I love that quote too!!! Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that quote from "the little prince"?

Yes! [:)] The passage is really great, and interesting to read in terms of human-dog relationships. Here it is online:http://www.spiritual.com.au/articles/prince/PrinceCh21.htm

I'm jealous of those who are talented/creative enough to come up with those great picture collages in their signatures.  Also, I agree that there should be a size limit.  I think it's a little, um, self-serving to say things like, "My dog looks bad in small pictures, so deal with it," to justify having a huge sigi picture.....

As for the religious quotes -- well, to be honest, I tend to see that sort of thing and then start to skip any and all posts by that (those) person(s).  Typically people who are that vocal in their religious beliefs are people that I don't tend to agree with on many points.

Might've been better to ask which signature lines everyone really likes and not ask which ones people hate....I'm just saying [:)]

I agree with you. Sig lines are meant to be areas of personal expression. I don't get the point in criticizing people's personal statements, that basically amounts to criticizing their values. [:'(]

I like that people get to have personal flags, and take advatage of it. I'm generally not offended by other people's beliefs (save bigotry, hate and intolerance); and I enjoy the variety of personalities and values people express here. [:D]

I will, however, say that I find it kinda lame when people behave in utter opposition to the principles they espouse in their sig lines! [sm=rolleyes.gif]

    THE LITTLE PRINCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My favorite book on the ENTIRE PLANET.

    Oh, his flower!!!
Thanks for having that quote in your sig.

Not me.  I'm glad when Billy isn't a jerk. [:D]

I love the sigs with people's dogs in them.  This IS a dog board after all.

Thanks Badrap.  I kinda giggle too.  Mine's a Sera_J original as well & I love her stuff.

I love "dumdogs" avatar. I love animated avatar. I love the animated signature picture of the black and white English Cocker.  She's beautiful.

I really don't read most of the text signatures because I try hard to digest the body of the message in a short time.

Everytime I try to come up with a written signature line, I feel like it's too trite and erase it.

Diane303, I keep watching to see when the circle of two dogs change to the circle of three dogs.  I do like your signature.

DPU:  Thanks!  Your signature is just so simple and true.  No deep message, here.  It makes me think about watching my three (Yes, Fauna is still at my house) scrambling across my yard having a great time this weekend. It makes me smile.[:)

I do respect any signature that a person puts out to represent a phylosophy, but a signature or avatar that can make you simply feel like smiling is the best in my book.

I really like the sigs that show people's dogs.  DPU's is a personal favorite of mine.  And I really like the quote in my sig.  I'm a psych major, so it seemed perfect.

I'm not a big fan of the religious sigs, but to each their own.

    This is probably my favorite...

hdkutz's Max von Stephanitz quote (founder of GSD breed) "Take this trouble for me: make sure my Shepherd dog remains a working dog, for I have struggled all my life long for that aim."

I like cute & clever quotes.
Shelly (jjsmom06) always has good quotes. I really liked the one about argueing with a fool, & I like her new one as well.

Thanks Amanda!  Sometimes I use dog ones, and I gave a dog related one to Kate to add in my new signature collage, but for the most part I change them depending on my general mood and how I am feeling about the forum at the time. I really like my current one and it fits my mood for now.[:)]

BY FAR.. my favorite quote I have yet to see on idog was one of Billy#%92s from about 6 months ago.

“It is not advisable, to venture unsolicited opinions. You should spare yourself the embarrassing discovery of their exact value to your listener."  -Ayn Rand

I love Ayn Rand and she has so many incredible quotes that actually I am considering putting in a new monthly “quote by Ayn Rand” in my signature.

    I also currently really like:

    Angeliques:
"Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds" Albert Einstein

As far as pictures go.. to me Ed#%92s is my absolute favorite. I LOVE smiling sighhounds!![:D]

Kates new siggy is one of my favorites as well.

Again, not arguing for non-dog related content here - that's a seperate issue. But it is slightly annoying when people say - religion should be private, keep that religious stuff to yourself. Ghandi and MLK didn't believe that, thank God.

I don't believe in bumper sticker theology so you're not going to catch me with cutesy quotes on my shirt, a fish on my car, or anything but actual scripture in my sig line - if I did that. Unless there were some contextual reason for it.

I don't see why expressions of religion should be any more annoying than artistic or other expressions of indivduality. I can read something like Anne's sig, or the "bird dog Yin and Yang", or even "soldiers" and take joy in the beauty of another person's soul. Nothing weird, or proselytising, about that. Now, if my sig line said, "YOU ARE ALL GOING TO HELL UNLESS YOU BELIEVE" - yes, that's in-your-face, overconfrontational, lacking in tact, and no good will ever come of it. The scripture even warns against that sort of thing. But that's true of any dialog on any topic.

Oh, and science can most definitely be a religion. I prefer the term "world view" - whatever is central to your thinking and shapes your view of the universe, and is the reference point for your actions and choices.

I feel the need to clarify my statement of religious quotes in siggys.  I just meant that I don't enjoy the quotes for my own personal reasons, but that I have no qualms with them being on the board.  I just meant that in a purely personal opinon with absolutely NO judgement being made about a persons beliefs.  It's hard to convey what I am meaning here because its just text on a computer screen.  But I hope that clears some things up.  I have no qualms about people being public about their beliefs, unless you try to convert me or accuse me of being immoral, then we might go a few rounds [;)]

I just want to say that when I read that, I was like "She spelled intact wrong?!" .....Do you think I may have gotten a little too into dogs?
    *roflmao*

And hey, Diane, if you DO get a third dog, you can change it from the YinYang to a peace symbol xD!!
