I bought a cocokapoo on line and we love her

Well I paid $850.00 for mine plus &250.00 deposit I wasnt looking for deal I could of bought a puppy here in california but didnt have what I wanted I got a sable cockapoo just what I was looking for and takes more of the cocker side so I wasnt looking for cheap was looking for a puppy I wanted to get

Was your puppy available right away or did you have to wait for her to be bred?  Does this breeder have all colors of cockapoos avaialable all the time?

You paid $1100 for a mixed breed dog that you could have adopted from a shelter for a fraction of the price.  I have a comment but I am biting my tongue.[:'(]
 

She was 4 weeks old when I first saw her we had to wait until she was 8 weeks to get her He has all colors but he doesnt get the sable very often.

You know what I have done my share in taking in animals my 4 house cats were wild kittens took them in at 4 weeks and kept all of them also when the mother of my kittens had another litter I hand fed them and found them homes we are in process of trying to catch the wild mother cat to get her fixed so get off my back about kennels I do my share so I paid for a puppy on line so what you act like it bothers you that we got a good puppy on line. You sound like your the one with a problem over all this not me. So whats up with this.

Like I said; it comes down to the simple reality that people want what they want when they want it. She bought a mutt for $1100.00. That's her right I guess.

Well we didnt buy a mutt and we didnt buy it to breed we bought her because its what we wanted. And why is it a bad deal to wait to get a dog we wanted to love and have forever with our grandkids so you dont even know what your talking about sounds like your not happy with a dog you may of bought.

Everyone has already said what I would want to say but I will say this:

A Cockapoo IS a mutt. It is a mix of 2 known breeds and is not a recognised breed of its own. It's a mutt.

Sorry yeah you bought a mutt - a mixed breed. A cockapoo is a mix between poodle and a cocker spaniel. I have nothing against mutts - Jem Finch was a borzoi/azawakh mix (I suppose if I spent $1100.00 for him I'd call him a Borzawakh).

I'm very happy with my dogs thanks. They're all rhodesian ridgebacks; Milo I got from the pound for  $30.00 and he has an AKC ILP (infinite listing privilege), and Yoshi and Nandi from Rhodesian Ridgeback rescue - Yoshi was somewhere in the vicinity of $300.00 since I got him as an 8wk pup, and Nandi was free. So it looks like I got 3 purebred dogs for 30% the cost of your mutt.

Sorry; forgot to answer your question. Here's what really gets my goat about these kinds of high priced mutt purchases. The HSUS (Humane Society of the United States) estimates we kill about 4 million unwanted cats and dogs in shelters in the US every year. You mean to tell me that your choice of mutt was so rare and esoteric that it was impossible to find one  on petfinder? You were forced, with no other options, to purchase online an $1100.00 mutt? And then ask what's the dealio?

Since you are new, I#%92ll tell you what my problem along with many of the other members problems are. Many of us work in rescue, myself included. On a very regular basis, we see very nice dogs that are put to sleep because there are not enough homes for all of these shelter dogs.
 
Most of these dogs are the product of a BYB, much like yours, who cares about nothing except turning a profit on these puppies. Sadly, people like yourself, continue to support these BYBs thus eventually increasing our already overcrowded shelters.
 
In my area many of these BYBs drop off the pups that didn#%92t sell from their last litter. As the pups get older & less cute & cuddly, they just don#%92t sell. The BYB dumps his/her problem on someone else & goes off to breed another litter & make another dollar.
 
That is the short list of my problems, I have many more if you really want to know.
