Hehe I'm the first vote! :)  I don't smoke, never have, and never will - almost everyone at work smokes so I will take breaks with them on nice days, but cigs just have no appeal (health effects and smell primarily).

I dont smoke either. Never seemed all that appealing to me. I waste my money enough on stuff Samantha or the dogs dont really need.

Smoked about three cigarettes when I was young, haven't touched one since.

Had my first and last cigarette when I was four years old. Stick out tongue My dad was a heavy smoker (which was probably one of the reasons why he had a massive coronary at 37 and died at 50) and I was always begging him for a puff.  One day he put one in my mouth and said "suck in."  I thought I'd die on the spot and never wanted another one.  My mom was furious with him at the time, but he probably did me a favor.

I smoked for something like 15 yrs then quit over the course of a month.

Nope. Never have and never will.  My dad was a smoker and my mom was years ago, but she quit when she had a massive asthma attack that almost killed her.  I just can't stand anything about smoking.  Plus, both of my grandfathers died of  smoking related cancers.

No.  My grandpa smoked and has had 4 heart attacks and other complications because of it.  My dad also smokes.  He had a large tumor removed from his neck before he was even 45 years old, and another smaller benign mass removed from under the skin on his back.  When he dislocated two ribs, he developed pneumonia b/c his lungs are in poor shape.  I love him just the same and respect that when he does smoke, he never smokes in the house and is pretty discreet, but I will never touch the cancer stick.  Luckily, I think that impressionable age/time of life during which I'd be most likely to try has already past.  I only have two friends that smoke, and I only see them smoke 2-3 times a year (very occasionally, when we are at a bar).

I don't anymore. I started smoking when I was 12, because I wanted to be cool like my older sisterConfused. I didn't quit until I was almost 18. I finally quit because DH told me a story about how his grandpa died of lung cancer and it was really hard on him (DH had to help take care of him). He said he wanted me to live a long happy life with him, so I quit. It was weird, I never thought it would be that easy. But I guess love can do good things to people.

I don't smoke. I can't stand the smell of it, it stinks!! My friends uncle smokes and wow it smells bad in their place.

Howcome you don't have an "I've quit and will never go back" option?  It's a whole different decision between never having smoked and being a "won't go back" quitter!

Second hand smoke isn't good for dogs .... either!

    • Gold Top Dog
Nope. Don't smoke. I did, and I stopped, and like Callie, Ill never go back! Cigarettes repulse me. They're absolutely disgusting, and worse yet, they'll kill you. My father has had 2 heart attacks (doesn't smoke anymore, but did, heavily, for 40 years) and my fiance's father just passed away from lung cancer that spread to his brain.

    Scary Stuff.

I used to smoke, and then I got pregnant and quit immediately.  I admit it, I miss it, especially when we are out and partying (which now is once every 3 or 4 months).  I did have a couple when we were in Vegas in February and I miss it.  But, it's way too expensive...$6 a pack, thats like half an outfit for Riley.  If I ever do have one when we are not away from her (party or something), there is NO WAY I would never smoke in front of her.  #1 - I want her to look up to me and how could I justify smoking to her #2 - the second hand smoke, which is most important, is something I don't ever want her around.

It's amazing how your perspective and priorities change once you are responsible for someone else.

I will say that ex-smokers that go around acting all righteous really get under my skin (DH is one of them Tongue Tied).  Those people and those that bash you for smoking and then try to bum smokes off you when they are drunk, drive me bonkers.

Never smoked, never will.  I can hardly be around smokers because I have an allergic reaction to cigerette smoke.  A lot of people on campus smoke though, and there I am trying to get to class without passing out from holding my breath between buildings so I won't get sick, lol.

I smoked when I was younger, but it was more for entertainment value than anything else.  I quit, & never missed it.
