The primary objections I have to Obama are lack of experience and knowledge. But the most important thing is highly emotionally to me. And any one of you can tell me to "do some research" or, like in the other thread, flat out call me "silly", devalue my views and things I find important. That's okay, I'm a big guy and I can take it.
And that highly emotional thing is that Obama will not honor the flag.
Serge, grandfather, german immigrant who became an american citizen and served in WWII against the Hitler Regime.
Robert. step-grandfather, communication specialist, US Army, between Korea and Viet Nam.
Gerald, 1st step-father, US Navy, Boiler Tech 2c, USS Ogden, Sea of Japan (in support of Viet Nam), though he was career with the aim of making cpo.
Richard, 2nd step-father, USMC, Recon, Viet Nam.
Tom, 3rd step-father, Sgt. US Air Force, Viet Nam.
Lamar, Lt. US Navy, fighter pilot, Viet Nam.
James, Air Force, Master Flight Sgt. Viet Nam, shot down, wounded in action. Later, Master Sgt and DI Alabama Air National Guard.
Robby, childhood friend, Air Force, equipment and diesel mechanic, Wiesbaden, Germany.
Paul, friend, US Navy SEAL.
Lee, friend and co-worker, PO2, US Navy SEAL, Viet Nam.
Robert, asst. scoutmaster when I was young and in the Scouts, Army Ranger LRRP.
Charlie, FIL, 9th USAF, 410 Light Bomber Group, WWII, France.
These people, near and dear to me, paid the price in blood, sweat, and tears for the flag of this, our wonderful and free country. The same flag that Obama will not honor. Therefore, he does not belong in my white house.
And no amount of vitriolic or patronizing poop to the contrary is going to change how I feel about all of that. Call it diaper training, if you want. It would be easier for me to soil my pants than it would be to disregard the flag and the people who have cried and died to keep it up there and flying.
