Well, crap. Going into town this morning I got broadsided....t boned....whatever you want to call it. The drivers side seat airbag and the side curtain airbag both deployed.  The door will neither open or close beyond 8 inches.  I got the ticket for failure to yield, but gosh darn it SHE WAS NOT THERE WHEN I LOOKED immediately before pulling out.  And the skidmarks show that she swerved to the left to hit me in the drivers door.  So she didn't attempt to avoid the accident....had she sweared right, the worst she would have gotten was the back end.

I just can't seem to win.

Glenda - so sorry about your car.  Hope you're ok physically!  Accidents happen, it's why you have insurance.

Darn, I am sorry this happened.  I hope you have nothing worse than a couple of bruises.

Oh gosh Glenda, I'm so sorry you were in an accident.  And swerving to hit your door?  That's not right.  I'm sorry.  Like a previous poster said.  Soon you're gonna get on here and be able to post some happy news, you deserve it and it's about time.

Oh no!  I hope you aren't hurt.  Don't sign off on any insurance waivers!  You are still in our prayers here.

oh my, i'm still thinking of you over here!

I'm sore this morning, but it's all just muscular.  I have skelaxin, which is a nice muscle relaxer that doesn't go through the central nervous system.  Air bags do make some lovely bruises though.

I walked down and took pictures last night of the skid marks to prove that she swerved to hit me where she did.  She could have easily avoided any accident at all by swerving to the right, but it's almost like she aimed for me.  Until I saw those skid marks I wondered if somehow I'd missed seeing her big  black car, but once I saw them, I feel very certain that she pulled out too fast from someplace and gunned for me.  I will fight the ticket.

I'm glad you're more or less okay, but, shoot... that really, really sucks!!!! I'm glad you were able to get photos.

She probably had a split second to decide whether to go left or right - and just made the wrong decision.

I hope you beat the ticket!!  Is there any place in the area that might have gotten the accident on a surveillance tape?

Geeze Glenda you just can't catch a break lady!  (((hugs))) and lots of prayers from us over here in NJ.

No such luck.l This is a rural area and not even any blinker lights.  I'm feeling a good deal less sore today, but still know that my body is objecting to the abuse.  The whole left side of my body is bruised, from the waist up from the airbags.  In this case, since the door didn't really come IN, I'm not sure that they saved me from more serious injury, or caused the injuries.  The side curtain airbags are wierd....they look like an accordian shade.

The gal might have made the wrong choice in swerving, or, considering that she was driving a big old heavy Buick, she might have hit me on purpose.  I don't know, and am sure that I never will.  I can suspect all I want, but I can't prove a darned thing.  Whatever the case, I sure wish that she had swerved to the right and not screwed up my car so badly.

It's been raining since Sunday but it appears that the tarp and my attempts to keep it on are working out ok.  The car is dry inside at least, so there won't be further damage from the weather.  I don't think.  I heard from the insurance company yesterday, but not the actual adjuster.  Sure hope he gets out here soon.  I'd really like to get the darned thing fixed and back on the road.
