She appears to be OK (rectal temp 102.3, healthy gums, behavior is normal), and hasn't puked in the past few hours. I gave her some pumpkin to see if we can start working something through her system, and am hoping it doesn't come back up. If it does, we may be off to the e-vet.

Well, atleast she's not puking(crossing my fingers and knocking on wood). Poor girl. I dred the day that Sam finds something dead.....he'd roll in then come home and jump in my lap, or maybe bring the dead thing home.

    Minor rant...

We live in the city.  Literally, we live less than 10 minutes from downtown Austin, so I can't, for the life of me, figure out why we have possums coming into our back yard.

DH & I let the dogs out in the back yard for their last potty break of the night, and Shooter heads straight into the hedges.  He comes out, dragging a possum, which is bigger than he is.  As soon as the other dogs see that he has a new "toy" a game of tug-o-war ensues.  Suffice to say, the yard has pieces of possum all over, & the dogs are covered in blood.  DH had to clean the yard, & hose off the dogs, before they could come in.

This is the sixth one that they have killed in the past 4 months.  I'm not even sure where these things are coming from!

Amanda I was up in NY a week ago or so - suburban NY but still there were never in my days raccoons around - now my sister's lab has killed a few and we saw one in the road(kill).  Seemed really odd to me.

Sorry about the tug of war mess but I'd be glad the possum was dead.  Bugsy has only ever seen one and wow it sent him into a frenzy Surprise

Be glad they are not rabid as around here there have been quite a few rabid fox, possum and raccoons
