Brando had his surgery today and I am in a quandary

    Hi Deb,
I haven't been here is sooo long, but needed to stop in and see how darling little Brando is doing after his surgery.  Poor little guy, it's hard to believe it, but in a few days he'll be raring to go.  Misty (who had both knees done at one time, and then further surgery on the right knee six months later) was MISERABLE for the first 4 days following each surgery, just as Brando is now.  Then, snap, she perked up and started eating and moving about more.  She did have alot of accidents in the house at that time, but we forgave her, as we were happy just to see her pee.  Since she is so little, we supplemented her diet with nutri cal paste as she was recovering.  She didn't poo for days after the surgery, and the surgeon called it "normal" for that to happen for as many as five days following and not to worry.

Brando's lucky to have such a loving mom.

    Hi Deb,
Give Brando big hugs and snuggles from myself and my hubby Timothy...
Tell Brando to eat up all his good yummy food....
We're praying for him to get better soon...
    Maria

    Brando,
It's your buddy Talus....you eat up all that good food mummy is giving you...
Rest up and get better soon....pee whenever you can, and know that I'm
    thinking about you....

When kayCee had her surgeries I had never used a computer, didn't even know about such things as dog forums.  I winged it alone so am always happy if my experience can help someone else out.  It is scarey.  I was so worried about kayCewe "undoing" the job, but she didn't..  Apparently large dogs seem to want to get more active sooner and to many owners let them.  That is why my vet prefers to work on smaller dogs.  i am sure your guy is gonna be just fine andable to do things all dogs do tht don't have ad knees.

Guess who walked  outside to pee on all 4 legs!?
This little dog is amazing and I am so pleased, however this means I will have my hands full a lot sooner than I thought.[&o]
Thanks for all the well wishes and advice.

Brando, okay, now you're pushing it, kiddo.  I know you probably have something to prove but don't be silly.  Rest so your mama can rest.  You're making her nuts(er).  Kisses to both B & T.

    Dear Brando,

We are so glad you are feeling well enough to try to resume your normal life. However, do not overdo it please. Let time do its work by resting as much as you can. Do not drive your mom bonkers by wanting to do too much too soon. You know she'll give you anything you need and is taking the bestest care of you.

Yahhhhh Brando!  Now remember to take it easy for a little while, cause you have to keep mom feeling a little sorry for you.  You get the really good treats that way.
