does your dog wear a coat in the winter?

I'm just curious....if so, what type?
what about boots in the rain/snow?

mine wear coats in winter. i want some boots for moca to use in the rain (it has been raining since a week now ) because she has a tendency to get that fungal infection (can't for the love of god remember what it's called now) and i have to keep her feet dry..

i dunno what you mean, when you ask about what kinda coat though..

My dog wears a raincoat when it is pouring out.  Without  it she doesn't want to go out, when I put it on, we can walk for an hour in pouring rain and she doesn't mind it.

Yep, my german shepherds grow their own coats for winter wear!   [:D]Sorry, couldn't resist that!

When we first moved from GA to MI (in Feb of all times) my pretty little white girl needed a coat of sorts and I used a sweatshirt for her.  And, her sensitive little tootsies wanted protecting so I made her some leather booties........

Shoot -- my Florida dogs (who just aren't used to anything below 70) need a sweatshirt or something in the winter (particularly when we'll be out a long time doing pet therapy or something inactive yet 'outside').

oh! haha... fleece coats. moca's coat is a santa coat. she always get's laughs from the neighbours. jasons is really ugly, but it was cheap and i figured as long as he's warm he doesnt care.. :)

Schmee wears a sweater in the winter when we go for walks. She won't go out when it rains...maybe if I could afford to get her booties, she would, but she'll hold it for a long, long time when it rains. [:D]

Anything cooler than 70 and Zoe shivers.  She has sweaters, jackets, rain coats, and many hand sewn outfits to keep her warm.  Some stuff is yarn, some fleece, some faux suede, some cotton.

Ha, Glenda! I'm right there with you! LOL!

My dogs are appropriate for my climate and don't require coats. They do sometimes wear booties if we are walking any distance and it is -30 or colder.

Stevie dog did wear a coat in the winter because he was a rottie/dobie mix with a thin coat and too old to keep outside enough to grow a thicker coat. It was just a plain fleece coat. Stevie has left the building, however. [:(] I'll see him at the Bridge.

Well, winter here isn't really cold, but I use raincoats throughout the year so I don't have three large soggy dogs running back into the house after bathroom time. I do have two hooded jackets that Brown and Grey wore when it snowed here and the few times it snowed when we lived in MS, but that was mostly to keep the wet slush off of them since snow here is really wet.

Marlowe has a little sweater for when it gets really cold here. He's got a pretty thin coat and his little tummy is nearly naked. When it gets below 40 in the winter, he wears a sweater.

Both dogs have raincoats. Marlowe's is a yellow slicker and Conrad's is like a horse blanket, but water-repellent. It's really more for me than them. We walk rain or shine, and two large dripping wet dogs are not something I want in my house.

Max has a pretty thin coat, but CA winters aren't all that severe.  He wouldn't need a raincoat because I don't walk in the rain. [:)] He does have a sweater from Old Navy, where whoever makes their dog clothes obviously knows that dogs don't actually have arms.

Yep, Ella has hardly ANYfur so she has a winter coat she wears when it gets below 40 or so here.
She also has muttluks for snow [:D]

Wings wore a rain coat when it rained because I didn't want her dripping indoors while working. Mal will for the same reason, and if we lived up north where there was salt, they'd have boots so they didn't get that on their feet. Coats for warmth? Don't need 'em.
