    Thanks!
OK, she was going crazy trying to find water so I called and they said she can lick ice only for tonight.  Funny, she had no clue what to do with it.  I actually had to put it on her tongue so she would get it.

And, just a little while ago I heard something and found her digging up old cookies she's stashed.  I had to stop that.

I think whatever the injected her with helped her out a lot.

And, she just went to get her ball!

Thank you God!!! Thank you guys too!
(Of course, the real test will be tomorrow if she can hold food down)

Edited 2am--She's not doing as great as I thought.  I had to call the vet back and he just called in some pain medication for her.  She was panting and pacing again.  So, he called it in rather than have me take her in tonight.  I don't know what tomorrow will bring.

    Thanks!

Her intestines must be very painful; I hope they find the cause of this very soon. I hope she's better today.

Oh, Lori and Willow!! I am just seeing this....so sorry!

Willow, you had better get well soon so your poor mom can stop worrying about you. Gosh, I can only imagine how stressful this must be for you.

I will definitely be praying that your pretty girl gets well soon...for good!! You're in my thoughts!

    Good morning everyone.
Well, the pain meds worked so fast!  They told me to watch her because it could cause her to stumble when they started kicking in.  She would not rest, she was standing staring at the walls--very similiar to what she did after her spay surgery only I think that was LESS painful.

She was standing and then started staggering and almost lost her balance.  So, I gently laid her down and she sleep from that point on.  It was very helpful for me to as I was just about near exhaustion.  I was honestly thinking if they didn't work I was going to take her back because I just couldn't do it another night.
    Not that I didn't want too. . .

And, today she still seems pretty good, she's drinking and ate some cottage cheese.  I figured I'd start with that--she does well with dairy.  She wags at going for a walk.

But, something, that dog I know, is still not completely back.  I've never been so scared.  I really thought I was going to loose her this week.

I'm praying that today she continues to do well and I start to see my Willow again.  I don't think you guys can imagine how devastated I've been seeing her like this.  I just wasn't prepared for this all of a sudden.

Thank for all the posts.  They've meant a lot to me as I don't have much of a support group when it comes to Willow.  DH loves her but with something like this you need more than one person.

    Thanks.
    Lori

    Oh,

I'm soooooooooooo glad she is better!!! [:)]    Could the meds for the UTI irritated her stomach and set off the inflammation?  Maybe change to a different type of med that can be given with lots of food?    I know you quit giving her the meds last Tuesday, but I don't know if she needs to go back on something or not.

Hi Lori! I just now saw this, wanted you to know I'm thinking of you and Willow! I hope she's really on the mend. It really is stressful and scary for the humans - I hope you're able to rest soon.

Oh I'm so sorry you've been going through this!  How scary it must be!  I was on amoxicyllin once a few years ago and the day AFTER I finished the dosage, the soles of my feet and the palms of my hands itched so bad, I thought I was going crazy.  I've never had anything like that happen in my life, I was literally in the office scratching my BARE feet on things because they itched so bad, while I scratched my palms like crazy.  Called the doc and said I was allergic to amoxicyllin and that's how it manifests itself.  If I take it again, the reaction could be much worse.    So I developed the allergy ot it over time because I know I'd taken it before and never had problems.  When I started reading this, that was my first thought, a reaction to the meds since you stopped giving them to her, the allergy developed.

I truly hope things get better!!!!  Willow is such a beautiful girl!

I hope Willow gets back to her old self soon.  It is so frightening when you don't know what to do to help.  Try to get some rest yourself too, and I'll be thinking good thoughts for your girl.
