    Mindless Chatter - Tuesday

I did a presentation yesterday in front of 80 people. I try to keep my composure but I still get nervous. I could hear it in my voice. I really need to work on that. I have presentations on Wed and Thurs in front of 140 people too! Yuck.

I'm trying to decide if I want to drive my own car or take a company car up north for work. My car has satellite radio, which is great when you get up north because there are no radio stations. OTOH, I hate to put all those miles on my car! What to do.

Dakota has won the crate battle. It is just not possible to crate her without spending hundreds of dollars.

Aw shoot! We posted at the same time. I'll copy and paste mine over here...

    ETA:

Tuesday! I have the morning off, so I got up early and walked Pirate through the residential part of town along the river...yay. It's one of my favorite places to walk him. There are only a few cars, and the houses over there are my dream houses! My BF calls them maintenance nightmares. Most of them are super-old, but I just love each and every one. My favorite is a big, white house with two stories, and wrap-around porches on each story. It's on 1 and 1/2 acres! And across the street from the river! AND IT'S FOR SALE! Lol, in my dreams. I'll have to bring my digital camera and snap some pictures of it one morning.

Do you have an ipod or anything like that Julie? If so you could take the company car and use it when you lose the radio.

I finally have a very happy Lillie. She loves TOTW. I have started adding cottage cheese and salmon to it. Just a spoonful of each but I have never seen her lick her bowl clean!!! Of course Joker loves it too but he eats everything even stuff that is not supposed to be eaten. He was trying to eat a coke can yesterday. Crazy pup.

It's TOO cold. I hate cold weather. I so need to move to Florida or Cali. I have lived here all my life and still hate it when summer is over. But the dogs are loving the weather.

I have a GPS that has an MP3 player in it which will play through the car radio. I can always bring that (well I'll be bringing it anyway for the GPS). So, I don't really need the satellite radio.

Julie, Bevo is terrible in a crate too.  He took the wire crate apart to let himself out.  When I fixed that issue, he bent the bars & let himself out.  We went to a plastic crate, & he promptly chewed through plastic on the side.  He took the ex pen down, & when we fixed that, he jumped out.  I've given up crating him, & just gave him a bedroom of his own.  We took the bed down, & tossed the matress on the floor for him.  He loves his room, & I can confine him there if need be.

We had a minor incident on this mornings walk.  I'm not really sure what happened but Bev's leash broke.  As soon as he realized that he was free, he went careening off down the sidewalk.  I recalled him, & he came back immediately...with a very guilty look on his face.  Now, he's in a silly mood.  He has tossed a cuz, & a few stuffies up onto my desk.  At least he's in a good mood, & seems no worse for wear from his morning zoomie.

I am at work against my will.  I seriously considered taking off today, but since Bev has a vet appointment tomorrow in Houston, & Thursday in College Station, that I am taking off for, I figured that I should come in today.   At least Bev is here for a little comic relief.

Yea for Bevo - having a zoomie, going to work with mom and no pain today!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Woohoo!

As for crating in the car I'd have to buy a big old truck or van to put it in so no way - Bugs was a nightmare in the back seat - he escaped from all the seatbelt harnesses I tried, so I went to a station wagon and put a divider gate up.  He doesn't have any head room but he's happy enough back there.

I am loving the cool weather as is the crazy beast - we went for a bike ride this morning and he ran for most of the three miles.  Came home and did some more zoomies and never even worked up a pant - guess the cooler weather and perhaps a lack of allergens has him feeling good Big Smile He's been really clingy lately seems weird - not used to him giving a poop where I am.

Julie great job on the talk and good luck on the others - it is hard for everyone really - i love public speaking and don't get nervous but I do get sort of anxious - you know like right before the big game - you just want to get going.

Nervous/anxious energy is a positive if you use it to your advantage!

I have been off since thursday :)  but I am back at work today.  blaaaah.

I NEED someone who speaks and/or can read and write italian.  I am having a lot of trouble with someone from ebay.

I am also very worried about my friend, she has been having massive headaches, and was told by her doctor that her brain is swelling and creating pressure, she got her results back from her MRI, and it said it was okay, so now she has to go for a spinal tap.  And she is getting married in November!  ack!

Hey Julie!  When I present to a bunch of people my throat can get tight and then my voice sounds wierd.  I actually do head rolls and stretch my neck and yawn stretches for my jaw before I start.  If I notice my voice getting tight I visualize all the muscles in my neck and throat relaxing, pause in my speaking, make some eye contact and smile.  That usually gives my voice time to "reset" so to speak.  I'm sure that you are doing great and nobody even notices!

The boys are at day care today so it was an early start and our anniversary dinner involved some beverages of choice yesterday.  Needless to say, I'm feeling it today.  I ended up taking him out to a very nice steakhouse and the service there was so great that we really enjoyed ourselves.  Ah well, we only celebrate our anniversary twice a year so it's worth it!

DH is going away today so I'll have the house, the tired dogs and my Halloween Swap box of goodies to myself tonight.  Big Smile

Jewlieee - public speaking I believe is one the highest rated 'fears' in americans, so good for you!!!

I vote take the company car!! lol save wear & tear on your own personal vehicle :)

I went on a cleaning spree last night, and of course the BF didn't do anything besides play video games & watch TV.  Ugh. I had to clean up the whole area where his rats live ( yuck) they pee all over the place, it's really gross & I'm constantly cleaning.  Heck, four dogs is enough, now I have rats peeing outside of their cage. ugh.  then that turned into mopping the floor, then cleaning & wiping down the inside of the fridge, which turned into wiping down the lower half of the cabinets in the kitchen.

Tired today. Maybe it was all of that cleaning. going to attack the bathroom tonight.  Also trying to remodel my smaller bathroom - ugh. seems like I can never just 'enjoy' my house lol, always something that needs to be repaired.  Although the bath remodel is fairly urgent as our only shower is OUTSIDE, and it's getting cold!!

Took Bella & Akyra for a bicycle jog this morning, Bella is just a little spaz these days, she has so much pent up energy, she needs this jog!! lol

Now I'm at work listening to my favorite podcast 'more hip than hippie' LOL

Your BF is like mine....maybe the Great Motovator will work.....LOL

So, lunch break, I ran into an 'old friend' who I really dont care to see(very very long story). And then a man that my Dad works with came into Taco Bell for lunch too.....we talked about Sam and bulldogs for about 20mins before I left. It was weird. School work continues to be a drag....and I'm using the forum as a reward for getting 2 assignments done. Click - treat. LOL. I'm going to find my old bike and pump up the tires tonight, me and Sam are going for a bike/run after the gym. Unless its to dark. Then we'll just play fetch in the yard. And I'm going to take lots of tylonal for this killer headache I have.

     oh man whats that??? LOL.

I can never find what motivates him. He says he wants a cleaner house - but the only thing I can get him to do is the dishes every once in a while. I'm really trying hard to change my habits - including making sure the dogs get their exercise.  Just seems like the most important things to him are video games & TV.  well i guess I should look at the bright side - he has a job, and actually goes to it!! LOL

Sex. LOL. Think back to your other post about his-non-dog-walking. LOL. I agree thou, my BF has a job, he hates it, buts its income. I'm currently in need of a job, but I must wait until I go back to public school(geeez, I **never** thought I'd say that I miss that place).

Today has been one thing after another. DH left at 6 for a business trip, then I couldn't get back to sleep for that extra bit, which makes me so cranky. When I took the dogs out, Luna got through the fence (in a spot that I have been bugging DH to fix) and by the time I had her back, she'd eaten something (likely a dead animal). Then a work emergency exploded for an hour. Luna has puked up nasty spelling green watery goo, with, what looks like pieces of skin and fur in it Ick!  -- thee times. Then the oven repair man came, but had to order parts to fix the stupid thing -- which we got on Saturday!

I am ready to crawl in bed and call it a day.
