Hey - as long as he's still participating in interviews, that's a positive thing. Try to keep your faith. I know it's hard, but it'll keep you sane.

I feel fo you and the rough times you've been having.

For 2005, 2006, 2007, I had problems holding a job, primarily due to politics and machiavellian machinations, which I am not good at. And it was sometimes a month before I could find a job. For those 3 years, I was without work during Christmas. And you almost never get hired in December because most people have their mind on Christmas. And, in my trade, I am over-qualified. It's hard to get hired when you have a master license. You have to interrupt their rejection in order to say, "but I am willing to work for journeyman wages" (non-union).

So, I was really fortunate to get hired back by the company I worked for from 2001 to 2005. At journeyman pay, but it's enough to keep us in house and food, especially since I have been averaging 56 hours a week for 3 months, now. At the company I work for, there are a few master electricians, so it's no big deal and you get paid for your ability and knowledge, rather than your license. It's refreshing, actually. But it's not easy street. I have to produce and perform just as if it was a new company. It's just that I have a prior working relationship with many of the people from before.

I don't have a clue about radio management or marketing. I can tell you how a radio works in enough detail to put you to sleep as well as the sound of rain. But I wouldn't be able to tell you if the local stations like Mad Rock and Lone Star would need your help. OTOH, Dallas is a big city with big markets and a wide and diverse population. If you don't mind dodging the seasonal tornado or two. Lone Star (92.5 FM) is based in the D-FW area. Their market is people about my age and their programming is a mix of classic rock and Texas rockabilly, like Steven Earl Keen and Ray Wylie Hubbard and Lyle Lovett. You'd hear "Redneck Mothers" one minute and "Freebird" the next, followed by "Along the Watchtower." Then there's Jack (100.3 FM) with an even wider playlist. "Karma Chameleon" one minute and "Highway to Hell" the next.

You are still one of the gutsiest women I know and your style reminds of my mother, at times, and that is a compliment. What I think is funny is the ignorance of that rv park landlord. She didn't realize that she would actually have more to fear as a bite from you than any of your dogs. "No, the dogs don't bite. I do."

    ETA:

I was just doing the dishes and realized that I forgot a very important thing. If solving your problem with just a simple move to another state, that could be managed and you might have done so by now. For example, in the rv, it might cost $500 in gas to get down here. But that's not the problem. The problem is you have family up there. Your mom and sons and their families. And really, I imagine you would rather stay in MI to be near them. So yeah, what you really need is the good vibes, as gracious as our offers of parking space might be. To that end, good things are coming your way. I have decreed it and what I say, goes.
