Does anyone dress up their dog?

Does anyone dress up their dog?  Do you put bandanas on them, dress them up for the holidays, or do they wear sweaters or shirts?  Tell me what you do with your dog.

I don't dress up my dogs, but I do put bandannas on them to make them look less intimidating.

I just clipped down my Crestie barenaked (she is a very hairy hairless).  I've discovered that clothes have a practical purpose for her!  Even now that it is summer she wears a light sweatshirt in the cool morning and a very light t-shirt when it's hot and sunny to protect her from the sun.  I learned that lesson the hard way!

I hated how she looked in clothes when she had hair, but I have to admit she looks kinda cute now.  I'm looking at more fashionable wear for the rest of the summer, even a little sailor dress.  I just can't believe it.  Somebody STOP me . . .

Ben wears a large bandanna that says "Pet Me" when we go to rescue events (haven't been to any in a couple years but it would still apply!).  He's a large outgoing dog and sometimes people hesitate because he looks like he might knock them right over with his enthusiasm.  He never jumps up though and while I'm busy talking to people at the booths, I want people to know he's safe to cuddle.

Jen, my 18 pound Border Collie, has no extraneous body fat and if it's cold and wet and she's not doing anything active, she has a little blanket coat.  It's very dignified.  At least I think so. [;)]

I think bandanas are cool and you can have seasonal prints on them too.

I will put the prong on when we are going to be someplace that is highly distracting and when I do, I put a bandanna over it so that people don't think my dogs are BAD!

Zoe has a sweater for all the winter holidays (came as a set) and some bandannas.  She gets very cold.  In 60 degree weather she shivers!

We get Gypsy dressed up in funny outfits when we walk in the Children's parade here in town each year.  She loves it (lots of attention).

She doesn't wear any clothes on a daily basis.

Well, Charlie only has one sweater-his MSU one, but I have collars for every holiday, and seasonal ones.  Does that count?

Tux wears a winter jacket because he freezes.  He also has a rain jacket.  He would wear anything though ...
Wes, my lab, will NOT wear anything!  I've tried ... he just tries to chew it off.  *rolling eyes*

I also have bandannas for them.  My mom brought them each one that say "My owner went to Disney World and all they brought me was this lousy bandanna." which I find ammusing! *smile*

My daughter's dog has a whole set of bandannas, including a western one that he wears with a velcro on cowboy hat for Halloween.  I need something for my new dog; she's a German Shepherd mix and looks like a coyote.  I want her to wear something so that she looks more like a pet dog so she won't get shot.  Really there's little chance of that as she never strays off the place.  She chews, though, since she's a youngster, and has gone through two harnesses so far.  She is fine with a collar but  I like to put a harness on because she's shy and might pull out of the collar if she gets scared.  Probably will go with bandannas for her too but I've been toying with the idea of something fancy with beads or sequins, like an artsey decorated harness  [sm=dance.gif]

Lana doesn't like rain that much so she has sweaters and jackets to wear.  She also wears them in the snow since she LOVES playing in the snow it keeps her warm and avoids it stickign to her fur.  She also wears her boots in the snow.

Max has a whole assortment of bandannas, some of which he inherited from the old dog we lost and some that I bought new for him. He has seasonal ones for Christmas, Halloween & the 4th. of July.  Wal-Mart has pretty cool bandannas for $1 and if you want something particularly festive you can go to the housewares dept. of someplace like Mervyns or Kohls and buy one large dinner napkin. They usually come out with some really cool patterns around any holiday.

Mine have coats, sweaters, sweatshirts, t shirts, and dresses.
Teenie is sparsely coated, and Emma is white and kept shaved down. They need to be covered if they're in the sun for long (they get sunscreen, too) or if it's too cold out.
