    Talus visit...updated...

    Hi everyone....
First of all, Talus sends kisses and smooches and licks to all his forum friends....
I got enough of them for everyone.....and then some...
    He's doing very well today....
He got a funky haircut again and a foot long patch of stitches....
I think I have to have my friend Cass knit him a belly warmer for the winter walks...
The attending vet said he's doing very well, he was up and about 4 hours after the surgery and they were quite surprised by that....
He still has two chest tubes in him to drain any fluid, but the fluid has diminished to almost nothing today....they might take out one of his chest tubes tomorrow....
We brought him some dinner, (he's so skinny)....and he's nibbling at it....again, surprising the vets that he's eating okay....our specialist called from home today and checked up on our visit....
He's still in I.C.U. so we just have to wait until he's strong enough....
It's probably going to be a week, at least, before he comes home...again it all depends on the fluid....
All his doctors and surgeons are very optimistic, they say he's strong and a fighter....
I say he's got a ton of people who love him and care for him and want to see him get better....
Again, thanks to all of you for your support....you are all very special to us...

Aww I bet he'll be a trend setter w/ that new 'do. [;)] Glad to hear that he's surprising the docs - that's what all the powerful Idog vibes will do for ya!

Thanks for the update! I'm so glad to hear that Talus is beating the odds and doing even better than they expected. He does sound like a fighter. I think he knows how much his parents love him and all of our prayers and well wishes seem to be helping too! [:)] He really is lucky to have such great parents.

Such good news that we're so glad to hear. I don't know much about Talus being relatively new here, but I do know that he's an incredible boy. Here's wishing him a continued speedy recovery. I've been glued to the forum for the last days waiting for updates.

Oh, wow, that's great that he's eating and doing so well already.  I wasn't expecting that considering how serious they said this surgery was.  So, that's really great Maria.  Boy, you and Tim must be exhausted.  Try to get some rest.

I'm so glad that sweet boy is doing well!

We should all get together and send Talus a couple of doggy sweaters, in SuperSize. How big is he, Maria? I bet we could find something suitable...

So good too see that he is doing good! I knew he would make it  out alright. Just let him know not too scare us like that again!!!  If there is anything that I can do let me know :)  So happy to hear he is feeling a little bit better!!!! ((hugs)))))

Maria I just want to say how relieved I am that he's doing so well.  I know I'm not alone when I say that Talus has been on my mind and has been getting alot of good healing vibes these past few days.  Give him a big hug from the red dogs, the cat (who is still hiding but sending good vibes from under the bed) and from me, who is sitting here bleary eyed and typing instead of sleeping.

Just for once I wanna scoop my two dogs and *I* get to say RAH TALUS!!!!!!!

This is so great to hear.  Billy's keeping track in his own special way.  We never hear from Kee Shu but she LOVES big dogs (this is the old lady peke who's gonna 'stay').  It cracks me up -- everywhere we go she finds the BIGGEST male and makes cow eyes at him.  The dogs look down at her like "um ... if I could SEE you I'd probably understand but man, you're a long way down!!!"  But TRUST ME -- if Kee could see Talus in person she'd be he nurse in a heartbeat!!  She'd be his very own one-peke cheering section!!

Get better Talus!!!  BIG good thots and prayers from here!

We've been out all evening and just got home, so I had to check for any updates from you, Maria.  I'm SOOOOO glad to hear that you found Talus in such good shape when you visited him.  Boy, I would've loved to have been there to see how he reacted when he saw you guys!  I'll bet seeing you both will help his recovery make a huge step of progress -- the emotional effect of some love and attention (and special food) from Mom and Dad will be as beneficial as anything medical they're doing for him.

I know he's not out of the woods until he's out of ICU and at home, but each report you give us has been a good one, so we'll just keep our vigil for Talus going as many days as it takes.  I hope you're both feeling more able to get some rest and relax just a tiny bit.  Good boy Talus!  You're a trooper!!

Yay Talus!  You just keep beating odds and surprising your docs - show them a thing or two.

The first thing I did yesterday was check for an update and here I am again at 0630 on Sunday doing the same.  I opened my eyes and thought "geez, I hope Talus is doing better today, I need to check."

    T-man, you're the bomb!
