What is the one thing about your dog...

I love how loving he is. He loves to cuddle, snuggle, nuzzle. If I'm sitting on the couch watching tv or reading and he needs some love, he'll sit beside me and put his face right in mine, so I can nuzzle his cheek. Then he'll move in closer so I can nuzzle his neck. [:)] He's so funny. He loves the love. At night he sleeps in our bed, under the covers, all snuggled up to me. He's my fuzzy hot water bottle.

Winnie loves to spend 15 minutes playing with her kibble in the morning.  She'll take a piece, toss it halfway across the kitchen, chase it down, bat at it with her paws and send it in another direction, toss it again and finally eat it.  Then she starts over with another piece.

To be honest... EVERYTHING![:)]  Just the thought of her sweet little face.  Unexplicable.

What makes me smile are the weird noises she makes when she wants food..it's hard to describe over the internet..kinda of like a "ar-rar-ra!" in the cutest tone ever.

I love the way he's so excited when I come home from work, the way her tail bangs into everything, bruises my legs and she never stops wagging her entire body.  The way that their eyes light up as they sprint and nobody can keep up with them.  The look of contentment when they are sleeping.  The way that every hair even tenses up when they spot a squirrel.

I just love that dogs live in the moment and they are happy for even the littlest thing:  Throw them a papertowel cardboard roll and they act like it's the greatest thing on earth.  Why can't humans be like that?  Why can't we love unconditionally, bark before we bite, celebrate life with every breath we take?

That's what I like about my Xerxes, Gaia, and our feline pack member Dodo: They celebrate life with every breath and make me realize that the world isn't going to stop if I take them out for a walk instead of vacuuming.

Very well said.  I wish I could be more like my Romeo, but I have to worry about everything, even before it happens.  I bet you Romeo is thinking why can't she just relax?

I like the stories, I can visualize each dog, I am still wearing a grin on my face, which I needed it today.

Thanks for the stories, more please, more!

There were so many things that Tonka did that made us smile, it's hard to pick just one.  But something that always made me stop what I doing and instantly go to him was when he'd roll over on his back, with his back legs spread-eagled and front paws kind of "hooked" at his chest.  His jowls would flop towards the ground and all his facial skin and wrinkles would drop with gravity, too.  His teeth would all be visible and his eyes scrunched under all the folds of skin.  To look at his face like that would crack me up!  I had to ;put my head upside-down on the ground too, with my nose to his nose -- if that makes sense -- to get the best view.  I'd have to crouch over him in a weird way and do a false headstand, but the funny shape his face made all squished and flopped was indescribable.  It kind of looked like a crocodile.  Once he was relaxed like that, I could scratch his belly for a long, long time!

Wow, good question.  I just love Grady's lust for life.  He's a constant reminder to take is easy.  When I'm starting to get stressed out, I just think of his utter happiness & goofy expressions & smile.

Aspen just is a plop hound.  He doesn't just sit, he plops.  He doesn't turn around 3 times before laying down he plops.

I always smile thinking of how Scout "buries" bones in our house: She ever-so-carefully places it in a corner, and then uses her nose to push imaginary dirt on top. It takes about 2 minutes to fully complete. She's so thorough!

hehehe, Romeo does that too.  He looks so cute, so focused. He usually " buries" under the covers in his bed, he will start pulling with his teeth and start pushing with his nose until satisfied, if he notices someone looking he stops and gives you the most innocent look.  Sometimes he uses his crate as the "burial site"  he pulls with all his might his mattress pad which has bolsters around and then tries to cover with his nose, when he finds that too hard he grabs a pillow and trhows it on top or better yet lays down on top of his treasure. Drew was quite a character but the funniest thing he did....

He'd sit and stare out the front door sitting on the wood floor while we read the newspaper. Occasionally he would poot and then turn his head and look at his butt to see where the sound came from.

It always makes me smile when I think of how excited Odin is when I get home. He runs around in circles like a crazy man then flops down in front of me and wiggles his tail nonstop for about 5 minutes. Makes me feel very loved!

And what makes me smile about Loki is when he wants his butt scratched. He backs up into me, turns to look at me and puts his ears down almost sheepishly like. It looks like he's saying "hey, uh, mom, could you please rub my butt?" And when I do, he closes his eyes and look so happy.
