You are very appreciated Brenda and being less available is not the approach I hope you'll take.  As Laura says, "I would hate to see more respectful, kind, and knowlegeable people go. As they go, the balance swings towards the negative posters".   That is absolutely true and would be very sad. 

Guys as much as I appreciate all the kind words, this ISN'T about just me.  This is about the treatment that a number of us "old folks" have been getting lately.  For someone to come right out and say that Sandra is "of a generation" that is resistent to change is absurd.  And hurtful.
 
Again, I'm not leaving, nor am I threatening to leave.  All I'm saying here is that perhaps it's time for us "oldies" to be less available on the forum.  I'm always available for "private" questions, and I'll continue to be so.  It's just become abundently clear to me lately that us "old folks" just aren't valued by some forum members.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but they must also respect others opinions regardless of how absurd, or wrong or whatever they may be.  We just need respect on this forum thats all.

Sorry Brenda - I hadn't seen that post and you're right, it's absurd and hurtful.  I don't just say that because I'm pretty close to the same age range [] either. 
 
Funny (or not) but sometimes when I'm driving and someone cuts me off or drives real rudely, I think "I'll bet the nasty posters on dog.com are like this too" [sm=uhoh.gif] 

Now what did I miss, I know I haven't been on a lot but enough, that I should have noticed things this upsetting.

Nothing specific really......just hateful comments to OTHERS that have my britches in a bundle.....

I dont really understand how you can feel  that way when so many people are telling you they want you around and appreciate you (and all the "old folks").  I agree that some people may have been rude to you and to a lot of other people... but by no means are they the majority here.  And why would you chose to concerntrate on them instead of all the wonderful people who dont do that and who are very friendly??

I completely agree with you and understand how you feel, but I think you should focus on all of the good people instead of the few bad ones.

And like someone else said its like give in to those few mean people... and the forum will eventually change even more because all the nice people are here less often.  They will be weeded out soon enought Im sure if they continue.  I wish all the nicer people who are here for the right reasons could just ignore them until they decide to leave, or get booted for it.

Everyone is trying to tell you how much they do appreciate your(and the others) input and company, so I hope ya'll pay more attention to us than to them []

You know Glenda when I was growing up we learned to respect our elders, most younger people today do not do that and that seems to be more and more apparent on the internet and in real life.
I don't think you guys need to back down and think the younger smarty pants need to back down.

I was taught that if someone hadn't earned my respect, I still had to FAKE it.....my sons were taught that too.  Shame that more haven't been!
