    Info on dog tags

    Two questions:

    1. Where do you order your pets' tags from?

    2. What info do you put on them?

I'm currently looking at Boomerang tags, which I found in a search I did on this forum. As far as info goes, I've got:

    (front) NAME OF DOG

    Ph #1

    Ph #2

(back) IF I'M ALONE, I'M LOST!

    I'M MICROCHIPPED!

    Chip #

    Chip company ph number

Any opinions? Too much info or not enough?

I use Boomerang tags and think that you've got great info on there - something I thought of for my next tag (should I ever need a new one) is the rabies #

    Walmart

    2. What info do you put on them?

Their names, city and zipcode I live in, my phone number, jj's mom's house phone and cell phone number, and the vet number.

I ordered mine from a flyer I picked up in the vets office.  It has his name and my name, address & phone #.  I didn't put any info about the microchip on there because he wears the *Home Again* tag anyway.

I got mine at Walmart - for like $4. They've held up very well.

The just have the name and phone number right now. But - I want to get new ones that have their names, my # and microchipped. (my foster cat has that on her tag). They all wear their county tags too, and Casey wears his 24petwatch tag (not that anyone could catch him if he got out!)

I got my tags from Boomerang.  I LOVE the quality of them.  They do not wear out because they are stainless steel.  I may be partial but I think you will not be disappointed with Boomerang.  They are fast & fairly inexpensive.

I have the the same information on my tags except I only have my cell number on them.  I figure if any of the guys are loose, I'm out looking & I have my cell with me.

Pirate's is a boomerang tag! They are definitely the best quality I've seen, and I see a LOT of dogs on a daily basis. Right now it just has his name and my phone number, but I think when I order another I'm just going to put my cell phone number and NEEDS MEDS.

Cell phone number for sure.  If you are traveling and your dog is lost anyone finding your dog and calling your home won't get you.  Especially if your on vacation or such.

    We have Red Dingo tags.

On the front, it has the dog's name, our last name, & both DH & my cell numbers.  The back has "reward if found" on it.

For everyday use, both girls wear a tag with Loose is Lost, their name, my cell number (also my home number)and our city/state.  They also both wear rabies tags and city licenses as required by law.  Z has her microchip tag still, Maggie wears a Delta Society tag herself.

For SAR or off lead hiking, Ziva only wears a collar with my cell number embroidered on it - the risk of tags catching in the brush is too great to risk.  Maggie's never off leash in the woods so her tags remain on her at all times.

I'm not sure where Max's tag right now is from. I need to order more because we change the collars around a lot, and I just want to put one on each collar. The current tag has his name, our last name, home phone number (I need to put a cell on the new tags, and I think the others have that) and address.

I think the new tags will be last name, address, cell number. If I'm out looking for the dog, I won't be home to answer the phone, but will take my cell, in case someone calls to tell me. My friend's dog got loose once, and someone found it, and had it at her house for a few hours. The home number was on the tag, so she called there. She didn't leave a message, so when my friend's dad went into the house to check, there was nothing. I think eventually, he walked in while she was calling. We had been out looking while he was locked in someone's bathroom so her dogs wouldn't pick on him.
