    Mindless chatter - Toozday

Wondering if Glenda has good news this morning?

Waiting for pics of Pirate's new limo!

Not much exciting here.  All the bosses are in a meeting together today and not in the office, so it'll be quiet.

I am SO dragging my butt today.  We had wicked thunderstorms all night long which kept me awake most of the night.  I hate not being able to sleep because then I get bored and start mindlessly snacking on anything and everything in the house.  Can anyone say CHEESE ?!?!?!?!? LOL  I don't know what was louder - the thunder, or Jamison's snoring !!!

The sun is shining! The sun is shining!

I heard a nasty rumor that the clouds and rain are coming back this afternoon, which I hope is untrue. The good news is it will be mid 80's by sunday............yeah!

Cheese, yummy cheese.....Made a pasta salad over the weekend, rotini multicolored pasta, green pepper, red pepper, Bermuda onion, cheddar cheese, Monterey jack cheese, mozzarella cheese, black olives, salami and italian dressing...............mmmmhmmmm......

I wonder if one can live on cheese and black olives?

You can never eat too much cheese, IMO.  Black olives, not for me, but I love green olives. ;)

I made it out of Phoenix just in time.  It's supposed to hit 100 there today.  Of course, we will be in the 90's so I guess it's not really much cooler here.  Twister has a small lump on his flank, it feels like a fatty tumor to me but I'll take him in and have it aspirated for my peace of mind.

That actually sounds like an ideal diet to me.

Man is it depressing with a capital D at work.  Anytime anyone is called into a meeting we all stop breathing.

I am soooo tired.  Riley has not mastered the "should not get out of bed" thing now that she isn't in her crib.  I tried laying down with her the past couple of days and all that's done is made me exhausted since she doesn't sleep.  Finally, this morning around 4;00 I put her in the bed and walked out.  About a 1/2 hour later I went to peak in and she was sleeping in front of the door.  She can't climb back into bed since it is too tall.  Hopefully she will adjust quickly or I am going to fall asleep at work.  I think I am just going to put her in there, shut the door, and put in ear plugs.  I know it sounds harsh but she's working us and she knows it.  I need sleep!

Things are moving along and by the end of the day I should have some news to share.  In the meantime, I need to haul butt and get ready to leave by the end of the week.

Corky has decided that she really, really likes people.  She's always in a hurry to get to the door of the crate and try to hop out when it's opened, and if I put my finger through the door she hurries over to rub up against it.

Eldest DS has decided that I'm bat s*it crazy and that my husband is NO better.  His wife was giving him holy heck or picking on me for helping a poor defenseless little duck!  LOL!

Guess I'll be known forever and always as the crazy lady with too many critters who just can't say no.  Hmmm, not a bad way to be remembered in my book!

Lisa, you probably already realize this, but don't get in the habit of laying down with Riley - it'll be very hard to break her of wanting you there.  BTDT!  I finally put a small clock radio in my son's room when he hit this stage - it worked wonders.  I'd set it for 30 minutes on low volume and he'd be out within 20.  Then again, even I get bored into sleep listening to talk radio...LOL

You are so right!!!  I am almost glad that she doesn't settle down when I am in there.  I am thinking about getting a little cd player/radio with the sleep timer like you mentioned, I think that's a great idea.

I'm in an access training class today. It's as fun as it sounds. However, it's nice to get out of the office today.

I don't get Lily. She gets up at all hours of the night. I crated her last night and she was ticked so she banged on the water bowl to get my attention. I ignored her which led to more banging and I ignored that too!

DH is herr grumpmeister again - it must be male menopause - ugh

Lily let your mom sleep!  Bugsy has always been an out for the night guy but we have had some weird things from him in the last two weeks.  He has slept on his bed in our room for a year and half or so but he suddenly won't go on it or if he does he gets up and goes to a bed in the family room or downstairs.  I've switched the beds around and same pattern.  Finally the other night he slept in the bedroom with us but on the floor next to me.  I treated him to go on his bed which he did but as soon as he could, he got up and went next to the our bed again.  So now I am putting the his bed next to our bed and he settles but goes around wandering the house and eventually comes back.

He is a strange character I say!

Sassy rarely sleeps thru the night in the house. She has a very nice dog bed in the garage and a doggie door to go to the dog run area, so when she's restless, we usually put her out for the night. We've tried coaxing her to stay in but it usually meant getting disturbed throughout the night, so now when she wants out, we let her and say "night-night" :)

Lisa, when my sibs and I were Riley's age, my mom let us work it out too. She was very big into routine though - we'd all get baths, and then a glass of milk while she read us a book, we'd all brush our teeth, and then lights. out. No arguments, no nuthin. The 3 of us turned out just fine :) I still actually follow the same routine - shower, read, brush teeth, bed. I've phased out the milk.

I like my new car, a lot! I had to go switch the insurance and lucky me it's only going up $7 a month.
