Of course you have a right to be scared.  I've got no experience with something like this but hopefully someone else here does and will chime in.  Any news from the breeder?

You have every right to be scared. I do hope everything works out for you and you do get a puppy.

That is scary!!  I would be scared too.  Fingers and paws crossed that all will be okay and you will get your puppy in 8 weeks.

     Hi Shaylan,

I just got back.  I haven't slept for the past couple of days.  I've been staying up with Rachel and the puppies at my friend Cindy's in her shed. She started having her puppies late Monday evening.  She had 5 puppies by 4 in the morning, then she stopped.  We could feel more in there but sometimes they do take a while in between puppies so we waited.  When we didn't have anything by 8 when the vet opened we called.  He was away on an emergency and we were told to take her in a little later.  There was a puppy stuck which is what the problem was.  He had to do an emergency c-section and while he was at it we had him spay her.  Once they have a c-section chances are they have to have them from that point on.  We didn't want to take any chances.  She had 5 more puppies inside.  The one that was stuck was gone when they took it out.  The second one they removed died within minutes after being taken out.  They continued to work on the other three.  We ended up taking home the only 2 that made it along with Rachel.  They were all very weak and Rachel was still sedated.  She stopped eating and we really thought we were going to lose her.  I was devastated.  I had to hand feed the two that were taken from her.  She's finally starting to perk up a bit. The puppies were all real thin and weak we were starting to supplement the ones that were with her to keep them healthy.  The runt she pushed away this morning and wouldn't let it nurse.  So I have 3 I brought home with me tonight.  There are 7 puppies, but I'm not sure the one is going to make it. All of them are females but one.  All females are brindle but one.  I have no idea what the stud owner is going to pick.  I'll let you know what they decide on so you know what you have to choose from.  They are supposed to have their tails and toes done tomorrow.  I'm not sure if they are all getting done because some of them are weak.  The procedure will put them into shock as weak as they are and they will certainly not make it.  We'll see how tomorrow goes.  I'll e-mail you tomorrow evening sometime.  I am exhausted so I'm off to bed finally.

    Take care.

    Sandy

That is scary!  Any word on how mom is?
    • Gold Top Dog
i think she is ok im really not that sure
    • Gold Top Dog
Oh I hope everything goes ok.  It sounds like some of the pups are doing ok though doesn't it?  Is there a reason that the mom whelped in the friends shed and not in the house?
    • Gold Top Dog
they were whelped in the shed because it has all the stuff it was set up like a birthing center .the reason the were whelped there is because the bredder has a young daughter. i think some of the pups are doing ok at least i hope
    • Gold Top Dog
I hope that the mom is doing better and that the pups are putting on some weight!

While momma and the  babes certainly have my prayers, I would RUN, not walk away from this breeder.  Too many things went way wrong, and yeah, sometimes stuff happens, but I've never had a litter that my vet, or a backup wasn't on call and ready for anything, and I've NEVER whelped a litter in a shed.  Children can be sent from the room, or allowed to watch, but you don't put a momma in a shed to whelp, even in warmer weather.

glenda-Im not leaving this breeder  she test her animals and is a good breeder i have emailed some of the  people that have bought her puppys before they are very happy i have ran away from alot of breeders but this one im not
    • Gold Top Dog
That has to be your call, but I sure wouldn't use her.  You said that she is very experienced, yet she almost lost her momma and DID loose several of the pups.  C sections in boxers are NOT an uncommon occurance so this shouldn't have taken her totally by surprise.  JMHO
