Need help with Willow

Oh good gosh.  I just got caught up and Lori, I'm sooooo sorry you've been going through this.  Willow has our prayers as well.

Lori, please take good care of yourself. That's an important thing to do for Willow so you can be there for her!! And I want you to take care of yourself, too!!!

I think it's an old wives' tale that a warm, dry nose means a sick dog. When my dogs are warm, their noses are warm. They're almost always dry, unless they've just been drinking.

((((lots of hugs)))) for Willow and her mom. I hope you're both feeling better, this evening.

She thinks it's a pancreatitis that's just not picking up on the ultrasound. She doesn't think inflammed intestines would cause the pain she was in.

I am not trying to scare you, but please tell your vet she is wrong about intestinal pain!  Before my mother passed away she was running a very high fever and in severe pain.

Hi there...wanted to jump in and agree.  I don't know anything about pancreatitis but gastritis and inflammed intestines are VERY painful...including symptoms such as fever, breathing issues, unable to find a comfortable position, and feeling like death in general.

Sending Willow some strong healing mojo from my little neck of the woods.

Very late but I want to add my good wishes to Willow's speedy recovery. I truly hope that she can keep her food and water down and that she will stay comfortable and pain free so that you can both take a well needed breather. Fingers and paws crossed for Miss Willow.

If you know that she does not have a temperature, do not worry about the dry nose. Dogs with temps can have wet cool noses and dogs without temp dry warm noses. The "dry nose" equals sick dog does not seem to be true.

Thank you and everyone else who said that the diagnosis of her intestines being inflammed would be painful.  I know she was in a lot of pain to show it like she was.  And, I was sort of concerned after the vet said she didn't think it would be so painful because then I was sitting thinking something else must be going on that they didn't find.  I'll tell ya, not knowing what's going on is very frightening.  I've been for two days just staring at her making sure she's OK.  And, for her to show the level of pain she was showing it must of been really, really bad.  She's a very stoic dog.

And now for the evening update---She's still doing well.  We are keeping her cool and calm in the A/D'd  living room.  She's drinking small amounts like they told us and also she is holding down small amounts of food so far.  And, when I went to get her food she followed me into the kitchen--a very good sign--she wasn't doing anything before.

She's still comfortable as far as pain.  I haven't needed to give her any more pain medication since last night.  She's slept a lot.  And, in between I see little bits of her coming back.  But, slowly.  They said it could take 48 hours or so before she felt better.

Anyway, thanks again to everyone.  This has been so incredibly helpful to see all these posts and wishes.  And, just knowing that others care about her.

Just letting you know that we are still sending Willow our good vibes...and will continue until she's back to her old self.

    Thank you all very much.
She's very comfortable tonight.  And, holding everything down.
Hopefully the worst is over now.  She scared the hell out of me!

Good Girl Willow !  You keep getting better :)
(and Lori , we care about her and we care about YOU - and you're sounding much better also :)

Phew, Miss Willow you keep getting better, and fast. Aunt Debbie can't take this much longer and give your mama some purple tongue kisses, she's tired.

Willow's a strong girl with that incredible spirit. She'll make it. Hugs and doggy slobbers.

    Thank you guys!
She is still doing well, thank God.
I really appreciate all the prayers and good thoughts and notes.
Yes, I am doing better.  That really had me scared.  I've never seen her so ill and in pain.
And, she's my first dog so didn't have anything to compare to to help me think she'd be OK.
