    RED SOX!!!

Yaaaaay, they are really doing fantastic.  Anyone else been paying attention to the games? Going to be a lot of sleepy people in work Thursday, if they show up that is~

Anyone see the Irish step dancing on the field, err well the attempt at that, funny.  They interviewed the kids at the Boston school and they were so cute and totally amused...

      it ....

Have to say I'm a tiny bit bummed about the Indians losing.

I dont' really care...as football and hockey season both are far more important than baseball...BUT I have pulled for the tribe since I saw "Major League" way back when LOL.

I am sure it was rigged tho because c'mon...NO ONE was going to watch the series if it was the Indians and Rockies...no one...ratings after all...are what keep the machine running, lol. So it's good for the networks/baseball that the Sox got in.

As for me? I am more interested in the list of HGH cheaters that's due to be released after the series is over. THAT should be very interesting indeed! I have a few guys I am wondering about...

    • Gold Top Dog

    Agggghhhhh!  Blasepmy Gina!

What about the Indians players who's been using performance enhancing drugs right along?  Scarey stuff.

But, Game One of the World Series isn't until TOMMOROW nite.....opens in Boston.

    • Gold Top Dog

Yep that pitcher joins a long and oh so un-distinguished list...likely to be longer after the list is released. It's getting ridiculous...no one feels like talent is enough anymore, sad.

Oh, come on!   I know you're joking, right?  Wink

If you think that HGH is exclusive to a certain group of individuals, that would be interesting to see...  Basically, they all get injuries.  But how much medicine should be allowed. And what kind, then how is fairness determined.   And who do you trust in athletic society today.  If they can get a hold of these things it looks like they are going to.  It is shameful and the competitive edge is more important than how the game was played ... But it is still great to see Red Sox doing GREAT!

Red Sox have the best record in all of baseball, so I think they won fair and square;o) We went to saturdays game and it was awesome!!!!! I got Meri a little pink red sock hat and a shirt that says there's no crying in Boston unless you're a Yankees fan!!! My dad is a yankees fan, so I'll be sure to have her wear it when he's around!!!!!

    Can't wait for game 1!!!!!

    • Gold Top Dog

That is cute, "no crying unless your a yankee fan!"  Too cute..

I can't believe people slept outside in tents last night for tickets.  And the internet site went down due to all of the hits!  People are maniacal about this. ; )

We will watch it in the happy comfort of home.  Hope the weather is good for the game.

Looks like we have the makings for a clean sweep!!  Last game could be tonights.  Party!!!
    • Gold Top Dog

PLEASE don't get me wrong...I love my Red Sox.  I love baseball in general.  But please, please let them sweep and be done with it tonite!  I'm soooooo sick of hotdogs I could just puke.

See, RedSox fans are a wee bit superstisious.  If it works ONCE eating a certain thing, and then it happens to work a second time, well, ya gotta keep eating that......I've eaten enough all beef hotdogs to have decimated a whole cow.

Wed nite we had vanilla lattes before the hot dogs.  Two each (we have an espresso machine).  Nice big win.  Thursday we didn't and the game was a squeeker.  So, last nite, back to the lattes and again a high scoring win.  Oh, and the buns Thursday weren't toasted......last nite, Wed nite, all the other games, they were.

Same with clothing.....you MUST wear the exact same thing each and every game and it cannot be laundered between games.  I DO draw the line at undies tho.  We each have a certain game uniform and by golly it better not vary or they might not win.  And I'm telling you, I'm not going to vary a single thing if it means one less nite of eating hotdogs!

Now, no body MAKES me follow these silly rituals, and as an intelligent human being I KNOW better.......but whose gonna be the first to step on a crack at the risk of their mothers back?

    • Gold Top Dog

Wow, they won it!  Parade to follow!!

Glenmar, how did you come to root for the Red Sox?  Are you from NE?

Local chain, Jordan's Furniture promised free furniture and took out an insurance plan for this in case of win, and they are paying out.  A hotel did over the entire business in new furniture, now it is free!  Some people didn't even have room for deliveries and just put it all in storage...Now that is a bunch of "believers"...How nice !

    • Gold Top Dog

Actually, no.  I grew up in MI, a Tigers fan.  DH is from Boston tho, and for the first year of our marriage we remained a two team family.....then he took me to Fenway and the rest is history.  Fenway is so magical that I almost think no matter how bad the team sucks, the park itself sucks folks into its charm and you just become a fan.

Off to hang the Red Sox banner with the American flag!

    • Silver

    YAHOOOOO!!!  Clean sweep.

I knew they were going to do it.

    • Gold Top Dog

Hooray!  I actually watched it, although I am not a big sports fan.  But I did grow up in MA...  Good playing, Sox!

    • Gold Top Dog

Thank heavens I can stop eating HOTDOGS!!  And I can actually launder my clothing.  Getting pretty bad when your motivation for wanting a sweep is dietary!

I was so happy to see them win with Lester on the mound.  That guy has been through an awful lot in the past year, and by golly, he deserved to win the big game.

Anyone else hoping that FOX does not get the Series again?  Gosh, they really sucked.  I caught a glimpse of a great play by one of the Red Sox, but they went on with their interview of Francona and didn't show a replay of it......and sorry, I'm in the advertising world, and I do get it, but it's sheer greed to extend the pregame THAT long by showing 60 seconds of programming and then cutting to 3 or 4 minutes of commercials.

All the announcers kept ragging on about how Curt Shilling isn't the same pitcher that he used to be.  So?  He's still darned effective on the mound and maybe pitch speed isn't as important as pitch location?  One of the Indians pitchers was routinely throwing 97, 98 mph and was so wild that I just had to laugh about the importance of pitch speed.....I think he pitched against Shilling.  Why continue to rag on and on and on about someone not being the same player they were 3 years ago?  Which of them are?  Bottom line is that Shilling still wins games and that's what matters.  And, by golly, between him and Becket in post season?  Well, we've got the answer to that one.

I actually thot that TBS did a better job with the playoffs than FOX did with the Series.  Pretty disappointing coverage, but, the end result is pretty darned cool!

The NY who??  Oh, and by the way, if I didn't really hate the Yanks before, the ousting of Joe Tori completely did it for me.  Steinbrener is such a horses hind end.

    • Gold Top Dog

I didn't know they would actually do it!  But it sure is great,  parade is going to be when?

Glenmar, that is cool!  Did you go to any of the awesome places in town?  Around Faneuil Hall there is plenty to do.

Weather is pretty nice for a parade, maybe we will show up with the huskies!
