Jeans are finally making sense again Yeah !!

I don't know about any one else but when  I recently picked up a magazine and saw that jeans were going back to Relaxed Fit , a Normal Waist I could have cried in relief!!

I can not tell you how much I HATED the mid and low rise jeans. If you aren't a size 6 or smaller thoes suckers show everything,  Try keeping your butt tucked , gut sucked and bend over to pick up a child or dog dish !! Ain't happening. I plan on buying as many pairs of jeans that will cover my bottom, help hold in my tummy and not cut off the blood flow in my thighs!!  And when the Fashionistas decide to go back to skinney pegged leg jeans made from 1/3 the material I will shake my fist defiantly , I am NEVER going back , not ever!!

Another huge Thrill, Peasant cut blouses..... someof my best ever days were spent in Peasant blouses, long hair, sandles or sneakers ( that's right Sneakers Not Running or walking shoes, Not training or cross country just Keds!!)... driving to a doctors appointment I was listening to XM radio and got lost in the 70s .....Knights in White Satin,  Kentucky Rain Belted out by Elvis or the Original Cut or Long and Winding Road by the  Fab Four befor the record company loaded it down heavily with back up singing choirs and a heavy orchestra..... THAT was great music ...My first school dance , first kiss we won't go into what happened listening to Barry Manilow's Could this be the Magic?  .... I traveled to several countries first with my parents then on my own with a group that sent me at 16 to Nicaragua came home and went to Clown U  with Ringling Bros Barnum and Bailey,  was the Youngest Community Relations Director MC Donalds ever had, got married and had my two Daughters got divorced went through Nursing school , Stood on my own two feet and carried my children along with me.... Gads but the 70s were great !!

And this good mood is all thanks to the return of jeans you can live in !!

    Isn't life Great ???!!!

You just made my day!  I get so frustrated shopping for jeans.  All I want is a good, plain basic pair.  Now if they'd just make woman's boots practical instead of fashionable.

I"m totally with ya on the jeans, but I look terrible in peasant blouses.  The cute little round inset emphasizes the fact that my chest doesn't actually start until just below that!  Not so bad in the seventies when I was "just barely there" but after two kids and a massive weight gain and not-so-massive weight loss - well, just ugh.

I'm waiting for princess/drop waists to come back.

I really LIKE the relaxed fit since my thunder thighs just don't look so good in anything else.  But.......regular fit jeans hit me in the ribs.  Honestly, I am sooooo short waisted that anything other than low rise go up so far I can't breath.  Low rise hit right at my belly button, or a tiny bit below, just where I want them to hit.  I'm sure not a size six, but by golly, for someone as short waisted as me, those low riders don't ride low.

I totally agree with the sentiment though....I see some gals wearing the danged things where they are meant to be worn, and they absolutely accentuate every fault they've got.

No, really, I'm a size ZERO (go ahead, throw things...) and low-ride jeans look bad on ME. I'm so glad the 'low rise' trend is ending. It's impossible to keep your rear-end COVERED!

I have a very long waist and it seems that the mid or low rise jeans should fit me really well, but they don't. I'm also a size 4, but I still feel like there's stuff bulging out where it shouldn't be - blech! Over the last couple of years, I've taken to looking at the length of the zipper before I even consider trying them on. If the zipper is only 2-3 inches, I don't even bother.

I have..way too much up top...so they don't look good on me eitherSad

I'm right there with ya on the jeans, but I'll have to take your word for it about how great the 70s were.  That decade is a little fuzzy for me .... I seem to have spent most of it either preggers or nursing.

I'm a size 2, and sitting here, wearing my low rise jeans. I wear them under my grooming smock, that goes halfway to my knees (because all smocks are enormous on me.... really, they don't COME in a size small????). Problem solved, LOL. I've gained a little weight, lately, and these pants look terrible....

MENS pants used to come with three measurements, waist, rise and length. Maybe all I'm saying is that OURS should too. For someone like me, those short rise pants are truly a blessing since they actually fit me at the waist, such as it is. I've got MAYBE two inches between the top of my hip bones and bottom rib, likely less. It would be so very nice if manufacturers looked at REAL women, not coat hangers, when designing pants for us.

    Amen!!!

I'm a pear shape; I have a small waist and a bubble butt (hehe) and it is soooo hard for me to find jeans that don't gap in the back. Even if I do wear a belt the waist gets all scrunchy, urgh. I finally bought a pair of "essential jeans" from the Gap, and I have to say they really fit great. The rise is high, but now when I bend over you don't see anything, yay!

My thighs are heavy....likely the heaviest part of me. My stomach is not and never will be a nice flat "bikini belly" because I'm so bloody short waisted, but it's not big either. Heres a thought....how about they give us OPTIONS???? Not a one size fits all style?

I hate normal waisted jeans. I feel like they are buttoned up to my chest! Mid-rise all the way imo! I do like a relaxed fit though.

    • Gold Top Dog

I like the low and mid rise too...I'm also short waisted, and regular waisted pants are sooo uncomfortable on me, plus I carry more weight in my belly than my butt and thighs, so I have to buy a size bigger in regular waisted pants to get them buttoned, and then they're baggy in the butt and crotch.

I like low & super low rise jeans.  They fit nicely, & they aren't uncomfortable like regular waisted jeans are.
