    Dallas

And see, everyone has a name that has BAD connection for them.  There was this WRETCHED kid in my neighborhood years ago named Dallas, and I used to hear his mother screaming out the back door for him all the time.  I *hate* the name because of that kid! lol

LOL, that's funny. I've never met anyone named Dallas, I just like it.. But yeah, I guess everyone does have names like that. I hate the name Ethan because of this kid in my KINDERGARTEN class. I don't even really remember why I hated him so much, all I know is I HATE the name Ethan. And then the creepy guy on Lost totally set me for life, lol.

And the name Megan reminds me a lot of this girl who lived in my neighborhood when I was 8-9 ish. She was seriously crazy. She used to go on and on about how Saddam Hussein was misunderstood (looking back, I realize she was probably half Middle Eastern. I never met her mother, but I'm guessing from Meggan's looks she was Iranian or similar...which is kind of scary since they apparently told their daughter Saddam was misunderstood). And she'd sing all the time about demons and bizarro things...one time she asked me if I liked her song, and I said no. Okay, so I was kind of a brat, but this girl was so mad that she literally picked up some piece of scrap metal and chased me home. Surprise

They're down to Ava, Hayden, Peyton, Callie, and a few others.  But they still have a few months left. :)

Hmmm... I have a Callie, only its spelled Kali and a Hayden now, but spelled Hadyn...hehe, just thought I'd throw that in there.

Lori, SPIDERMAN!!!!  You soooooo should have let him!  Can you imagine the memories of that wedding?  I had a friend that got married when her boys were 4 and 2 and she decided that she wanted them as natural at the wedding as possible.  The younger one decided to camp out under her dress during the vows, he even propped one side up with his pillow....

We had a president named Lyndon (Johnson). lol. I actually like it too for a girl.

And that reminds me... I knew I had another girl's name I liked. Lincoln. hehe

I also really like the Irish boy's name Cian (pronounced key-in).

And I finally discovered how the heck you spell my sister's dog's name. She mostly writes it phonetically as Keva or Keeva for simplicity, but it's Caoimhe. Interesting stuff.

And, he was a dog lover, had beagles and a collie in the White House.

A friend of mine's sister is named Siobane, which is pronounced Shevonne.  ???

    • Gold Top Dog

I personally wouldn't do that where the name is never going to be pronounced correctly and the kid always has to correct everyone.  My friend was going to name her son Andreas but skipped it when she thought everyone would call him Andrea--girls name.

I usually see that spelled with two Bs (Siobban) - it's one of the Gaelic/Celtic names which is why the spelling and the pronunciation are so different.

    Joyce

Technically it should be Siobhan, because the bh is what makes the "v" sound.  Same with Caoimhe...the mh makes the v sound.

Uh oh. I just discovered the social security most popular baby names list.. Now this is what babies were actually named in 2007, not what names people like best. For comparison, #1 on the list is Jacob with 23,886 babies named that. So #27 is Aiden, 12,966 babies named in 07. #54 is Aidan, with 8,300 babies named, and #102 is Ayden, with 4,267...which gives us a grand total of over 25,500 babies named some form of Aidan, which makes it EASILY #1. Oh dear.

I'm not telling Suzi. I fear she'll go back to Winter, LOL.

    • Gold Top Dog

     Lol - Winter...

I like rather uncommon names too. We have our future daughters name (if we do indeed have kids) - Delilah not sure about the middle name yet though.Other names I like are

Boys - Gage, Logan, Lyle, Gavin

    Girls - Claire, Hayden

I have a few DH and I set aside for middle names ( they are important in his country) - Escobar, Manolo.

    • Gold Top Dog

OH MAN I forgot about Delilah. That's one of my -ah names too! Elijah, Delilah, Isaiah, and Leah. Too far? Perhaps... Hopefully I'm never crazy enough to have four kids though. I think I'd fall over and die. No offense to anyone with 4 or more kids. I'm one of four, I just don't think I could handle it, LOL.

all I know is I HATE the name Ethan.

And the name Megan reminds me

Ha, I'm Megan and my brother is Ethan!

BF and I have 'picked out' Dorothea Lynn (for his grandma and my mom) for a girl, and possibly Ethan Joseph for a boy, which is exactly my brothers name, but Joseph is a family middle name and the only boy name BF and I agree on is Ethan.
