So, Candace, your suffering has "educated" us.

Agreed. I have a question, though. Aren't women pregnant for *nine* months? And doesn't a month have four weeks? So 9X4 would be 36 weeks. Have people been lying to me all along? Are you really technically pregnant for TEN months?!

Well, according to this article, the gestation period is different for natural conception versus invitro!  who knew?!  more education!

Hmm. Learn something new everyday.. Lol.

Well today and tomorrow will be stressful if I can't get ahold of my ride!!! I'm supposed to fly out on Saturday to Calgary.. Problem.. The woman who said she'd drive me is no where to be found! She was supposed to be back from camping yesterday. And I've called and left a couple messages so here's hoping I hear back from her soon cuz no buses go out to my airport! GAH!

Sometimes months have 5 weeks.  So maybe in the course of the '9 months' there is 4 of them that have 5?  Although, I have heard before that it is closer to 10 months than 9 Huh?

Actually, February is the only month that just has four weeks.  Every other month has 30 or 31 days, and over time that adds up to about four more weeks ... so it just feels like you're pregnant for 10 months .... or 12. Smile

Holy poop does anyone do a job anymore?  Now the plumber arrived and was like oh I need that pipe too I didn't bring that one so I'll have to go to Lowes (DIY chain)

Then DH notices the guys that took out the vanity broke a floor tile - heck they were the only guys that would come out and do the darn job, it's chipped and underneath who cares blah!

MY blood pressure is usually like 100/60 I bet its 180/100 at the moment

This is a week of my life I won't get back

Yep!  And the time he spends driving to Lowes and standing in line there will be on your dime - because of course, it's too much trouble to figure out what parts are necessary to do the job and have them in the truck already.

Well, by that logic, a year would have 13 months, because there are 52 weeks in a year, yet 4 X 12 is only 48.  Its kind of like counting backwards on your fingers and saying you have 11 of them.

    • Gold Top Dog
Oh yeah - I forgot about the 30/31 days thing. I guess that it makes sense now.

I just had a client call and book because she's going in for a colonoscopy and she talked about her 'procedure' for a good 15 minutes. Really, lady! Ew!

DON'T READ THIS CANDACE!!! Wink Come on baby!

You know my DH and I did a home improvement project that was the project from HECK! (using acceptable language). It was supposed to take 10 days it took 10 months. One of the workers assaulted my husband (pushed him down the stairs), we were without our bathroom (only one full bath in the house) for 2 weeks, we were supposed to be without it for 4 days. We hired a contractor BIGGEST MISTAKE WE MADE!!!! They would come, drive a nail or screw and leave, return and repeat. I know exactly how you feel about workers not working.

DH actually had to go to court because of the assault.

We chose tile for our bathroom because it lasts for ever. Our bathroom floor came up 3 times in no time at all. We would not pay them until they it was as we wanted.

When we re did our basement and our kitchen, we were our own contractors. Got it done in the time frame we expected turned out really nice. DH and my FIL installed the cabinets and did most of the work themselves. We hired a masonry (exterior door needed moving), someone to put in our slate floor, electrical and our counter. With exception of the store we bought our cabinets through who were idiots, our kitchen/basement project went smooth as silk. It also came in at budget or less than budgeted. No more contractors for work we do.

Yea and this was his third trip

topper of it all we paid an $85 service fee on Tuesday which they said would be applied to the bill when they came and did the work as long as it was within 30 days.  So yesterday he comes out and looks at the hole the idiot he sent out to 'make access' and says no can't get in there. And leaves

Today informs me that he have to know whether he is hooking the faucet back up or not 'cause that goes in the bill - to which I say well minus the $85 and he says no that no longer applies

holy poop holy poop holy poop - wish Bugsy was trained in schutzhund and I could tell him to latch on Angry

I really haven't been this aggravated in doG knows when

days like this I am so thankful for Mindless Chatter - thank you all for helping to keep me sane (well sort of)

Come on over...road trip!  LOL.  I actually know far too much about the perils and red tape of importation, have of course been looking into bringing a certain something over from Italy.  It's a lot of work and a fair amount of ££££....though I still may do it.
