled clothes off the top and wears them! He claims wrinkles "give the clothes character." Sigh. One of those "write it off, totally not worth it" issues for me.

Good thing I don't love him for his fashion sense. Wink

Edit: lest I paint an unfair picture of BF, he does periodically wash some of my clothes, and when he does he always tries his best to fold them for me because he knows I appreciate it. <3

LOL! Alex doesn't do laundry. Our washer and dryer are in the basement and he can't walk the stairs, deal with the dogs and carry the clothes without throwing out his back. So I don't ask him too.  But he does clean the kitchen for me so I guess it's an even trade..

Which reminds me.. I do need to do laundry.. Lol. My clothes pile tried to walk away the other day. When I picked up a shirt to see what was going on, I found Sandy under the clothes! LOL!

I dunno.  Might be part of the same recessive gene that makes it impossible for them to slip the TP roller out and put a new roll on.  There's a little sign in one bathroom that says "Contrary to popular belief, changing the toilet paper roll will not cause brain damage."  Apparently nobody here buys that one.

Must be because he's got that problem too!  Can I borrow that sign?

I'm spoiled now - we have seperate his and hers closets in our bedroom and DH does his laundry and I do mine so I never have to deal with dirty clothes that aren't mine.  Our new house only has one closet. :(

He does have the TP roll gene - but at least he takes a new one out and puts it on top of the old one. :P

Ahahaha Chuffy I do that too. BF and I are both equally lazy about the TP. Typically it only gets put on the roll when company comes over.

BF and I are both crazy messy. We get anal about different things, though, which keeps us in line. More or less. In general we only tidy up when we have people over. Fortunately we do that a lot, or we'd never be able to walk through the clutter in our house. Stick out tongue

I have one of those men too! What's funny is he'll put on a nice dress shirt covered in wrinkles, thinking he looks good....Seriously? You're contradicting yourself ya know?! lol

Oh I know! So funny! Or the scuffed-up dress shoes. Or dress shoes with white socks. Or slacks with tennis shoes. Or... sigh, they need "how to dress up" classes in general education. Stick out tongue

Fortunately since BF started working in Corporate America and has to dress well for work, he now at least is quite good at making himself look presentable for fancy occasions. The rest of the time, I don't care what he wears, so it works out just fine!

I finally did laundry because I was having to use beach towels instead of bath towels!
