Why am I in this thread? Ohhh, I buy the laundry soap and the hubby does the laundry.

I always have clothes, dang it.

He doesn't ruin your clothes by washing everything together????  That's a novel concept....

OMG mine would throw in his nicest suit AND dry it on high if I wasn't around.  Last week he was like "so, do I have to like, dry clean this thing?" "YES!!"  Don't their moms teach them anything?  Well I guess not his since the first time I went to their house I was doing my own laundry and when I went to clean the lint trap the lint was an inch thick.  I don't know if she ever changed it or didn't know it was there...I'm surprised the house never burned down!

That's how it is here too, Lies.  After my grandfather died, DH & the kids went home two days before I did.  I sent my clothes, including the dress that I had just bought for the funeral, home with them.  Something possessed DH to do laundry before I got home.  He washed my new silk dress with two pairs of jeans, four towels, & my filthy half chaps.  The dress didn't make it...

Wha....?! Some people just have no sense! Okay, silk dress with other clothes, MAYBE. But HALF CHAPS?

I patted him on the head & told him that he was "pretty."  (around here "pretty" means stupid)  Then I thanked him for trying, because at least he was attempting to help out.

So generous! Big Smile Lucky DH. Poor BF isn't brave enough to even touch my horse stuff, let alone attempt to clean it - far too "smelly," you know. It might be contagious! Confused Stick out tongue

That's what had to do the one time I asked DH to put a load of laundry in.  He ruined one the Wills best outfits.  I had to smile, thank him and say "hey, he'd have outgrown it soon anyway"

Edit - you WASH your CHAPS?  Yikes, now I feel really dirty!  I prefer mine all mucky.....

    - - -

Edit again - I did it.  I DID IT! I DID IT ALL!  I have NO WASHING left to do.  None.  NOT ONE SOCK.  Oh my, but it's a goooodd feeling!  The bed linen is clean, all our clothes are clean, the towels are clean, the dog's beds are clean.... I just have a couple of shirts to iron, but stuff that, they can hang in the back bedroom until they are needed.  I am FINISHED! Big Smile

    Here's a story for you...

DH tried to help and bragged all day that he had sorted, washed, dried and put away the laundry (normally I sort and fold and he washes and dries).  When I came home I asked why there was still stuff in the hamper.  His response...I just did mine, not yours now you have less to do (forgetting of course that I still had to do just as many loads since I separate everything out)!!  But I remembered my dog training and praised for positive behavior and redirected him to back my clothes.

Chuffy, I do wash my half chaps.  I don't mind them mucky, but when they smell so bad that you can't toss them back in your tack box, & you definitely can't put them in the car, then it's time to wash them.

Lisa, you're so much better than me!!!  I'm afraid that I wouldn't have been nearly as nice as you!  I would have been livid.

    • Gold Top Dog

Me too.  I've got now patience for "Pretty" people.  Not any more.  Tyler knows better than to touch my washer.  When I moved here a little ahead of him, my washer and dryer stayed there.  When I got back to get the rest of our stuff I had to dry one more load of clothes so I went to empty the lint trap, it was so full that the lint scraped off inside the machine and I had to get the vacuum hose down there to suck it out, lest it start a fire.  "Oh, I didn't know I had to empty it every time!  I thought it was like a couple times a month or something"  Not that I hadn't told him over and over, and asked him each time he's ever dried a load of laundry,"Did you empty the lint trap?"  "Of course, I'm not stupid."

He tried, when he realized that I was gonna be mean and snarly if he ruined my clothes and that I would insist that he have more than 2 piles (one being clean, the other dirty) he straightened up. Clothes are washed on sunday and wednesday, towels and other whatnots when ever needed, since I have about 40 towels it usually works out to once a week.

It took me longer to train him to use a hamper than anything.
