Poor little Aspirin. I hope the doc can figure something out for him. A brace sounds like a good idea. Feel better soon, princess.

Ouchy Aspen... I'm so sorry (I totally know how are you feeling) *kiss*

Peanut (Aspen) is resting comfortably now.  He did tell me to thank everyone for the rubbies & luvinns.  He says he doesn't get enough of them here & that I'm a mean mommy.

I know that stuff like this happens.  I just didn't expect this.  He's always been the tough & feisty one.  Of course I won't give up on my guy.  He's my boy & I'll do anything I can for him.  I've gotten all kinds of Ortho recommendations from people on my Pap boards.

Amy, I remember the braces that Brenda had on her guys.  Thank you for remembering them!  I really haven't had time since we got the diagnosis to do any real research but thank you so much for the link.

Jean, you're right, he is EXACTLY a puppymill/pet store dog bought on a whim.  When I got him I knew a little bit about Paps.  I guess my rescue/adoption of him was an emotional one but I did know that he would fit into my home & lifestyle.  I just guess I was kind of thinking that this wouldn't happen to him since last year @ his wellness visit he was proclaimed "Tight".  Now to have one this bad?  I guess it's part of aging & things aren't as elastic as they once were.

We also happen to be pretty lucky that the U of Penn Vet School is only about an hour away.

Thanks everyone for your good vibes.

Oh, before I forget.  Thanks for mentioning his back, Amanda.  It turns out that it's not a slipped disk but arthritis.  This is one reason why I'm getting a second opinion.

Annie, this is GREAT news!  Back & neck issues are terrible to deal with, so arthritis is a great diagnosis.  It makes things much more managable.

Yeah, when his chiropractor told me it was arthritis I nearly kissed her.  I was so happy.

That's great about his back! Hope the poor little dude is feeling better soon. Rascal sends some sympathy kisses.

Aspen, you have to quit with the acrobatics and scaring your mom half to death.

    (((Hugs))) for you Annie.

Just a little update.  Thursday we have a second opinion appointment with an Orthopedic surgeon.  I got his records & am a little concerned about some of his bloodword numbers.... His Alkaline Phosphatase are marked high @ 226.  The reference range is 5-131 U/L.  Any guidance with these numbers?

This will give you some general info but your Vet will be your best source.  Please don't worry too much till you find out more.  Aspen, sweetie, please get better.

VERY cool link, Jackie.  Thanks.  I'm past the panic point now it's just sucking up whatever I can about my boy.
