What is your favorite size of dog?

    Size doesn't matter anyways...personality does tho...(laffin)

i agree....size doesnt matter to me either

I guess I'll be the first to say that yes, size in a dog does matter to me. I like Large breeds the best, and Medeum second. I don't think I would ever have a giant breed, but some of the huge dogs are pretty cool.  I prefer large dogs because they're good to cuddle with, you don't have to worry about losing them or having them slip out when you're not looking ( if they're too small), you can play fetch with them and other somewhat 'rough' games and it won't hurt them. You can pet them without having to worry about hurting them and being too gentle. I also find they're a lot easier to control. The collar is farther up so I don't have to bend down when I'm hanging on to the collar and walking! It's easier to handle problems such as jumping with a bigger dog,  they don't yap when they bark, and it's not as easy for them to get away with things, you don't tend to spoil them too much. Just a few reason why I like Large dogs best [:)]

I prefer small or medium, but I would gladly have a lot of large breeds, too :)

Medium (between 20-45lbs and 14-21"), definitely. I also like large dogs up to about 70lbs (not exceeding 25"), but my preference is for medium. Tollers are the perfect size to me. Not too big, not too small. If something were to happen, I could easily lift my dog and carry it somewhere if need be. I like that. That being said, I also like many of the giant breeds, I just wouldn't want to own one myself. I also like small dogs, but prefer not to own them either for various reasons. I'll probably never again own a dog under 20lbs or over 70lbs, give or take a few with the exception of maybe one more Miniature Dachshund someday.

Emma-size is just about right, for me. Teenie's a smidge on the small side, but she's nice to carry. Emma is perfect snuggling size, for me. She's 13 1/2", and about 18 pounds. Teenie is 8", and 11 pounds.

I've never owned a small dog, but I've had cats, and I liked holding and cuddling them, and having them on my lap. My Laddie bear was the perfect size, at 100lbs it was like he was made to fit in my arms. Tonka is 80 pounds and more compact. He's a good size, but just not as solid as Laddie was. I think small dogs are cute as can be, but don't know if I could own one because I think their personalities are different from that of a larger dog. So I guess the larger the dog, all the more for me to hug, the better.

    All of them. :)

I love how convienently sized Corgis are- they're big enough to keep up on trail rides but not so small you can't carry them back when they get tired. :)

I love the big graceful collies.

And there's something just darling about smallish dogs, although I'm not interested in anything smaller than a papillon or a larger pom.

Giant dogs are okay but wouldn't own one- just take up too much space.

I like all but if you put a dog in front of me I would go with medium or large, because i love Rottweilers, APBT. all dog are fine and at the  moment we have three small and one medium! =)
    • Gold Top Dog
    medium-giant for me.
I always get SO scared I'll step on a small breed dog and break their little toes.
    • Gold Top Dog
Well, I probably would PREFER a small breed, but I wouldn't own a large or giant breed unless I think that I can handle it.

The tiny little dogs make me nervous....I used to tell Brenda that I couldn't have a min pin cuz they are so tiny I would break them for sure.  A chi?  forget it!  I'd spend my life terrified of stepping on the poor thing....

I'm partial to the large and giant dog.  Dalmatians, lab, Kuvasz, Great Danes etc...,  those are the dogs I gravitate too.  I like the smaller dogs, but I'm just worried about stepping on them or shutting the door on them and hurting them.  I love  the little dogs, but I'm just to clumsy to have them.  3 cats are enough animals to have to trip over on my stairs.
