I can't stand baths.  I guess its the boredom thing, sitting in the dirty water thing, I don't know.  I have tried it a couple of times but it feels ineffecient to me.  I don't have the patience to wait for the tub to fill up with water.  Typically my showers range between 5 - 8 minutes max.  3 monutes if I am not washing my hair.

I do love to read though!  Typically on a weeks vacation I need to bring between 7 - 8 books with me.  I also love to listen to books on tape.  I have a book at work for lunch, a book I read before bed, a book I listen to during commute.  I don't get them confused as long as they are different plot lines.

Depending on the length of your shower, showers often use more water than baths.  Don't believe me?  Plug your drain while you shower and then see how full it is when you're done.

I don't read in the shower, ex-Navy, so am an in-and-out kind of girl.  I occasionally like to enjoy a long hot bath if my water heater cooperates - and usually only when I'm shaving my legs.  I do, however, feel compelled to rinse with the shower after the bath to make sure all the shaving cream is washed off my skin, and to wash my hair.  I may read when I take a bath, but I like to sink way down into the hot water and my arms get tired trying to hold the material up.

A hot bubblebath, a good book; some scented candles and a nice glass of wine.  Ahh, heaven.

As long as the cat doesn't decide to be all lovey dovey, roll around the edge of the tub then accidently fall in.  That'll ruin a nice relaxing bubble bath.  LOL

A very wet, very muddy Ben once helped himself to my bubble bath while I was grabbing a towel - also a good way to ruin a bubble bath LOL.

I hate baths and shower to get clean and get my day going...I don't know how to relax and baths simply stress me out.

So having said that - I read at work...yup I can finish a book in a week at work. Jodi Picioult is my current favorite author. Anyone ever read Poisonwood Bible? (not by Jodi).

I work in a real estate office so it's pretty slow and my mind doesn't deal well with down time (i.e. sitting in a bathtub). Heck my feet don't even relax when I'm sitting knitting (toes are always tight).

The place where I think it's really comfy to read is the spa (hot tub) since it stays consistently hot. Toss in some scented bubbly stuff and put a glass of wine on the edge.  The only problem with it is that it takes too long to heat it up in the winter, then when you get out you have to dash  behind  the fence around the pool equipment to turn everything off. That really makes the whole experience kind of a  PITA.

Done that.  Barely came up to my ankles!  Also depends on the size of your tub and the strength of your shower.

This has been really interesting! I personally don't like showering or taking baths. I have to make myself do it- every, single, day... I don't know why it's such a chore for me!

When we were living in the campground I swore I would kill for a bath.  Then we moved here, and the water is so HARD and full of rust that I feel really gross taking a bath.  Once in awhile I'll spend an hour or so really scrubbing the whole tub enclosure so I can take a bath and not feel like I'm sitting in crap.  The last time I tried a bubble bath, cotton blossom, which has a strong clean linen scent, all I could smell was the rust.  Sigh.

If we aren't in a house SOON, and if we get some economic stimulus $$, we're going to get a hotel room, just for a night, one with a nice BIG tub and clean water!

I've tried reading in the bath, but never the shower.  It's relaxing to read in the bath.  I usually settle the girls down with special bathroom bones, and we all relax and enjoy some downtime.

I also take a book with me everywhere.  I read during breaks, if I'm riding as a passenger with someone in their car, before bed, wherever I can fit it in.  I love to read.

I don't read in the shower or bath, I would ruin my book. I rarely take baths, too time consuming.  It's interesting to me that so many of us are such readers.  I read everywhere and any chance I get.  I have multiple books going at the same time, so I will not be without something to read, in the car, at home and at work.  Seems I'm not as weird as I thought I was. LOL
