Which Floor Would You Choose? **New Choice Added** (page 2)

Well, after doing a test, I have decided on the Basalt. Here's why. All three tiles were sprinkled with dirt, straw and dog hair. (All things that are likely to show up on this floor.) I think it also matches the counter top best.

In that picture, the shale and basalt look almost identical, but I like them both. Smart of you to test them that way. We put down some tile in our master bath that seemed perfect at the time but has been a nightmare to keep clean.

Basalt!! 

Smart!  I was gonna say I like the Onyx the best, but watch out, black always shows dirt faster!  Basalt will look great I'm sure and you have a lovely kitchen :)

I know. It's really hard to tell the difference. A larger tile shows the difference better (L-Basalt R- Shale):

Yes, you can tell with the last picture. Man, I love that Basalt tile! It's going to be very easy to take care of. Are you going to lay it yourself?

Pffft! No.   They have to put in a sub floor and it's got special adhesive. Laying floor is not something in our repertoire.

The subfloor is going in today and I should have a finished floor by tomorrow! Woo-Hoo! I will post before, during and after pictures. Because of the fun!
