    YIPPPEEEE!  Good boy Talus.

I'm thrilled to hear of the continued positive progress your boy is making. He's had a lot of people praying for him. Keep it up, Big Guy! [:)]

Maggie wanted to tell Talus that, while recovery is hard work, the look on your peoples' faces when you do something you haven't been able to for a while (like jump over agility tunnels) is wonderful. She thinks you should get better soon so you can put lots of those looks on your peoples' faces. [:D]

I say "Yay Talus!" Glad to hear you have a fan club at the vets! [:)]

Maria -- how did Billy KNOW I was reading about Talus?  He came out of the other room for his update!! Sheesh!!!

One of the things I KNOW helped Billy was he had a similar "fan club" -- when the dog is personable and likes people, then YOUR dog is getting better care because he's well liked.  This soooooooo works to your advantage.  THAT is a big huge wonderful deal.

Billy had all of ICU falling all over to give him his yogurt (as a probiotic) -- everbuddy thot giving Billy Rockin Raspberry was a fun thing to do!!

Then I was sending faxes up to him (remember Gainesville was like 2 1/2 hours away for us) -- so I'd cut out posts and string them together in Word, and fax them up and his student READ them to him.  Yes, truly he did -- but everyone got SO into the spirit of keeping Billy encouraged and I made it 'easy' because I gave them something to 'do' that was FUN.  He had all the techs loving to read his "mail" to him.  HE loved hearing his name.

These things you are doing for Talus -- Maria these are the things that ARE making the difference.  Don't stop.  DO IT.  Tell Talus Aunt Callie and Billy and Luna and Kee Shu send their love.  (and tell Timothy he gets this Month's "BESTEST husband" award too!!!

DO take time for yourselves -- it's tough and there's a pressure to all of this that I can SO heartily appreciate.  Maria if I can help in any way, my shoulder is here!!!

Callie, when Talus was in emerg. in august, we printed all of the forum emails for him and read them to him....we've done the same thing this time...
His "fan club" at the VEC is always amazed at how much we tell him and talk to him and send him kisses from each and everyone of you....I literally sit there for 10 minutes and say this one if from Billy, and this one is from Luna, and this one is from Kee Shu, and this one is from Bailey and this one is from Maggie and this one is from Blue, etc etc etc....
Sometimes I think they think I'm crazy, but Talus loves it and that's all that matters....
I've been burying myself into work because it's better than sitting at home and crying, if I felt like crying I would just go in the office and let it out.....
My boss has been very supportive, he's given me half days off so I can go spend time with Talus....
    It's pretty amazing....
Anyway, I have to go make Talus his lunch and take it down to the clinic.....
Thank you so much for your support Callie....

Maria, you can tell Talus that I'm sending him loves and hugs and Sofia is, too! I'm so glad he's getting better!

I came looking for a Talus update.  It's great to hear he's still doing well.  I'll bet you can't wait until he gets home!
    • Gold Top Dog
Yeah Talus!  Glad to hear you are doing so well!  When you have time Maria post some measurements - I am sure we could come up with some "belly-warmers" for him to wear when out in the snow.  I have some doggie fleece material to make a blanket from but I am sure it could be converted to a 'doggie poncho'.  Might not be the most stylish but would get the job done!

Tally, I came here at least 50 times to see how you were doing. I'm so glad you are ok.

" Hey Tal, Big Guy, this is Brando, hurry up and get better, you and me we can go to the photo section and check out some of the hot chicks."
"Talus, this is Trixie ;pay no attention to short legs. He barely makes it to anyone's ankle. But Debbie did tape a picture of you in my vari-kennel, she said it was so we could think of you and pray, well praying is the last thing on my mind big boy, I put it up on the ceiling of my crate. I've never done that before, Talus I don't want you to think that I do that w/just every dog I see.Hurry up and get better so you can come home. "

"Well Billy, I think your mama needs to redecorate your crate, a little piece of cardboard will do it. This is why I am the Queen."
    • Gold Top Dog
Talus - Love that face. (incredible)

I am so happy to here that the surgery went well and you are on the mend.

We will continue to pray for you to have a speedy recovery so you can go home where you are so loved & needed.

To Taluss Mom and Dad - may God be with you each and everyday to give you what you need to get you through this terrible time in your life. Talus is so lucky to have you as you are so lucky to have him.

    I love a happy ending.

    God bless all of you.

I'm so glad the big man is doing so well. It's never fun to be in the hospital away from those you love, so that's great that you and your husband are reading all of our i-dog shout outs to him.

Get well soon Talus. We can't wait to see more of your handsome face on these boards soon! [sm=yawn.gif][sm=yawn.gif][sm=yawn.gif]
