    Mindless Chatter Wednesday

I have meetings scheduled all morning.  Hopefully, I'll get out of there early enough to take the kids to the Central Park Zoo.

Hope that everyone has a great Wednesday.

I wondered why you were on so early, but then realized you are in my time zone right now (as if I own it!)

I did post at the end of Tuesday's about the Dobe in my dream.  He was brown w/blonde markings.  The funny thing, too, is that Dobes don't show up at the shelter here very often, and we don't have one there now.

Slept so-so last night.  I really wanted to stay in bed after the alarm went off.

I can hardly wait until Friday.  I have my annual mammogram scheduled.  I don't mind the thing itself, but I am so self-conscious about not having deodorant on beforehand.

Guess I better get to the grind.  After I check a few more posts!

We have this staff appreciation thing today.  I always go with my friend that works upstairs but now she doesn't work on Wed.  So now I have no one to sit with/eat with.  Can't really go with my team mates b/c they all are like best friends outside of work.  *sigh*

Good Morning all.  Another beautiful day here, but can tell that it's going to be HOT later.  Really HOT.  The air just has that feel to it.

One of my two front gardens is about half done now.  It's a large garden and just chock full of weeds that have to be clawed out. Really cool thing here....I just take my yard waste and dump it by the street and the city truck comes by and picks it up for me.  How cool is that?  They probably do a compost with all the yar waste, but it's so cool not to have to DO anything with it.

We aren't seeing hardly any skeeters here, but the flies are so bad that I ended up buying some livestock spray for my front porch.  I put one of those fly catcher bags up, and it draws them, but not enough are making their way IN and it smells like freshly expressed anal glands!  Yuck.  But, the fly spray is effective if I spray every day, and it has a citronella scent.

Speaking of.....I picked up a couple citronella plants at Wally World.  They are still sitting on my back deck.  Need to find a place to plant them and the veggie plants.  Has anyone used them?  Do they do anything?  They are a unique looking plant so I don't guess it really matters if they work, but would be nice......

Going to take a ride with DH this morning to pick up some equipment.  Will be nice to SEE him for a change!  Being in the house I'm here a lot, he's at the station, and at the moment, getting to MY desk is such a challenge that I don't see any point in trying.  DS needs to do some stuff to my computer at the office so I can start installing the programs I want but he seems to be taking a number of mental health days.....sure hope they work.  He's been rather cranky lately!

Hope everyone hs a great day!

I haven't used them but maybe I should plant some in my new flower beds that the dogs keep walking in to. I need to get some fencing to put up to keep them out! It's driving me crazy to see little smooshed flowers :(

I brought some cut roses in to work with me today. They smell sooo good. They are from my tree rose. Check them out (cell phone pic)

I'm pretty achy all over today from being on the road, herding, landscaping, etc. I shut off my hot tub so I could clean it and such but I still haven't drained the water. Maybe I will do that tonight. I could use a soak. I keep hesitating because I don't really want the tub on during the summer. But summer seems like it is never going to get here soooo...

Herding last night was interesting. Neiko can be such a mule head.

No kidding!  I'm still in North Face fleece over here.  Yesterday I went home for lunch to get a jacket.

I never skip wearing deodarant prior to a mammo. I always have my appt at the end of the day and that's just too long to feel comfortable. They always ask me before I change into the gown and when I tell them I have it on, they give me a towelette to wipe it off with. I've never had a problem.

I slept like a big baby last night too. It's been so cool that I just run the whole house fan a few minutes and it's really comfortable for the rest of the night.

I just discovered that one of our Board members should've been reappointed in 2008. The Board member should've pointed it out, but I feel really guilty for not catching it.Maybe someone will finally get the hint that doing this job alone isn't working. Yeah, wishful thinking.

You guys can have some of our HOT HOT weather if you would like!  I would be happy to send some heat your way!

My sweet little ladybug turned 6 months old today!  I can't believe she is already 6 months.  And she slept all the way throught the night last night.  From 8:15 until 7 AM when I woke her up.  I know that is probably a one time occurence but I will take what I can get!  I was totally panicked when I woke up this morning and realized I hadn't fed her all night.  I tell you what though, by the time I went to pump this morning, the side that hadn't been fed since last night was DRENCHED!  hahaha

She is trying really hard to sit up.  I bet she will be doing it by the end of the week if she can just figure out how to not lean back so much!

Oh, good thinking.  I guess because I always take an early morning appt, I shower, leave my house, get it done, and then am on my way back.  I always prefer morning appointments because then they're done - out of the way.  I'm a morning person, though.

I had a dream last night about Shari.  In it she was having the seizures that Bear did and I was trying "one last thing" before putting her down.  My brain must still be trying to sort out all those feelings.

I'm a morning person too but I look for any opportunity to leave work early. All my appts are near my house, so even if I'm done at 5, I'm home earlier than usual.

Sad - I still have dreams about our lab, Jake, and it's been 9 years. For me, it's the euthanizing part that haunts me. It's not that I doubt our decison. If anything, we might've waited too long. It's just the memories of that very sad day that still seem so fresh.

Glenda and everyone else that needs it.....For your fly troubles. I use the small sandwich zip lock bags and fill them half way with water. Pin them up in fly areas to keep them away. I swear by this 100%.  I keep them at each corner of the pergola and i keep about 6 inside the barn.  I NEVER  have flies in the barn and I should,  Just thought I would share that tip with you.

My friend's daughter broke her arm this weekend and had to have surgery (I think she's 5).  She is at work today after all so we're going to the staff event together, and I had DH quickly get a present and get well card so I can give it to her this afternoon.  Then it occured to me that maybe her son will feel bad since his sister is getting presents?  DH left and I don't have any money to buy something else here, but the present is a movie (Bolt) and a big bag of candy, so do you think I can just say that it can be shared?  He can watch the movie too and share some candy.  It's not like we got her a doll.  Hopefully that's OK....

Do you leave the ziplock open? Do the flies go in and drowned? I'm interested in hearing more since I've tried everything else and had no luck.
