I like Fanning.  Dakota and Fanning...kinda has a ring to it.

    LOL

Dakota Fanning is an actress. Is that why you suggested that name??

Whats wrong with car names for dogs? My pupper is named Jetta!!![8D]
    • Gold Top Dog
    Of course that's why...was that not clear...sorry.

    I think she's a cutie.

I have a client with dogs named Carson and Palmer (Carson Palmer...the best quaterback in the NFL...maybe the greatest of ALL time!!!!).

    Also Tom and Jones.

    Also Elvis and Presley

I thought Dakota and Fanning might be cute.

No brilliant suggestions here, just an odd thought.

If I had a nickel for every dog named Jake,  my son (whose name is Jake) would be able to go to Harvard!

I once knew a dog named Tina.  Also had an acquaintance who had named a plant Tina the b*tch!  Neither was named after me! [sm=rofl.gif]

Jettas mom, nothing is wrong with car names, so long as they are not american cars.

i like denali for a girl but not a boy, its such a pretty name.  but wyoming was what popped into my mind for a match, i dont know why.  but it would be a pretty name )
    • Gold Top Dog
    Ooo, Tundra!

    Tundra--Toyota pickup
    Cheyenne --Chevy pickup
Denali --GMC equivalent to a Tahoe
    Montana --minivan
    Sienna --Toyota minivan
    Sierra --GMC pickup

Do we see a pattern here?[:D]

I can't help that the people who name vehicles have good taste!!![:D]   When we named our puppy Dakota, the truck name never even entered our minds (after all, we are Honda people).  It wasn't until trying to figure out a female name that goes with Dakota that we realized that some of the names we liked were names for vehicles.[sm=lame.gif]  I suppose there's nothing wrong with that since many of the names seem regal in our opinion!!!

Please keep the names coming!!![;)]  I've seen several that have caught my attention!!!  Also, our girl will probably look a lot like this but have less of a ruff:

Lorib, don't forget Dodge Dakota!![:D][:D]  Goodness, I didn't realize that Cheyenne was a Chevy truck.  We don't have trucks, and we sure don't have American trucks.  (No offense - We just love our Hondas and always have!!)

I like Montana, but have you thought about Maya?
    • Gold Top Dog
I have a friend with a choc lab that is named Montana and she's Tana for short.  He and I met and became friends when we both attended the Univ of Montana.  Beautiful country, gorgeous mountains and don't forget Glacier National Park!!

I have a friend with a choc lab that is named Montana and she's Tana for short...

I know someone on another board with a GSD named Montana.  She calls her Tana, too.

Well, I have a friend who has two Samoyed's, both female, one named Echo and the other is Brigitta, from the Sound of Music.  [:)]

How about Sonata??  I don't think it's made by Honda, they don't have good names though.

Here is a site that has all kinds of names, I kept it on the Native American page since that's what kind of name Dakota is.  [linkhttp://www.lowchensaustralia.com/names/nativeam.htm]http://www.lowchensaustralia.com/names/nativeam.htm[/link]

OK, one more, LOL, one name I really love is Lea, no H.  You probably had a student with that name, too, huh??  [:)]

Jean - you can see Denali?  Man, I'm jealous.  when I get used to my negative scanner, I'll have to show you some of my pictures from my Denali back country adventure - we had astonishing weather and the mountain was out for 4 of the 5 days we were backpacking.

I know there are vehicles named after these fantastic places, but I think of the places first and vehicle as an afterthought, if at all.

I like Denali, because it's Alaska and I think it is Inuit - is that right - love Sienna, but that's medieval Italy and saint's relics and the Pallio - not sure it connects with an Eskie.  There are glacier names and island names...Kiska?  I like Kenai, too.  Matanuska.  Maybe too much of a mouthful.  Chitna.  But Chena is prettier. There's Nenana (a river and glacier).
