Mindless Chatter - Thurs

    Mindless Chatter - Thurs

I have meetings all day today. Bleh. I woke up with a sinus headache too. That isn't going to make the meetings any fun.

I was super productive last night though. I'm so proud of myself :) After taking the dogs for a hike I got home, trimmed some bushes in my back yard, hung up the bird feeder, cleaned up some leaves, raked and picked up the straw, cleaned up the dog poop, seeded the entire back yard, picked up sticks and took out the trash for trash day. I was a busy little bee! It was a great night for all of that yard work though. Our first 70 degree day of the year. All that yard work made me realize how much more work I have to do around the house though. Paint inside and out, clean the garage, finish my bathroom, etc ;p It never ends.

I have a retirement party to go to for my old boss. I'm debating if I should get him a card or something. I just don't know.

I'd get him a card, people appreciate that sort of thing.

I have a lot of laundry and cleaning to do today.  I also need to find something appropriate to wear to a funeral tomorrow.  At some point I need to some work, take Ben for a walk and put a couple of things on eBay that I want to get rid of.

I should hop to it, really.  LOL.

I've got tons of writing to do today and it is absolutely gorgeous weather.  I'll take B for a walk soon.

Our class was not great again, makes me never want to take a class again.  B just can't relax, I think he's bored when nothing is going on and he gets so excited before we leave that he's just too much when we get there.  Ah well apparently we only have next week and then can choose to test for CGC.  I don't think I'll have him tested as he is more jumped up there than anywhere.  I took him to a dog event on Saturday and he was awesome.  Just so bummed about it.

Anyone want to do some writing for me so I can dig up my veggie garden instead??

I'll do the writing, and don't lose heart.  Ben lost his mind at agility last night.  We were running on the outside course and for some reason the scents were just driving him nutty.  Horses are kept in part of that field, and there are foxes and rabbits and who knows what else there as well.  He actually jumped OFF the dog walk (which was thankfully not at full height) to go and sniff something.  He'd refuse jumps because a spot in front of the jump HAD to be sniffed.  And so on.  When I could actually get him to run he was jumping around, playbowing at me etc.  And that was AFTER an hour long session with the chuckit at the park.  Maybe there was something in the air last night, because you and Bugsy were not the only ones who had a bad class.

I would write for you if you come over and pack for me.  This is the part I have been dreading for months now...the packing.  It's just so hard with the baby.  I don't see her all day and then to lock myself in the basement when I get home from work is nearly impossible.  Plus, DH is such a pack rat.  Wether it's clothes, paper, books, magazines, etc. he saves everything.  At least moving will give me a chance to purge everything.  We will have to move every couple of years otherwise we will be swimming in this stuff by the time we retire.

Can Friday get here any slower? I even had a day off Monday.

Our office had this "retreat" (basically an 8 hr staff meeting) I missed it because of jury duty. Anyway they hired a company out of CA to help us find "happiness in the workplace" blah, blah, blah. Today we have a follow up conference call (BORING) and I have to have a personal goal, in my everyday work that I can improve on, that is measurable with beginning, middle and end. Well I meet my work goals on a monthly basis 100% of the time. What can be improved? I suppose making my personal goal be finding a new job (that would provide me happiness too) and the end being I am out of here, would not be so good. I so don't want to do this, it is such a waste of time. This is our second year with this group, last year was fine, but this year....I think it is just too much.

Well off to do my "mandatory" reading before the conference call.

Ew, I hate conference calls.  I used to have them every week at my old job.  And I was the only one in my branch that had to attend, so it was me, in a room by myself, listening to a bunch of otherwise perfect strangers cracking stupid jokes at each other for 20 minutes while everyone signed on.  Then 10 minutes of actual meeting, then another 20 trying to figure out when the best time to do it all over again was.  Such a waste.

Julie, you inspire me... well, kinda.  I don't wanna pick up any poop, but I do think I'll do some more yard work.  I don't think there's any poop to pick up anyway...if there is, its not from MY dogs and its just one more reason to get my fence up.

I started painting my cupboards last night.  Just to see how they will look.  I did one cupboard, and one door.  But since I don't listen to myself, it took forever, because of the whole nothing would dry thing going on.  Its gonna look good though, once its done.

I can't wait until tonight! My DH called me and they are having a crawfish boil at his work (he works on the tugboats) so I get to go eat crawfish and I get to see him!!!!!!

Haha!  We're just the opposite - I save everything and Mr. W.  throws out everything that's not nailed down.  I caught him trying to throw my WEDDING Dress out!

I almost choked when I saw that!!  OMG!!

Spent way too much time trying to find a picture of Colonel Potter on his horse, Sophie.  In the meantime, I have a great one of him smoking a cigar - so he's chillin on my desk.

Yesterday we found a wildlife rescue - it was necessary as a teeny tiny bird was blown out of his nest and we couldn't find the nest.  Yeah, yeah, let nature take its course, but...!  The poor little thing fit into the head of a plastic spoon, he was so tiny.  RIP little baby bird. (I'm sure he didn't make it.)

Tonight we pack for the camping trip. SOOOO looking forward to getting away - although I will miss Gracie.  There's just too many people going, and kids, trying to cram on a boat -which she gets kind of nervous in my parents boat anyway.  I think her trip to the lake will be when there are fewer people joining us.

Yep, I would do that (all my wedding dress does is remind me of how big I once was) if it was stored at my house...my mom has it.  DH was appalled that throw away birthday cards.  I hate "stuff" it drives me crazy.  The few things I save are very very important and have special meaning.  For example, when Riley was born the only thing I saved from that night was the piece of paper DH used to time my contractions.  That to me meant more than the "its a girl" thing on her crib at the hospital.  I am a bit extreme, I know Wink

    BORED BORED BORED....

Lets do some chatting people... :)

I've been trying to sell my wedding dress since the day after I got married.  I'm about ready to throw it out!

I feel so fat/guilty right now, lol.  I ate a big breakfast (planned to), but then my boss gave me a candy bar and I got an e-mail about free leftover pizzas in the large conference room.  I ate two breadsticks instead of pizza b/c I'm fasting pizza right now until my sis-in-law's wedding, but still...

For lunch break, I went to my parents to borrow their shop vac and then went home to drop if off. It was so nice out I put a swim top on and laid in the sun, let the dogs and cats hang out on our porch.

you could come help me paint the cupboards...its not as fun as I thought it would be.

does anyone know a good trick to getting grease build up off of wooden cupboard doors?  I just took them off when I moved in and they have been sitting in the porch all winter.  I didn't realize how greasy they were!  Its gross!  I cleaned the two that I'm hoping were the ones from over the stove and now my hands are all sticky with grease!  Yuck!

Maybe try Goo Gone, or that concentrated Dawn stuff.  If you're repainting and not worried about the finish, then the Mr. Clean Magic Erasers do a good job getting stuff off - but they scuff up wood.
