Mindless Chatter - Thurs

Scuffing up the wood isn't an issue.  I have to sand them anyway.  It took me about 40 minutes to get enough of it off each door to satisfy myself.  Hopefully whats left doesn't hinder the paint too much.  I think it should be ok.  I only have...15 doors and 5 drawer fronts left...sigh....oh ya, and the cabinets too.

I would try dish-soap.  After all, it's designed to "cut through grease", right?

La la la la la - bored today.  My desk Beta fish, McSushi, has a new clean tank that I'm enjoying far more than he is!

ya, I think I'm gonna have to break down and use the dishsoap.  I was trying to avoid it since I used it on the door I used last night, and as is the nature of wood, it soaked up quite a bit of the water and took forever to dry.  Luckily things are drying much better today.

FYI, Lysol wipes do not work.

DH would recommend white spirits/paint thinner but that isn't probably good for someone who is pregnant - I might try  a light bleach solution and spray it on and wipe off.

Good luck - I admire your motivation!

I'm bored with it now.  LOL.  This is me, queen of half projects.  I've got 4 doors painted on the outside, but I have to flip them to paint the insides and they're too tacky yet.  Plus the cabinets of behind 5 doors painted...They look pretty good.  Its gonna be a while before I can reassemble them though so that sucks.  I need a nap.

Maybe I'll take the dogs out for a bit.  That might give me a burst of energy.  In any event, the Habs play in half an hour so I'll have to break for that....any excuse.

LOL I'm right there with you. My bathroom has been half done for about 6 months now and my walls have been prepped to paint for about a year. I will get these things done one of these days!!

I'm dying of suspense...like, seriously on edge.  DH and I "shot the puck" yesterday, and upped the bid on the house we want to buy because TWO other people extended bids!  Aghhh!  We want this house SO badly, and offered up their asking price.  It's still an incredible deal for our area, and I don't want to lose the house!  It's perfect for us, and I already have visions of flower gardens dancing in my head. Smile

And even cooler...DH and I were talking about adding a second dog to our family again last night.  And we decided that if we get this house (fingers crossed!), we're going to start actively looking for a shelter/rescue dog.  We'll close on the house in May if they take the bid, and hopefully in the next few months (after settling in of course) we'll have a second dog!  We can't wait, especially for Honor's sake.  She loves other dogs, and I know that we'll find the perfect pal for our family! Party!!!

Oh, throwing stuff out. I throw EVERYTHING out, I'm the same way. I hate clutter. My rule is that if it hasn't been used since the last 'season', you don't need to keep it and it can either be donated or thrown out.

My throat is so raw today! I thought I was on the tail end of this cold but apparently not. My lips are chapped too.

Thank doG this semester ends on Tuesday. Summer here I come!!!!

I made 40 bucks in the last 2 days. I shaved my neighbors dogs for her. Took me 2 hours each on them. I only asked for 10 bucks each dog but since it was more work than I thought they gave me an extra 20. I have one more dog of their's to shave but he's a little dog and has been recently groomed so it'll be easy. I have a 50 buck walmart clipper that did pretty darn good but I still might go ahead and invest in better clippers. Anyone have any suggestions?

So looks like I have a job every month. An easy 30 bucks now that the dogs are all shaved and wont be so hairy next time.

I can tend to be that way with DIY, or just not get started.  I am not a very capable person in that regard - much better in the garden or doing flat out manual labor.  When it comes to precise stuff I am definitely clumsy.  DH is like a whirlwind with projects he goes at a screaming pace (mostly well-done but notorious about the finishing touches) so I hate starting things as then he complains about when it will be finished.  PIA!

And I am a thrower outer!  My mom has my wedding dress - last year she said do you want it.  I was like what for I didn't want to keep it that's why you have it!  I like things neat and tidy which is easier when there is less junk about.  DH loves to collect though so it can be a struggle.

Bugsy got some beef ribs for dinner tonight, didn't get the picture but he was slurping on the clean rib bones with two of them hanging out of his mouth - it was so funny.

Man, I am really going to miss Gracie.  The roommate had already agreed to take care of her - and Gracie really likes the roommate, and she's trustworthy.  But I'm gonna miss my baby!  ugh!  Tonight, after all the packing and shopping is done, I'll take G for a long run and play in the park.

I have 5 messages on my work voicemail and I don't have time to check them.  ACK! lol

Bad day for Prudence.  The neighbors called to tell me she had been whining for hours this afternoon.  She is so distressed I think by not being able to see JJ since I had to separate them due to her recent seizure.  Trying to make changes so that she can adjust easier, but it is hard when DH is still gone and she is stressed over that too.  She even vomited twice today.  Work doesn’t have enough for me to do right now, so I have to flex my time which really stinks, but I was happy to leave early today to go to the park and take some pictures. Unfortunately I got the call from my neighbor when I was there about Pru whining, so my time got cut short. :(

I still have house cleaning to do and have to go to the grocery store tonight to get all the stuff we need for a 3 day weekend in the mountains in the RV.  After this week, I am really glad we both took Monday off work to spend time together and  work on some wedding projects while enjoying hikes with the dogs

I know how you feel with Gracie. We're going to the Keys for a week in June and Pirate will stay with my mom. I'm so sad, but I know he'll be fine.

Get her one of those DAP collars that releases pheramones. I just put one on Dakota and it seems to be helping.

Today has been awful!!!  I got a promotion at work, & with the promotion comes a new office, assistant, & a nice pay raise.  I was ok with the raise & the assistant, but I like my old office.  Today, was "moving day" & everything that could go wrong did.  My desktop crashed, so I had to use my travel laptop.  Which was great until it crashed as well.  The IT guys are trying to recover my stuff, but it's been a total pita.

DH forgot about an appointment that we had this evening to look at a house & property, so I had to go alone.  When I got home, DH asks "Why are you so late getting home?" Hmm

He then tells me that he has already taken the dogs to the park (good dh!) but that they rolled in something, & everyone smells "dead" so they need a bath.(bad dh)

Later this evening, dh points out that I have a grey hair.  I'm already not looking forward to my b-day next week, but this makes it even worse.
