    Mindless chatter, weekend edition

Brrrrr.  It feels awfully cold this morning.  16, feels like 6, feels like a lot less than that to me.  Not snowing....yet....but we are supposed to get buried yet again.

Today was one of those rare days when the bed just felt PERFECT.  Not too warm, not too cool, Sheba curled up along my left leg, the DH behind me and actually snuggling......I pushed snooze a whole bunch of times today!  Usually I get too warm in bed and have to start stripping during the night, but last night it was actually PERFECT.  And, darn it, I had to get up to go to work.

Can someone explain this to me?  All I have to do is SIT UP in bed and the receiving line of dogs starts forming.  today, ok, there was the alarm, but usually there isn't, or I wake up before it goes off, but, I can be absolutely silent but the act of sitting up triggers some sort of chain reaction up front and everyone KNOWS I'm awake.  I don't even remove the covers before I sit, so I'm stymied as to how they know I'm up, and how the heck they know its even ME who is up.  Dad gets a different morning reception than I do.  Mine is rather joyful AND vocal no matter how much I ignore them they just can't contain themselves.  Sigh......

Off to get ready for work.  Have a great day everyone!

In my house, just rolling over in bed when it's close to morning wake-up is enough to sound the "yay, she's up" bell.

So, I really love the new furniture but can't believe how much bigger it feels. It looks a bit larger in the room but mostly it just feels bigger when I sit on it. My feet don't even touch the ground and I feel like Edith Ann in the big chair. It sure is comfy though and I could easily sleep in either the recliner or the couch. I was worried about how leather would feel but I LOVE it! I need to go find some toss pillows that add some color though.

DH just left for work, so I have the whole weekend to myself. I wonder if I should go shopping first or clean house. Sometimes when I get busy cleaning, I'm too tired to go shopping afterwards. Hmmm...decisions, decisions Hmm

Glenda, the receiving line starts when I move in the bed as well.  If I don't get up immediately, I'm met by Bevo getting in my face & staring with a very pathetic expression.  Shooter & Schatzi alternate whining & running zoomies around the bedroom.  Chyna snorts & sneezes, & Brinxx sits in her bed banging her tail against the wall.  Even the cat hops out of his bed & comes over to see if it's time to eat yet.  Once I am awake, there's no chance of falling back to sleep before taking care of everyone.

Cathy, it's always shopping first, & cleaning the house later!  Big Smile

DH is going to have to go to Blockbuster & rent videos or something.  He & some friends are replacing our yard fence that was damaged.  If I am going to be stuck inside, alone, then I'm going to need something to entertain me.

We went to sleep last night very late... Sleep But we have to work.

Have a nice day and weekend everyone!

oh man a new leather couch would be AWESOME!!  going to S.F. this weekend. thankfully my dog sitter friend is well & can take care of the pups tonight. get to see my sister ( i hardly ever get to see her during school season), she's moving to a new house out there, i think it even has a yard! so that means MAYBE next time i can bring Akyra:) I know that her & her BF have wanted a dog for awhile, it exciting that they might have the option to get one!!

Its a daily habit now throwing the tennis ball for Akyra, i need to get a pic of her 'worn out' face LOL. she totally has that glazed over working border collie look, big long tongue, eye all squinty, and ears back. she's so cute. I've noticed her hair between her toes grows out way long now, I think it's from me trimming it in the summer time. Guess i have to trim it year round now!  I love sitting out there with my coffee & the chuck it thrower & not having to touch the icky ball anymore!! Nice that my arm doesn't get worn out as fast, I can't throw very far anyways, so that thrower thingy is priceless for me.

last night i made the mistake of eating a snack pack pudding, some almonds and some reese peanut butter cups all washed down with some newcastle beer. big mistake. lol my stomach HATED me! (ya so much for healthy eating!!)  Had another nightmare about black belt training, its weird i have one it least once  week. Guess that shows me how stressfull that time in my life really was!

Bella is always up & at em when my BF gets outta bed, when i sleep in Akyra stays in the room with me, even if the baby gate is open to the rest of the house. She'll sleep in as long as I do. I woke up with two cats on me this morning. I love my bed cats.

Ewwww Ick! but I can't talk. I made ravioli last night and decided to put a pesto sauce on it. I know that pesto is made with olive oil, but it seemed like it was floating in the stuff. Unfortunately, it tasted really good and I ate all of it. I just put some jeans on and they feel tighter than usual, so I'm blaming it on that meal alone :(.

I cleaned both bathrooms and washed the bedding and remade the bed. I read last night that you should put your down comforter in the dryer for 10-15 min's and run it on high heat to kill dust mites. Well, I had to cram the thing in there and I don't think much of the heat even got to the inner parts. I'm guessing they didn't mean a king size comforter in an average size dryer Confused

It's so nice outside now and I really should do some yard work but I'm off to do some shopping instead.

I thought I was pretty much over this cold thing but today I feel like I've been hit by a truck again. I have been sleeping on and off all day and have no energy to do anything. At least the dogs are being somewhat lazy today. I had a long list of to dos today though and nothing is getting done.

Yesterday was a serious rollercoaster. At 4:30 I got a call telling me there was a black tri aussie crossing the freeway then running north on the shoulder. Omg I was terrified it was bobbi and she'd get squashed before I got there. AC got a bunch of calls and so did the sheriff. They were all out there looking. By the time I got out there - no dog. I started to look outwards from the xway. About an hour later, AC called me to say that someone picked up the dog and it was a male. The owner was on its way to pick it up. So I went from terrified but happy that she was alive to worried I couldnt find her to disappointed that it wasn't her but happy the dog didn't get killed. crazy.

I'm so excited i finally got my BF to give up his 'office' room in the house. Its a teeny tiny room that he has his desk & computer in, but he never uses it since he got a mini mac for his 'man cave'. I've been asking him about getting his stuff outta there so i could make it my sewing room. I'm quite messy when i'm doing a project which means i'll have fabric & scraps all over the living room ( where my machine is right now). I wanted that room cuz it was small & i could heat it with a small space heater, where as i freeze my butt off inthe living room.  So this morning ot my suprise he was clearing all of his stuff out of there.  I have 2 reg size bedrooms in my house and the little office, he's taken over one room & the office as his 'mess' rooms -he's a very messy guy (i.e. has a closet& dresser that are almost empty & his wardrobe is on the floor. yuk) , so that enabled me just to be able to 'close the door' and not see it.  But he wa setting it up for me!! crazy! I'm so excited, we're leaving the desk in there so i can have more room to sew & cut on.I'm gonna have to post a pic of it when we're done.  So i guess I'm getting my mini 'woman cave' hehe.

Amanda take it reaaaaaaaaaal easy - pneumonia can linger for ages if you don't just get a lot of rest!

My foot feels so much better for wearing this ridiculous boot.  I guess it keeps the tendon from moving at all.  I am impatient and want to get back to my routine.

I feel very sleepy and think I'd like to take a nap Sleep

Cathy I'm glad you love your new furniture, I did laugh at your Edith Ann comment! :)

Amanda, I second Karen't reminder to take it easy, if you don't you will be forever getting well.  Lots of movies.  I got back from Triple Crown a little while ago.  My friend's dog got his Rally Excellence title.  There were some really neat dogs there and I saw some friends I hadn't seen in a while.  It was a nice day.  We left before any of the showing started so I didn't get to see a ton of Dobes.  There weren't any as beautiful as Bevo.:)

Time to walk the dogs.  Have a good evening everyone.

eta: Karen, I'm so glad your leg is improving.

I had a wonderful nap and feel revived again. Now maybe I can stay up later than 9 tonight.

I shouldn't be surprised, but I had no luck finding new throw pillows. I went to Marshalls and Tuesday Morning and as much as I tried to like what I saw, it just wasn't what I had in mind. That's a problem for me. I get something in my mind and then go on a search for it. It's often really frustrating and another good reason why I wish I could sew.

We're supposed to have a doozy of a storm coming in tonight and lasting for a few days. Since they've already asked for 20% reduction in water usage, I'm not complaining.

That's why I made sure to go outside and pick up poop this afternoon ... before it starts.  Funny thing - last week I got it up on Saturday afternoon, didin't pick up Sunday or Monday because of the rain and on Tuesday morning there were nine piles out there.  What dog poops nine times in two days???  He has to be inviting his friends over to use "his bathroom." Surprise

I'm not sure I want to trade but sometimes we can go 2 days and only find one or two piles. Who eats that much poop you say? That'd be Buffy Ick!

since we are on some Ick! topics I think I'll add that when I went downstairs to make dinner I found a trail of rabbit um 'pellets' in my living room.  I guess they were stuck in Bugsy's jowls and dropped out as he was walking, just gross. Then he went outside and came back with this filthy pigs foot/leg I had given to him earlier to occupy him while he was 'helping' DH work on his car.  I thought he ate it but prissy pants can't eat outside on the grass so he buried it to thaw out.  God love him DH cleaned it off and got out B's towel that he eats his bones on and Bugsy just ate it now.  Just yuck.  I will never again give him something to eat outside, period.

Oh crap.  It has snowed since about 9 this morning.  And it's not ready to stop yet.  Crap.

8" already on the ground, more coming tonite, more coming tomorrow.  Crap. Visibility SUX.  Crap.

After work I had to go hang out at the county jail.  Waited an hour and 20 minutes after dang near needing a dog team to GET there.  Did I mention that the roads suck too?  Inmates are supposed to get 30 minutes a week with visitors.  Only on Saturdays from 9 -7.  So if you don't wait, you're kinda screwed until the next Saturday.  But the group that was going in when I arrived got WAY longer than 30 minutes while I sat there fuming!   When my turn FINALLY came, I was in and out in 5 minutes, and most of THAT time was waiting for the guard to come and get the check and taking it to the other side of the glass to get it signed.  I'm wondering if I can just go in and ask them to have him endorse the next check without waiting to actually SEE him.  Or waiting until next Saturday to do it.  What a pain in the ***.

Apparently plowing the county roads is NOT a priority up here on weekends.  I did not see ONE single plow in my travels today.

BUT, on the plus side, DH had a doctors appointment yesterday and his blood sugar and cholestrol are both GREAT.  And when I picked up his new RX's today, the copay was only $4 for THREE months, where before it was $4 minimum for ONE month.  With this new health care program we get all our meds for $4, or $10 if we need a brand name, and that's for 3 months at a time, so that's a major savings.  Last time I got the 90 day supply it was almost $200.

And, it's not cold in here, so thats another good thing.  And I think that I'll enjoy a nice glass of white wine tonight.
