Talus visit...updated...

I am so so happy to hear your boy is doing well. It lifted my spirits to read that.

I'm thrilled Talus is so well!  Will continue to keep him in my thoughts.

I just have this picture of our Tally Man in a patchwork belly sweater.  Nothing too girly, mostly browns, blacks & maybe some nice greens.
 
Maria, I'm soo happy to hear that our big boy is doing so well.  Please give him some kisses & skritches from me.  Also you & Timothy have to do me a favor.  Go for a walk together or do something that restores YOU.  You 2 have been going through alot lately & you need to take care of yourselves too.  You can take a little time for yourselves.  We'll still be here praying for the Tally Man & our doggie angels are still looking out for him.

I know I'm not around much, Maria.  But, I read about Talus yesterday and lit a candle for him.  You all are in my thoughts and prayers.

How are you tonight

Talus is doing well today...my husband and mother-in-law went to visit him today...
I had to work....
He's eating okay, Timothy made him stew today, liver, beef, potatoes and carrots..

His pre-op chest tube came out....great news....this is the one they put in wednesday, it had no fluid coming out of it so they took it out....
His other chest tube is still in, the one from during the surgery....it is still producing a little fluid, but the vet is happy with the amount being drained....
they are doing a tryglycerite?!!? count to find out how much is chyle and how much is post-op fluid.....
He is still in ICU and will be there  at least until this last chest tube is taken out....
Then we have to worry about his stitches and some post-op healing....

He has a fan club.....there are 8 student techs/vets who have been doing rounds and emergency stuff and Dr. Annie, who peek in on him constantly and say:
"Hi Handsome, Hi Buddy, Hi Talus...."
He's starting to be his old self again.....slowly but surely....

Tim and I have been throwing our nervous energy into work....
I've been working long hours getting ready for christmas set-up and Timothy
is almost finished renovating the upstairs living room....
we want to spruce up the house so we can sell and move up north.....
We want to get some acreage so Talus can run around all day and be safe and happy......

We're actually going to go out for dinner tonite with some good friends....
They, as all well as all of you, have been very concerned for Talus and for us...

Talus, your daily progress makes me happy - everyone is so proud of you!  You deserve all the stew, treats, hugs and kisses in the world!
 
Maria, you and Timothy are being incredibly strong, too.  I don't know how you're finding the willpower to work, remodel, etc.  I'd be a wreck, just curled up in tears.  A dinner out with friends will be a welcome relief.  I remember after Tonka died, our neighbors invited us over for dinner about 5 days later.  I wasn't in the mood at all, but once we were there, it was a nice evening, and we even laughed a little.  Diversions are helpful when we're so worried about something.  Here's to the start of a new week with a little less anxiety than last week at this time!

Thanks Talus for the kisses. Glad to hear he is getting better with each passing day and happy to here he has one chest tube out. Thoughts and prayers are coming to you.
