Mindless Chatter - Thurs

Oy I have TONS of hair. I keep it long-ish because if it's short it turns into a poofball. I wish it would hold a curl! :( but it probably never will, especially in the land of humidity.

First of all it is an 'old wives tale' that 10 grow back. I actually have plucked a gray hair that has a dark root. I hate when I do that. About 5 years ago my hairstylist thought my hair would be 60% gray if we let it go natural.

My mother had cancer and lost her hair with chemo. She had a curl to her hair naturally but when her hair grew back it came back with the neatest curl to it. I was jealous! My mother, father and brother all have naturally curly hair. My brothers hair was so curly it would grow straight out like an afro. My hair holds a curl which I like, but I am hair innept so I can't curl it myself. That is why I decided to perm it. My straight hair is limp, thin and lifeless, but that is probably a me thing too.

I can't do human hair but I can braid a horses mane and tail with perfection!!! Made good money doing it professionally too!

Glenda I hope your job situation gets better for you very soon.

    BEVOLASVEGAS
    Way to go Bugs!

Thanks, Amanda.  He is so headstrong that he can really be a pain.  It is made more difficult because the trainer is really soft and soft doesn't work with B.  For instance the other night DH invited someone from work home for dinner.  This person is ex-military and a current state trooper about 6'4" and super fit.  Bugs was, as always, a bit too happy to meet him and did his usual I'll just sniff your crotch.  well the trooper never even looked down, just put his hand down and firmly but gently moved B's head.  B didn't try it again (once thwarted he usually will just keep at it).  The trooper had claimed his space, B respected that.

I really get the impression that the trainer knows that B doesn't respect him and could overpower him.  I wish B wasn't like that be he is.  It is what makes him difficult.  Anyway once you have B's focus, it is intense, very intense.  He locked in with me and stunned even me with some of what he did.

I got my hair cut and styled last night.  Then, someone asked me what high school I go to.  I graduated from college 2 years ago!

Be glad it's not the opposite, Lies.  I cut my hair at one point and felt like a soccer mom.  I don't have kids, and was single at the time.  Soccer mom was not the look I was going for.  My hair, oddly, gets even more curl/wave to it the longer it gets.

I've decided that I want a trophy for Jada's graduation.  So the next two weeks will be some hard-core training.  She can totally do it - she learns so fast.  I just gotta get her to not eat the Dachshund or his friend the Yorkie-mix thing that observes from the sidelines and squeaks like a toy.  Jada would love a crack at their little butts.

It's so gorgeous outside - 60 degrees and sunny. I brought the dogs with me back from lunch and just let them run loose (except for dakota) at the nature preserve behind my office. Neiko and Lily found a nice deer carcass (picked clean) and then went swimming in the pond. They are happy dogs. Plus it was a great break from being in the office. yay! Neiko, the little bugger, did not want to come when I called him to put their leashes back on. He's too smart for his own good.

So I take it you are not located downtown? Where is your office? I am totally jealous, I want to be outside preferably with my dogs. I realized on my PM walk around the hospital I should have gone outside. I am not used to nice weather. Hopefully tomorrow I can walk outside.

I'm out at C&T now - the address is still Lansing but it's closer to Diamondale. So, nope I'm not downtown anymore. I miss downtown but it's nice to be able to bring the dogs to work if I want. I bring Neiko in the office now and again. He's really good. I don't trust Lily or Dakota to be quiet inside so they stay in the car.

You should have gone for a walk outside! It's so nice!

I'm kinda cheesed that from now until the end of 2008, there are a whopping 7 AKC trials less than 4 hours drive from me.  THAT BITES!!  I'd have hit 7 trials in the summer alone back in NH!  Cripes!  This stinks!  And UKC has NOTHING, despite their being a club right in Tucson.  APDT has NOTHING, either.

Grrrr.... so, other than AKC, UKC, and APDT - what other venues do folks enter for Obedience trials??

Mindless Chatter?? Is this just a thread that you just kind of talk about anything?  I never chimed in on one before...

    Is that was this is?

    • Gold Top Dog

Lillie is still trying to figure out what in the world Tico is. I dont think she has ever seen a rabbit before.
Kujo thinks it's funny to stalk him. You know how Border Collies get into that low postion when herding? That is what Kujo is doing. It is so funny seeing a Chihuahua doing that.

Yep - it's just a place to ramble about your day or whatever else is on your mind.
