    It's not even 9:30 a.m. and I'm ready for a nap.

Me too Joyce. I haven't been outside, but it sounds nasty and I can't seem to get warmed up. A hot bath and then a nap sounds heavenly but I really need to clean house but can't seem to get moving. I feel for those racers and anyone who was anxious to go watch them. I just saw one of the coaches on the news and he said this race could have a lot of problems because of the rain and wind. I hope no one gets hurt.

It is 11:56 am and I am ready for a nap!  B was downstairs wretching at 4:45 so that is how my day started.  He still isn't feeling well but is just chilling.  I just gave him a bath because I think it may be his allergies kicking up, poor guy.  He won't go in the room where he puked even though I cleaned it up, used the carpet cleaner and did spot removal.  he just looks in there and his ears go down.

Then to top it off he went outside to eat grass, decided to bury his kong and must have gotten bit by something because a big circular thing popped up under his eye - which is now dissipating. sigh

Nice and sunny but quite a bit cooler here and nothing else to report

    Happy Gotcha Day Blue!!

I woke up this morning with the intentions of going downtown to at least watch part of the marathon.  When the alarm went off, DH reached over, turned the alarm off, & said "Stay in bed, I'll make it worthwhile."  I stayed in bed! Big Smile

We did take the dogs to Starbucks with us this morning.  Then we stopped by the park so that they could play a little.  Now, everyone is tired, & I'm trying to convince DH that there is nothing wrong with taking a nap before noon!

Julie - If you're at all congested, I highly recommend Mucinex D. It's the only thing that really helped me when I was so sick. The "D" is the one that has sudafed in it and I usually don't do well with sudafed, but I was desperate and it worked. It' s not cheap, but it's worth the money.

Happy Gotcha Day Blue Blue Blue!

Me, the "no-Valentine" as I wrote it yesterday, found myself in the craziest Valentine's date last night. DH came home oh-soooo-excited with free tickets to Monster Jam and a bag of chocolate hearts. The son of a friend at work was going to be there racing and he invited us. I have to say, that's the last thing on Earth I would sign myself to go, but DH was very excited and we haven't had lots of opportunities to go out lately so we went. I had to climb a ton of stairs with my bad knee ~lol~ I'm so destroyed today!!

The show was loud and crazy and they had the funniest truck I have ever seen (nor that I have seen a lot) it was a dog, a dalmation! ~lol~ and every time it jumps over the ramp the floppy ears fly! I have to say it wasn't as bad as I thought and we had fun Smile

I had a lazy Valentines other than working for my normal 8 hours.  Chilled at home, DH made steaks and potatoes plus garlic bread (yummm), enjoyed the downtime immensely.

Today I got up late, DH worked on the coffee table he's putting together from scratch (should be done next weekend!!), and then we went to drive by a house.  The house is on .66 acres (!) and less than a mile from a beautiful lake (still trying to figure out if there's any hiking around it) - we're setting up a time to visit tomorrow.  It's a little above what we wanted to spend, but for 2/3 an acre and a 3 year old, 1400 sq ft house it's still not a bad price - I think it's a foreclosure.  Here's hoping it wouldn't need major work inside - it looked nice outside and appears to only need fencing to make the exterior what we want, though we'd likely plant trees for shade as well.

Heck yes - what's for dessert?

I managed to get most of the housework done and took a nice hour long nap. It's still cold, windy and rainy I wanted to go do some shopping but I think I'll wait until tomorrow and just enjoy the day at home.

I don't know why they couldn't be dinner, works for me. lol

I had the best day!  My brother and I went to watch the sheep dog trials at our local livestock expostition.  It was very fun and there were three Australian kelpies entered, I had never seen that breed working.  The ones we saw were very focused and did well but a BC won the day.  We spent a little time chatting with the winner in between runs and he is a true class act.  Very nice guy with very nice dogs.  All in all it was great to watch a non retriever dog event ,lol, and herding dogs are so awesome doing their work, no wonder people get "hooked".  I am tired but in a good way.  My dogs just about sniffed their nostrils up into their brains when I got home, the smells on my shoes must be like the World Book Encyclopedia to dogs.

LOL I just went in my living room where B is sleeping and the whole room smells like rosemary.  We had some girls drop off girl scout cookies earlier and his tail was whacking into the rosemary topiaries I have on my front steps vigorously and now it reaks of rosemary.  Good thing I like the smell and he has his tail curled up under his nose so I guess he likes it too.

I decided to cut myself off the beer and pretzels and make a nice quesadilla - some aspects of DH being away are fun Stick out tongue

We've been so lazy today!  DH & I have spent most of the day curled up on the couch.  It's been a very nice, laid back weekend.  I really don't want to go back to work tomorrow.

Shooter is being snuggly.  I wonder what he's torn up...

My cousin came in town this weekend and we worked on cleaning out the garage all day.  There were tons of treasures from our childhood.  It was a lot of fun going through everything actually.

That's so cool.  When my best friend's mother was selling their family home of 40 years I helped clean it out we had so much fun.  That is when we discovered she was addicted to the "Home Shopping Network" ,Big Smile  We found all the gadgets even a "Flobie" (sp?) - remember them?Hmm   She told us she bought it to do their fathers hair. Smile We found all kinds of cool stuff and memorabilia of their childhood it was a fun weekend.

Beer and pretzels?  Yeah, why not, although I prefer wine and cheese with chocolate covered strawberries for dessert.....

So today turned out great.  I took Thomas with me...he who will be a year old tomorrow and he was a MAJOR hit.  We stopped and got Mom a miniture rose plant in a tea cup and a cuddly stuffed animal, which cheered her up incredibly, and she adores Thomas.  Was bragging like a proud grandma.  "You know he's only been walking for two weeks"  "He's JUST a year old tomorrow!"......

One of the ladies has advanced Parkinsons.  She typically is all random motions and hand flapping.  Today, she had purposeful movements, mimacing Thomas. The first time I have EVER seen her make purposeful motions.  One of the men is an old curmudgin, but today, he was singing to Thomas, luring him closer, making funny faces and hand motions, encouraging him to dance.  One of the younger women, late 50's early 60's has twin grandsons who aren't geographically close and SHE was in 7th heaven!  Everyone was completely enamored of the little guy and he was all the talk at dinner.  Thomas is one of those always happy babies who even if he falls down or gets a little boo boo, a simple "uh oh" in a happy voice makes him laugh so it's really hard not to fall for him.  Of course he was worn out and sound asleep before we ever got out of the parking lot.......

Karen, you and I had the same dinner (although I had diet coke instead of beer.  It was Cadbury MiniEggs for dessert.  Jimminy crickets.. I can never get over my temptation for Cadbury mini eggs.

Luckily, I can actually taste them today.  The day I bought them was the height of this wretched cold thing I've had this week.  I was so happy to see them in the store, and I'd felt so rotten, that I "deserved" a pick-me-up.  Opened up the bag, scarfed a few... and realized I could have been eating Mentos for all I could tell- no sense of taste or smell.  What a bummer.  Today I can breathe out of one nostril.. but sadly this cold made its way into my chest which means unpleasant coughing on top of runny nose and no voice.  I sound like a long-term smoker, look like a drugged up hooker who stayed out working too long, and with no sense of smell, I really hope I didn't stink like anything other than shampoo and deoderant.  (haha!)

Major discovery last week.  Lani introduced Gracie to the wonders of CHICKEN hotdogs.  I've owned this dog for 5 years and she would never accept any of the hotdogs she's been offered.  One bit of chicken hotdog, though, and the tide has turned.  Bought a package of her own for training.

ETA - I keep meaning to say - luvmyswissy, I adore your new siggy!!  It should be a Christmas card that someone could purchase.  It's gorgeous!  LOVE IT!
