Do u thinkdog cloths are cruel

What's a dog cloth?

o sorry i meant clothes

I think it depends upon the dog.  My two need warm jackets before they go outside on cold days, and snoodies on those cooler days.  I don't dress them up to be all cutesy or anything like that.  Mostly because well, I'm a guy and I'm not into that sort of thing.  I do know some people that dress up their PHs and they are ridiculously cute in their little outfits.

I only "dress up" Otto when it is really cold out, which is pretty much never her in los angeles.  People here are crazy, I've seen dresses and shoes on little dogs at the mall.  I'm not sure if it qualifies as cruel but I can't imagine the dogs like it.  At that point it's about the owner's wants/needs and not the dog.

Now that being said I have no problem with the occasional dress-up for a cute picture :)

My Dachshund, Teenie, loves clothes. She also loves having her nails trimmed, filed, and painted. She likes to smell good, too. Before I got her, she'd probably had very little or no exposure to luxury pet items. She LOVES the attention. She LOVES pretty collars, leashes, harnesses. She likes pretty, foo foo, dog beds. She's a little priss. I completely indulge her. She deserves it.

Emma, on the other hand, does not like clothes. She only wears them when it's cold.

No I don't think they are cruel...often times I think the are downright a necessity for many dogs.  Nikki wore a sweater in the winter to help keep snowballs from forming on her belly.  All of the greyhounds I've met had winter attire since I live in a region subjected to changing of the seasons and cold winters.  Dog boots are great, particularly if you live in an area that's heavily salted in the winter.

As for playing dress up with the dogs, well I have to admit some of those outfits are really darn cute.  I'm not personally into it, but if the dog doesn't mind I don't see the harm.  Plus some dogs just looove the attention they get in those outfits!

Only if the dog that's wearing them is embarrassed. [;)]

no i use a nice warm jacket on luigh when we go for walks it keeps her very warm and she doesnt mind it at all

4 of my 5 dogs love clothes.  Chyna gets embarrased when I try to dress her up, so she only wears a jacket if it is really cold.  Bevo, on the other hand, feels that he should get to wear clothes full time.  He won't sleep at night without his pjs on.  There is nothing as funny as a big doberman carrying around his yellow bunny pjs.

Max got a sweater for Christmas and he wore it during the freeze we had.  He didn't seem to mind it at all ... that could be because the sweaters from Old Navy are made to slip on and off really easily so I didn't have to struggle at all to wrestle him into it. [:D] In some parts of the country, heavier jackets and doggie boots are really a necessity rather than a "fashion statement."

I've got a windbreaker/raiuncoat for Bugsy which he wears in extreme cold ( he has a very short thin coat) and in the rain if its cool out.
I have tried to put a t shirt on him and he goes nuts - once it was hysterical he actually wound up eating it off

Dog clothes, bows, barrettes, bandana's, etc, are fine. My little Trudy loves them. She comes up to me if I have a dress, etc.

If the dog is upset, or uncomfortable, it is not good.

Of course when it is SUPER cold outside, a think many dogs need to wear something, even if they do not like it for a little while, just to stay warm.

I do not leave the house if Trudy has something on. JUST in case something happens. Comfort and safetly is what matters.     Sally

CoCo shivers and shake when it's cold out, so she has tons of coats and jackets for the cold.

But I admit.... most of her clothes are because I think are adorable!  Other than that she doesnt mind 'em.  But when it's warm out, she definitely will be without.

ETA She is totally NAKED when she is crated though.
