Ed - I'm sending healing vibes to Gaia, and calming vibes for you and Xerxes.  You'll both have your girl back soon.

What a big incision though, I didn't think the incisions were so large...Maybe it's just me though, having never seen the direct "day of" surgery results.  She was also a bit "groany" and talkative.

You know, I felt the same way when I saw Trixie's scar -- not just stitches but staples too and the incision was huge!  Of course, our problem was she had been spayed at a very young age & since she was brought in as a stray, nobody knew.  I hope Gaia is home -- happy, healthy and feeling much better today!

I've been following this but haven't posted.  Ed, I'm glad that Gaia is A-Okay!  Wishes for a full and speedy recovery.

Good luck to Gaia! You sure did the right thing. I lived with a female with those cysts for a year before doing something about it - it just never occured to me that the quick cycles might be a pathological problem, as working BCs are often weird about their cycles anyway.

Jen was a whiner too! I put her crate on my bed (I was bedridden at the time) and we napped together and it seemed to help. I don't know whether you can leash her next to you or whatever but snuggling does seem to help. [:D]

So is the lovely lady of the house back from the vet yet?

Here's to a speedy recovery! Give her lots of smooches and treats to get well soon! [sm=happy.gif]

Bird dog smootches to Gaia! She's a lucky girl having such an attentive owner.  I'm sure she will be feeling great when it's all over with.

I had Jade, our cat, spayed by our vet. His technique was so good that I can't find the incision. And now, the fur is just about all grown back. The only proof I have is that she no longer goes in heat and I have a receipt from the vet's office for the surgery. There were external stitches that had to be removed 10 days after op. I kept her separated in a room (about 4 to 5 days) until she had getaway speed. I had her spayed in October. But you can't tell anything, now. I think the operation gave her the ability to fly. When she tears through the house, she can sail about 4 feet off the end of the couch at mach 2.

How is Miss Gaia doing?  Is she home yet?
    • Gold Top Dog
She's going to feel so much better. Cystic ovaries hurt! Poor girl.

Lots of warm fuzzies and healing thoughts, her way.

wellll??? Is she home yet?? How's she doing???

I'll be picking her up after work tonight.  I've called twice today to check on her (my vet's office thinks I'm nuts) and she's eaten, vomited (probably b/c they use a SD maintenance formula and my dogs don't normally eat anything with any poultry) and she's gone back to bed.

Tonight I'll be able to fall asleep with no problems.  She's such a good cuddle bunny.  I'll post more after I pick her up.
