Meaningless POLL: Laundry folding

    • Gold Top Dog

You didn't mention anything about how long it sits in the dryer before it gets folded.  There have been many times that I've had to "iron" my clothes with the dryer and then fold them and put them away.

DH and I do laundry seperately - he does his, I do mine.  He's another one of those "the only color is dirty" people and I often leave things until they are wrinkly and so when we did try to combine loads it really messed things up; I hate mixing the colors and he hates wrinkly stuff lol.

I don't fold much now as I hang shirts and pants and then throw all undies, pjs, and socks in my bin for those items.  Only towels get folded if I'm doign the laundry. :)

I dont seperate my clothes. I throw them all in one big washer at the laundry mat and dry the same. Like I said I hate laundry.

My vote was yes right into the basket but I wish it was the Laundry? I have "people" to do that for me. answer.

Want to come over?  I will exchange sock folding for a homemade Italian sausage lasagna?

Homemade Italian sausage lasagna sounds AWESOME, so yes, I will come over for it in exchange for sock folding. Big Smile

There wasn't an exact answer for me. I move the clothes to the bedroom where they reside in clean piles and dirty piles. Yeah, I despise folding and putting away clothes!

I don't do laundry, that is the husbands job, he washes, drys, folds and hangs everything. He leaves my clothes on the top of the dresser for me to put away. He too use to throw everything in the washer, had to tell him he was married now and there was no longer a clean pile and a dirty pile. He has come a lonnnng way.

Grocery shopping....I love grocery shopping, but I do it for the deals and the challenge.

I do a load of clothes each night, it goes in the main basket and then I seperate that into 4 separate baskets, mine and Tylers, Kale's, Kali's, and Kelci's.  Sunday night I sort each basket out into outfits for the week and put them in the hanging organizers in their rooms.  I wait till Sunday rather than doing nightly so they don't have the exact same outfits each week.  I put Tyler and my clothes away right away though...I'm not about to start sorting his into outfits.  Having outfits made up ahead of time is a huge timesaver in the mornings though.

My least favorite chore, by far is GROCERY SHOPPING.  How I loathe and despise it.  You have to touch your groceries SIX times before they go from the grocery to the cabinet.... talk about redundant.  (1. shelf to cart  2. cart to cashier 3. bag to cart 4. cart to car  5. car to house  6. house to shelves.)

I think someone should invent some sort of shopping cart insert that you take with you to the store, that sits into the store cart, which automatically calculates your groceries as you put them in.  Then you just load up the cart, scan your card, take it out, toss it into the trunk, bring it into the house and put it away.  A nice little LCD screen to tell me how much I've spent would be handy too...I always get nervous as to how much I've spent once I get to the checkout.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who doesn't separate laundry into whites and colors. Big Smile As long as I'm not using  chlorine bleach on the whites, I really don't see any reason to do it.  It just means washing and drying an extra load.

We have a laundry/utility room in our house in the basement. Its a pretty nice room actually, painted and usually organized. I either fold right out of the dryer or I pile all of the clothes into the hamper and take it upstairs to fold on my dresser.  I kind of like doing laundry. It's an easy chore. FH NEVER does laundry. In the seven years we've been dating I don't think he's done laundry once (well except for the few months he moved out west and I wasn't there to do it for him, actually I went to visit him and I did his laundry while I was visiting. ugh).

My dream is to have a large walkin closet so I don't have to fold anything and can just hang everything up.

I do not separate UNLESS I am washing something new that has not been washed before. New dark/red clothes bleed all over everything. I've ended up with enough pink socks for Elias and dh already thanks lol.

Big response on this quiz. Proof that while people may hate housework...they love to chat about how much they hate it...LMBO.

Please tell me why I thought I could wash my new dark fushia sweater with my new white sweater? Perhaps in a moment of confusion I thought the delicate cycle would magically solve the bleeding problem.

    IT DIDN'T.

I think maybe you should invent that! I would so order one of them. I need something like that at the grocery because the calculator in my head does not work when there is a 3 almost 4 year old talking at the same time!

I don't separate either, except as noted above with new clothes.  I used to for years and years because that's how I was taught but one time I just got a wild hair and decided to just throw stuff in willy nilly and let the chips fall where they may.  Hmpf, all that time I was separating for no reason.  I hang stuff up straight from the dryer and throw the folding clothes on the bed and tell (er, I mean ask) DH to fold and put them away.  He never washes clothes because apparently he had a bad experience with a washing machine as a child.  He seems terrified of the whole process.  LOL  I always tell him he better learn before it's too late and I'm gone.  He says he'll just buy new stuff or take it all to a cleaner.  Well, let's do that now!

I really don't separate whites from colors but I do separate lights from darks. DH wears dark blue shirts and pants to work and if light colored linty stuff goes in with that stuff, it takes forever to lint-roller it off. DH does almost as much laundry as I do but he likes to get a big bang for his buck, so he stuffs the washer too full. He'll take everything out of the dryer and put all his stuff away and leave mine nicely laid out on the bed. I asked him why he doesn't put it away and he said he doesn't know where it goes. How do women figure this stuff out but men can't? Hmm I don't complain though. I'm just glad he's willing to help out.
