Is she still around? LOL.

Not really ever noticed anything about it...but then I typically zone out or switch to ESPN during the "entertainment" section of the news.

This is the story I'm talking about....on ABC News.

I agree.  I think it's ridiculous and it's all they're talking about on Entertainment Tonight and similar shows.  It's no wonder so many celebrities develop eating disorders.

Jessica Simpson is still a human being -- and she has feelings and emotions just like everyone else.  And just like many other women, I'm sure it's not easy for her to stay super skinny.  Not everyone is meant to be a size 0.

I think the particular photo that they are portraying everywhere was just an unflattering shot.  I haven't seen any other ones where she looks anything but thin.  I'm not a fan of her music, but I don't think she looks fat at all.

I don't see the concern either.  Fluctuations in weight aren't unheard of for anyone.

I agree!  If it weren't for this thread I wouldn't be part of the gossip.  I think she still looks great.

I can't say I watch the kind of programmes mentioned so...*shrug*. If they weren't talking about her weight it'd be her hair or clothes. Male OR female celeb, she's in the news again...and that will probably help her off the chili cookoff circut. So might not be all bad.

Gossip and such is part of people...and even the non famous do it.

I think the only bad publicity for a celeb and many politicians for that matter, is no publicity.  I couldn't think who she was at first, since I don't keep up much with the in crowd, is she the one who was dating Tony Romo? 

I think so....unless he's moved on...which if he did it would be front page news here LOL.

I know ladies get upset at the targeting of women...but I follow sports and it is NOT just women...the men in sports get ridden JUST as hard for everything from appearance to their play, injuries, their weight, their choice of partner, off the field issues, EVERYTHING ntohing is sacred and everything is public fodder.

THE biggest objectification of young men is coming up very soon...THE NFL COMBINE...and you know I will be watching. They are discussed like chunks of meat with legs the entire time by other men...their body parts praised or torn to shreds...by other men. There is NOTHING like it out there and I just love it.

I advise all women to watch if they get NFL network...it'll make you feel at least a lil' bit better.

Agreed - her clothes were ugly and ill-fitting.  As a matter of fact, the last time they called her fat was when she was in love with John Mayer and *gasp* wore similar high-waisted pants.  In all honesty, yep, she's heavier.  So what?  I had the same reaction - "why is this news?  Who cares?"  But then it occurred to me that people don't listen to her music, really (ok, maybe little girls do??), but TONS of people like to look at her.  I think she's beautiful and I like to admire her hair and makeup and she's got such a pretty smile, etc.  So, I guess for all those people who only notice her because of the way she LOOKs, this is somehow news.

She gets picked apart plenty - years ago it was her stupidity, now its her weight.  People are watching because she is beautiful and entertaining to some.  I *really, really* hope she shrugs it off and doesn't feel badly about herself.  Nobody deserves to feel badly about themselves for gaining weight.  The media "teaches" us otherwise - why do we buy into it??

That's what really got me I think....I worked really, really hard to be 140 and a size 8! And to hear so many shows call that "fat"....urgh....

 I think she looks fine! I would rather her be at the weight she is now than be 90lbs. but, i bet if she was 90 lbs people would say she's too skinny. I say, as long as you're healthy then who cares if you're not a size 4?

Why do they always have to publish really bad angle photos when making their claim about someone being fat?  Yes, she's meatier than she used to be but that doesn't even come close to being fat.  Ugly outfit?  Yep, but again, pick on the clothes because gosh knows they like to do that.  So dang fickle!!

Remember when Tyra Banks got called out for being fat after photos of her in a bikini surfaced?  She then went to People magazine and did a story on "Is THIS fat?"  I died; girlfriend tackled the collective media head on.  Can photos be airbrushed?  Absolutely but I'm thinking she's too honest to lie about that.  But even Miss Ty-Ty called it like it unfortunately is when she crowned Whitney America's Next Top Model.  She said Whitney will be considered plus sized in the 'industry' but to the public she's totally average.
