    Crackberry -- Now I understand......

I got a Blackberry Pearl a month or so ago.  At first I just used it as I had my regular cell phone, which was kind of dumb.  But then, I loaded some games.  Then I set it up for all my email accounts.  Then I started managing my calendar really well with it.  Then, late last week, I discovered I could download books onto it.  I'm lost.  I need an intervention.  I can't leave the thing alone!  It's books or brickbreaker!  I don't even talk to friends anymore, I just text them!  It's consuming my every waking moment!!!  Help!!!!!!!

LOL!! I have a Palm Centro, not a Blackberry, but I understand.. Especially the texting. I have 1000 texts per month, and this month I ran out about 2 weeks into the month. They still don't reset til Oct 7th. I'm dying here. Like, geez, to talk to this person I actually have to call them? But what if they're busy? What if they don't want to talk right now? What if they try to keep me on the phone for an hour? hahaha... I've already gone over by 80...which is 8 bucks, I think. It's sooo hard to not just pick up my phone and text people, and I try to tell myself "This only costs 10 cents", but that adds up REALLY quickly. Sigh...

I pay for my grandson's phone (he's 15) and he has a lot of rollover minutes and unlimited texting. I'm surprised he doesn't have huge blisters on his thumbs.

haha, unlimited texting is awesome.... I would soooo be in trouble if I didn't have it.

I text all the time - I rarely call anyone anymore! It's just more convienent - then you don't get trapped in a longggggggg conversation. I don't like talking on the phone though, so we have like no minutes per month - which is fine, we all text =]

I have unlimited texting and unlimited AT&T minutes (between my AT&T phone and other people with AT&T phones) but my work's phone is Verizon, and my boss talks for MINUTES ON END. I went over last month...uh oh.

I'm resisting getting an iPhone because I'd end up an addict, and never pay attention in class, or in the car, or basically anywhere, LOL. I happen to know iDog doesn't work with the iPhone, luckily. I tried in the Apple store.

hahaha... I've thought about adding the internet to my phone, but I know that would just end up bad... I don't pay attention in class as it is!

Yeah, I think it's something to do with Safari. Safari barely works with this forum from my MacBook, LOL.

I had Blackberry Pearl, but I replaced it with a Motorola Moto Q.  I love my Moto.  I can post here, & all of the other forums that I frequent.

DH & I have unlimited minutes, texts, & internet usage.  We'd probably go broke if we didn't...

I can't stand texting. I don't know why. I'd rather just ring someone up and get my point across. I am addicted to my crackberry though. It's a good thing that work pays for it or I'd be downloading all kinds of games. As it is I have to stick to the free ones and I play those like mad. I can't use idog with it though. Or yahoo groups. I can surf just about anything else though.

Not Blackberry, but I got the sidekick and it's just sad how addicted I became.  I've had unlimited texting for years even w/ a regular cell phone, thank goodness.  I hate calling people (I'm starting to think it's a generation thing) for the reasons already mentioned...what if they're busy, or don't really want to talk to me, or.....

Most of places I like to check out work just fine on it, but sadly...iDog does not Crying  I can read posts, but I can't log in so I can't post.

But yea, totally addicted.  I think I'll probably always have a data phone now.

Are there meetings, or 12 step program, for this?  I can have my phone remind me to show up....

ROFLMAO!!!  My daughter started a small fire in my kitchen yesterday while I was out.  She TEXTED ME!!!  LOL  We have unlimited texting too thank goodness and my internet plan wasn't too bad and I got the Pearl for $30, what a deal.   I can read and post to iDog with mine but it's terribly awkward so I don't bother.  My big downfall is these books.  It was awesome, I had my car worked on yesterday and was able to read my book right there on my little phone, too cool!

BTW, it's amazing how many places the powder from a fire extinguisher goes when it's used for a tiny toaster fire.  Hmm

Where do you download the books from?  Like I need more reasons to stare at my phone.....

$30 is an awesome deal.  If I would have waited a few more months mine would have been much cheaper but my old phone was on its last legs and having some problems...

I downloaded this one and it has worked perfectly for me.

Wow - I just don't get it.  I have a cell phone but did without for a couple of years.  When we decided to go with just cellphones (we had VOIP before) I just wanted a basic phone, no fancy gadgets, and I don't do text messaging.  In fact I hate it - probably b/c I know several people who will text while I'm visiting with them and I kinda find it rude - that and if I need to tell someone something I'll just call.

I'm so plain, my phone isn't even capable of taking pictures - though I could go online and download ringtones or get email, I don't and will never.
