Mindless chatter monday

I got awesome news last night that I forgot to share.  Not that anyone knows her(yet), but my niece was just offered a season with an American National Womens Junior team in Rhode Island.  From what I can make of it, they have asked her to come there this summer for tryouts, all expenses paid and $25,000 to play for the season.  No school, just full fledged women's hockey.  They watched her at Nationals this year (which they won for the second year in a row) and have decided to offer her a spot.  The team is run my Boston Bruin alum I think.  And its a league, as far as I know, only surpassed by the Senior team which is the American National team that plays in the Olympics.  Oh and they take a celabratory trip at the end of each season, next year is Italy.  Again all expenses paid.  Wahooo!  I'm pumped for her.  We are waiting now for Team Canada to come knocking.  It would be so amazing if they did in the next few months since the 2010 Olympics are in Vancouver, but even if they don't I have a feeling she'll be on that team soon enough.

Does anyone know if a Canadian can play on the American Olympic team?  I thought you had to be a citizen.  She's doing her schooling down there if that matters.

Tell her congrats for us. I have done done anything productive here at work today except some insurance quotes. I have spent all day playing on the puter. LOL
