The OP is a child who is mourning the loss of a beloved, elderly family dog and whose parents bought a puppy.  The parents didn't ask the opinions of those on this forum.  Trying to make a child feel bad for something over which he/she had little or no control would be cruel IMO.

Let the OP enjoy his/her puppy.  Continued participation in this forum will teach the OP what he/she needs to know for the future.

    I agree.

Iluvbo- Congrats on your puppy- he's adorable!! Mini Schnauzers are one of my favorite breeds. That's good that your parents are getting him to the vet soon. My new puppy, Fudge, had been de-wormed several times but he still had roundworms.

Anyway, don't hesitate to ask any questions that you may have about taking care of your puppy. I know people will be more than happy to help you. [:)]

I agree also. Your pup is very cute. Do continue to gain valuable knowledge from this site! And more pictures please![:)][:)][:D][:D]

I know that I am late here buut I just wanted to say that your pup is very cute!  He reminds me of that dog on Lady and the Tramp.  I think his name was Jock or something like that!

Thanks everyone.[:)]  I wouldn't necessarily call myself a "child"...well to an adult I guess I am.[:D]  I'd rather say highschooler. haha

He is very cute. He is seeming alittle coughy...he's going to the vet here soon and I'll let ya'll know what happens and what's up with him.[:)]

Well, I'm easily old enough to be your grandmother.  [:D]  When you get to be my age, you will find that it is even hard to consider a 21-year old to be all grown up.  They just look so young!

I shutter when I look back at my teenage years and realize how much I didn't know then.  [:o]   I even thought that "nice" people were also trustworthy - some are and some aren't.

VERY cute pup! Good luck, and good for you for being open to learning! [:)]

Why the silence on this? Because the OP told the board...no negative comments?

But didnt the kid say she paid half for the puppy? If so then I would think she DOES have some say in it. all in all they got the dog from this "breeder" not much can be done now. Just  maybe when she is older and wants a dog of her own she will know how to look for a proper breeder.

Personally I grew up in a family dynamic where questioning my father's decisions was not something I dared to do very often.

    Never my intention ever.  Ever..

.I make a living bringing "at risk" children into a new normal realm. Respectfully, please never accuse me of otherwise.

Because I am uncomfortable about one's breeding practices and where a pup comes from is derived from experience with rescue.  I struggle to apologize when pups are bought from breeders that make me uncomfortable.  For folks that peruse this board and lurk, I hope common discourse might serve as disclaimers of sorts. This is my expicit wish .  Regrets to any who construe this otherwise.

Certainly..congrats on the new pup Iluvbo.  Many years of good health and warm wishes are sent your way.

    Peace..Coleen
