Dakota and Neiko went to my sisters with me where they played with their fav. corgi cousins Molly and Spirit. Well actually Dakota just lorded over the action while Neiko, Molly and Spirit chased frisbees and wrestled. they were all happy dogs

I woke up to some snow and took the dogs out in the yard for a long playtime.

We went to my grandparents and let the dogs have another trial reign of the house, for 7 hours!  Again, no incident.

When we got back we took them for a 2.5 mile walk even though it was dark and freezing.

I only fed them part of their meal b/c I didn't want them to eat it all before the walk.  Now I'm going to feed them and give them some leftover turkey.

They hibernated today. We do not do Thanksgiving so no big gathering anywhere but a cold front came thru and they both decided that outings out today were not a good idea. Windy, cold, winter is here (our high was in the low 50s after yesterday in the upper 70s, that's winter for us in Louisiana). We had several scritching sessions and that was about it.

Haha, if it's above 65 here Kenya is too hot and won't do more than 5 minutes of physical activity at a time.  She LOVES the sleet and snow flurries we've been having.  Anytime I stand up they run to the door and plead with their eyes.  I hate winter and snow so it's a good thing they are soooo cute!

I was just about to start a new thread on this!  Well, there was a little bit of snow on the ground today, but things carried on as usual.  When I left to my grandmother's house for dinner, I left poor Riley in his crate with his kibble in a bowl.  As soon as I came back, I let him go potty outside and when I brought him back in, I cut off some pieces of turkey from the leftover carcass (my mom likes having the carcass so that she can use the bones to make some kind of stew thing) and fed it to him.  He loved it!  Now he's sitting next to me in the chair and he seems pretty content.

Pirate went with me to my sisters in the afternoon, and helped clean up her apartment since grandma is coming tomorrow. At dinnertime I had to work :( so he went with my sister to our moms and had kibble with turkey, gravy, and green beans. He also snitched a bite of pie :)

LOL, 'at the spa' is what we call it when our town bum gets picked up and brought out to the branch jail.

Casey and Jaegar spent Thanksgiving begging for scraps under the table Stick out tongue

They were very well  behaved, layed down when they were told, etc. We had friends over with 3 small children - one still an infant - both dogs were great. They let the kids walk them around the block, and were constantly checking baby Rachel for 'leftovers' and seemed to be very concerned when she cried! Was very cute =]

    over all - great day

Max just hung around with us until it  was time for us to go to dinner.  I guess he just slept while we were gone - that's what he usually does.  I put a paper towel in my pocket before we left so I could bring him a nice little pile of turkey which he enjoyed and I shared a bit of pumpkin pie with him. Now he's sprawled across the bed (I turned the blanket on for him) and he's snoozing again.

This was our first Thanksgiving not traveling to see family, so we volunteered to do a short-term foster of a dog from a local rescue. We figured that since we were going to be home, we'd take in a dog who would otherwise be spending the holiday in a cage. We picked up Pebbles on Wednesday evening, and she and Jack were instant friends. They spent nearly all day today playing -- chasing each other around the backyard, playing tug, and wrestling like crazy puppies.

Here's a link to her write-up online, in case anyone in the Bay Area might be interested in a sweet, 10-month-old Cattle Dog/Foxhound mix. She's a really affectionate, goofy pup who has a lot of potential. She needs someone to work on her with manners, but she's going to make someone an awesome dog.

I'm hoping to get some pictures of Jack and Pebbles playing tomorrow. They're cute together. She's a lot smaller than him, and when they wrestle, he eagerly rolls onto his back so that she can jump on top and bite his face and legs. Ah, puppy love.

Kaz spent the last two days making sure anything edible that landed on the floor didn't get stepped on.  We had a dusting of snow this morning, which he was a little apprehensive about, until I scraped together a few snowballs off of the bench.  He didn't want to come in after that.  This was his first snow experience, I can't wait for some more serious snow, it should be a fun winter.

He's had a busy couple of days, as we prepared a meal for 10 people.  Little food driven & sleep deprived dog passed out on the couch next to my mom after everyone ate.  Kitchen sounds mean food, while he knows food doesn't come from the table, food prep in the kitchen is a different story, as I cook like a guy, which means gravity has an effect on food.  He can't pass this up, no matter how tired he is.

We spent a quiet day together, DH and me.  I swear April did not sleep all day because she smelled that turkey in the oven.  She was very quiet, as she should be now.  But I'm thankfull that she is still here at least.  She seems better, keeping our fingers crossed and lots of prayers.

We went to my daughter's house, which is about an hour away. We took them with and they too, enjoyed some turkey and ham. They were very good and got to run around the big yard with our daughters's dog, Maggie.

ha it's 20 degrees outside right now and Dakota begged me to let her outside (in fact, she jingled the bells on the back door, something she normally doesn't do). She's been curled up outside in a ball (That famous husky snowball, I call it) for over an hour now. My dogs LOVE the winter weather especially snow.
