Got bitten by dog.(kle1986)(update 2 new picture)

Same stupid dog that attacked Lillie a couple months ago just tried to eat me.

My friend was visiting her mom up the road from me and she called me to come see some kittens they had up there. I leave the dogs at home because their dogs are dog aggressive. So being respectful of their terrortory mine stayed home.

Well I was sitting in a chair talking to my friend as Samantha and her daughter play. Next thing I know Im being bitten. The dog was trying to eat my arm. She let go and grabbed my hair(trying to go for my throat) and I grabbed her throat and started choking her. She let go and my friends dad came running out of the house and grabbed her. I grabbed Samantha(poor kid didnt know what was going on) and got out of there.

I called the dog warden but no answer. Called the local police. They wont do a damn thing?!!! What?!! They give me the dog warden's cell instead and the state police number. Got ahold of the dog warden.

Wanna know what he's gonna do? Tell them they have to keep the dog contained not running loose. He wont do anything because I was in their yard. I get that but I thought there was a limit to how many times a dog can bite someone. This dog has bitten 4 people now including me. The 3 other people were just taking a nice walk and she got them on the leg. Mine was too close to my throat for my comfort PLUS I was steaming mad because Samantha was there. It could have been her. I mean I wasnt doing anything but SITTING in a chair talking.

Im not up for killing animals but this one needs to be PTS. Before it is a child she bites.

Wow!  Thats crazy!  I hope you're ok?!  Was Samantha very traumatized?  I'd worry about that.  Thats me.  Kale is still very traumatized about Crusher biting Kali and he wasn't even here to see it.

Do you guys have magistrates in KY? Do you know what the dog laws are in your state?  If you have those 2 things, you and the others who've been bitten can go before a magistrate and swear out a warrant complaining of a dangerous dog, etc. whatever the law is.  Or contact the District Attorney about it.  First thing you need to do is research the dog laws in KY to find out if there is anything they can do.  It could be they don't have authority because there's not a law unless the dog is running at large.  If the dog has bitten on its own property and there's not a law covering that, you're out of luck.

So glad, once again, VA has dangerous dog statutes.

Samantha could care less. She knows not to bother other people's dogs and really does good with that. She knows the dog bit me but it doesnt scare her because I didnt make a big deal out of it in front of her. I love dogs and am very happy that I passed that on to her so I really dont want to make her afraid of them.

    ETA:

The warden came out. He said he has to report it to the health department which wont be till Monday. Dont know what the health department has to do with anything. But other than that he told the owners that they have to keep the dog contained not even allowed to run loose in their own yard for 10 days. Yeah ok that's gonna do alot of good. I looked up the laws in KY but didnt find anything except having to keep dogs contained. So this law SUCKS.

I get I was in her yard but Ive been there before and she's never tried to bite me before. I get some dogs bite or nip people in their yard but she was going for my THROAT!! If I hadnt choked her she would of bit me in the face or got my throat.

Are you ok?  What was the reaction of the folks who own the dog (your friend's parents??)

Glad Samantha wasn't terrified.  Good job you are so careful.

Im ok. The dad was cussing and blaming me my friend said!! The mom hates the dog and wants her gone(because of her previous biting).

Get this. My friend told me she was one of the people this dog has bitten. And her dad laughed about it and said "well it's cuz you havent been around." Dont know when this happened though.

Here's some pictures. Kinda blurry though.

    She bit me 2 times.

Why wasn't the dog put in a room or restrained somewhere before you came over?? I'm glad you weren't more seriously injured or Samantha!

I can't believe he justified the dog bitting his own daughter!! That guy has a problem.

I'm so sorry this happened to you. I'm sure you will never go again there, but I think it would be great to take more pics of your arm today and tomorrow to show the authorities. Take care!

Yikes! Must've been a big dog...glad he didn't get Samantha!

This dog looks like one of our members dogs. You know Coco that belongs to Steph TheDogHouseBCMPD. They could seriously be twins.

No I will not be going up there anymore. Dang it all I wanted to do was play with some kittens.

That man has some screws loose!!

After the 10-day quarantine, he should take the dog to a vet (muzzled) for a full exam.  Maybe they can find something medically wrong that can be treated.

The dog may be emotionally unstable.  He have a pain problem that he blames on the person that is closest when the pain occurs.  He could also have a brain tumor that effects his behavior.  Etc, etc.

The bottom line is that right now the dog is a huge liability.  If the problem can't be resolved, the dog should be put down.

Dont know what the health department has to do with anything.

The reporting of bites is part of the rabies control ordinance.

    Kentucky dog laws:  http://www.animallaw.info/statutes/stuskyst258_005_991.htm

Vicious Dogs & Dog Bite Provisions:  http://www.animallaw.info/statutes/stuskyst258_005_991.htm#s235

There does seem to be a strange lack of penalties when the dog bites on the owner's property.  Dogs should be able to protect the owner's property, but not to bite the owner's guests.

I've trained dogs that had serious aggression issues. One of them caught me on my hand, putting a nice gaping hole in it with bruising the following day. I wanted to punt that dog out the second story window but out of all people, I should know that the dog didn't premeditate the bite nor was he born with the intention of biting. Either he has some sort of neurological or physical issue or he has been conditioned in some way to be aggressive. I'm not sorry to say that the man is to blame or whoever raised the poor thing.

Those laws SUCK!! And they are not gonna keep that dog contained once the "containment" period the warden gave them is up.

What I really am afraid of is that dog biting a kid. I mean the other people she has bitten have been on the leg. She got me on the arm and then went for my face or throat but got my hair instead. That's when I grabbed her throat and started choking her. If Samantha had been standing beside me she would have been the one that got attacked and I would have seriously killed that dog then.

This is the same dog that came in MY yard and attacked Lillie. I posted about that a month or two ago.

ETA: Just found this out about the dog. JJ's grandma lives 4 houses down. I visit her everynight after our night walk. She has a chihuahua and apparently the dog that bit me has been coming in her yard and going after the chihuahua. Now JJ's grandma is a tough but still elderly lady and she will not let that dog hurt her little dog. I am afraid for her that she will get bitten trying to protect her little dog.

Kimberly,  what city are you in?  There may be city or county laws that would help.

What I really am afraid of is that dog biting a kid.

You have every right to be worried.  I would try to get everyone who has been bitten or whose dog has been attacked to join in a court case.
