how did your dog(s) spend Thanksgiving?

    Jewlieee
ha it's 20 degrees outside right now and Dakota begged me to let her outside (in fact, she jingled the bells on the back door, something she normally doesn't do). She's been curled up outside in a ball (That famous husky snowball, I call it) for over an hour now.

I'm dying for it to snow here!  It'll be Honor's first experience with snow, and I want to see if she does the AKK version of the husky snowball!

And Honor spent the day with DH and I at my mom's house.  She got her own bowl of home-cooked goodness, and all sorts of turkey scraps from various family members. Smile

Marynh - those photos are adorable !

Liesje - even tho I'm more than happy to never see snow again (one of the reasons I moved from NY to Florida) I have to say that you're photos actually made me miss the stuff a wee little bit.   I actually like a light dusting of snow - its the heavy stuff that I just can't stand !

Prancer didn't have the greatest of Thanksgivings.   We had a houseful of people and she had to stay in her crate the whole time (still recouperating from the luxating patella / tendon / possible partial ccl tear).   She was NOT happy at all at first but then she settled down a little bit -- as long as we kept moving her and the crate to an area where she could be the center of attention LOL.   Of course everyone felt mighty sorry for her so she gots lots and lots of extra atention.   Goodness knows how much Prancer loves that !

Cute pics MaryNH!  I live in Manchester, NH!

Sophie spent the day at home with us since we hosted, my cranky grandmother was very bossy of her which really annoyed me!   I think she had fun though, got lots of attention from the dog lovers in the family!  Also had a nice breakfast of turkey neck!

We did our typical "beddytimes away". My family is 2000 miles away and of course David is Scottish so Thanksgiving just doesn't make sense to him.  (10 years and it's still just nonsense to him)

I learned several years ago that if we stay home David will wind up AT WORK.  So we always take off -- either for the beach, or for a day at a theme park with an overnight built in.  The last couple of years we've gone to Busch Gardens.

They have a great pet kennel (air-conditioned and really nice HUGE kennels) so we get ONE big one and all 3 have ample room.  By the time both Davey and I get out of work on Wednesday, get home & packed and leave usually it's like 10:30 before we leave Altamonte.  This year it was a bit later than usual -- and we didn't check into the motel til like 1:30 a.m.

But then we watch the parade in the morning and schlep on over to the Park -- the big restaurant is really pretty nice and serves a more than decent turkey dinner for $13.95 (including dessert) and we get to sit and watch all the zebra, giraffes, antelope, etc during the meal.

Busch also has a lorikeet aviary where you can buy nectar and feed the birds -- so passing a few hours is NOT a problem for me *grin*

Picked up the pups at the on-site kennel -- oh myyyyyyyyy they SO love being fawned over by people!!  LOL

last evening was just pretty much chill out and cuddle.  We slept in this morning and checked out by 11 and headed home.

Not 'typical' but fun for us.  And the BEST part was we were all together!!  My family is small but being together is the best.

Wyatt spent all day trying to sneak into the kitchen. Even though i got on him like 30 times, he still went in. It also didn't help that people were giving out food to him. Kaiser had to stay home :(  my mom already has 3 dogs, and 1 is majorly dog aggressive so i had to choose 1 dog to take. Wyatt has to stay crated while i'm gone, so i took him.

They were home w/ us since we had it here, and boy what a pain (especially Misty & and that "lucky he's still alive" cat of ours) they were.  My house isn't that big, and since Misty just has to follow you and everyone else everywhere, she just got under foot constantly.  We put them all downstairs, while we ate, since Misty's the only one who can reach the top of the table, I wasn't takin' any chances!  The cat on the other hand, is lucky to still be alive since, he peed on a bag of clothes I had downstairs, and then later pooped on my couch!  I wanted to throw him outside, but my husband wouldn't let me...I don't know why?  Oh, yeah, well I guess the who declawed thing...big deal, it's not like he would leave the porch...oh, yeah, it was in the 30's, but still, I think it would have done him (at least me) good!

Well..... our dogs spent the day lounging with us. I set up dinner buffet style on my dining room table....... no sooner had we said grace and got two bites of food in our mouths we heard this crunching noise....... there was Shiloh with the turkey leg!  Looked like it had gone through a meat stripper! I was worried about the bones splintering but she's fine. We took the rest away from her and gave both the dogs some turkey.  I learned that when your dog can rest their head on your table...... move the plate back!

Sniper had a blast on Thanksgiving. We went over to my DH's parents house, and my parents came along as well. My DH's brother was there, and he has 4 kids, ages 5-11 years old and they are very high energy. I was a little worried it would be overwhelming for Sniper since she hasn't been around that much energy for prolonged periods of time. I was so proud of her. I brought her "time out" mat, where she usually goes when we eat at home, and I put her on her mat with a nice RMB to chew on.  She stayed on that all through our dinner and then played hard with the kids afterwards. She loved it! Then she of course begged for some scraps of turkey afterwards from my MIL (which she got!) as we put away the food, and then played some more with the boys outside in the snow. She passed out on the ride home and I think slept the remainder of the evening she was so worn out! I think she had a good turkey day. Smile

Mary, I never realized how tall Molly is! Love the pictures!
