Mindless chatter monday

    Mindless chatter monday

Its 6 am and lily woke me up. Why couldn't she wait 1 more hour? Now the cat is basically on my head while he cleans himself. He is a sloppy cleaner too. Spit flies every where. I'm so grossed out!

Eww, Julie you need a dog to protect you from the cat, wait you have dogs.  Try a pillow over the head next time. lol

I didn't sleep well at all, and when DH got up at five, I went back to sleep for an hour.  Still sleepy.  Monday isn't shaping up too great at this point. Staggering off to take a shower and get ready for work.  I wish I worked in a sleep lab.

It's going on April, and we have a heavy snowfall warning tonight. Gah, where is spring and when will it GET here!

I work all day today, I like the shift though so it'll go by fast. Need to start collecting boxes for the new house.....see what we can get packed up nice and early!

Oppps.  Maybe you're getting OUR snow Kim? I believe the Texans are responsible for starting it all.  I woke up to 8 inches of the not so lovely white stuff yesterday.

Supposed to be in the 40's all week so hopefully it's finally done.  Please let it finally be done.

Need to get it in gear and get some stuff together for Mom's b'day which is actually today.  Am sticking to my original plan and still taking her out to lunch todya.

Yawn.  I did not want to get up this morning.  When I got home last night my E light came on (didn't have $ with me to stop and get gas).  The BF thought I was going to be late (which I probably was) so he took my truck this morning and filled it up so when I was ready to leave I had a full tank :o)

My best friend called me yesterday...well actually it was a very interesting version of phone tag.  She texted me but my phone was dead, so then she called or messaged the BF but I wasn't with him, so then he texted the priestess, since I was at church and she gave me her phone to call him so that he could tell me to call my friend... It would have been amusing but unfortunately she was calling b/c of bad news.  They had to put one of her dogs down.  The others attacked it and the vet said even if they patched her up she might not make it.  This was one of the first dogs she got.  She was the one that it was agreed would come live w/ me if anything happened to my friend and her husband.  Crying  My friend was so upset, all I wanted to do was be w/ her, but they moved to KY and I can't just drive over.

I really didn't want this weekend to end.  It wasn't a spectacular weekend, but I didn't want to come back to work today.  I have a ton to get done, & a short week to do it in.  DH & I are going to Vegas Friday, & I really want to go shoot some bluebonnet pics on Wednesday.  Have I ever mentioned that I love having a job that doesn't care when I'm in the office as long as I meet my deadlines?

Amanda, where are you seeing bluebonnets?  When I was in Fredericksburg weekend before last we saw only a few very scattered ones. Sad  We went 281 to 290 and I haven't seen many South of us either.  Maybe you Austin people are hoarding them all.  LOL  I did see some for sale at Home Depot yesterday.  I am sore and tired from all the yardwork.

Glenda, don't blame all Texans for that snow, we sent you sunshine but the North Texans seemed to have other ideas.  Sorry you guys can't seem to catch a break in the weather.

I made it to work but now can't face all the mounds of work waiting for me to get busy.  Is 8:30am too early for a nap?  I have a big bid document to read and I just don't feel sharp enough to do a good job.  Nurse, coffee, stat.

We were in Belton yesterday, Jackie.  There were some nice patches along HWY 317.  The drought has really decreased our numbers this year as well.  Crying

I have discovered Red Bull (sugar free).  Boy oh boy does that give me energy when I need it.  Coffee in the morning, I'm a coffee fiend.

We saw bluebonnets galore on the way to Austin (from Magnolia) on Saturday.  But, the closer we got to Austin past Brenham...barely saw a one.  Thought that was odd.

Yeah, our hailstorms and tornadic potential turned in to major snowstorms for everyone else.  Sorry Glenda!

For those of you not lucky enough to know what Amanda and I are missing this Spring.

Can someone please send me some bluebonnets?  I wanna bluebonnet.  I have a couple feet of snow I could exchange for it.  Nothing fresh today, but residual that just won't melt.

Tyler took Kali up this morning to the ER.  It takes forever and ever and ever to get in to see my doc so we'll just go the ER route.  She wasn't worse this morning, but she wasn't really better either so I hope they'll give her a script for antibiotics or something.   Thats all they'll do right?  The swelling is still there, but her cheek is softer than it was yesterday.  I wish I'd be here when they get back, and I keep putting off going to work incase they make it back right away, but likely it'll be a couple hours.

Onyx ate a plate full of chicken bones last night.  Cooked.  She skarfed them just as I got the babygate and thought, Oh Crap, I left my bones on the desk(nose height).  I don't think she chewed them.  I've been watching her like a hawk this morning and last night, fed her some bread too, but she seems fine.  I think she'll be ok, she's tough with a gut like stone.

I heated up day old coffee this morning.  Its not bad, a little stronger than normal, but I can't justify making coffee just for one cup.  I'm lazy.

Jackie, after seeing that pic, I'm not sure that I want to take pics of our small patches anymore!

Barbara, when I lived in Houston, I used to drive to Navasota, or Brenham to see the bluebonnets, & Indian paintbrushes.

For those of you not lucky enough to know what Amanda and I are missing this Spring.

Wow - those are beautiful!! I can see why you're missing them.

Today is a holiday for us (Cesar Chavez Day) and I'm more than thrilled about it. It's not a holiday for many people, so I plan to take advantage of it and go do some shopping. I didn't sleep well last night either and woke up a little before 7. I was going to go back to sleep but remembered I needed to put the trash down at the curb.  It's still pretty windy but I think it's supposed to die down later today.

I'd have to say that the Indian Paintbrushes mixed in with the bluebonnets are my faves.

Its funny for us to see all the folks who stop on the side of the highway to take pictures.  They get their children, their pets...find a nice patch, plop down and start shooting.  Some people get pretty extravagent with their camera gear too.  Hey, not saying we haven't done it.  LOL

A few springs back DH and I took a nice Harley ride out to the Chappel Hill area and plopped down for some shots.

Dawg could have told me my hat was crooked.  LOL

Amanda, where are you seeing bluebonnets?

Ours up North are already out...all along I-30....not hardly any down south by I-20 where we are...but they're out! Gorgeous. Smile
