What kind of things do you hate that irresponsible dog owners do?

    OOO OOO and this one.....

wanting to try clothes on their dog AFTER a bath!

I hate it when parents let their incapable children walk there dogs

    I hate flexi-leashes

I hate it when people over feed their animals

I hate it when people take their people aggressive dogs out in public and then insult you when their dog snaps at you - "Oh, there's just certain people he/she doesn't like."

I hate it when people take their dog aggressive dog to the dog park and then say "he's okay as long as he's in charge." Ha! I have a terrier, dumb @ss.

I hate it when people don't do any research before they buy a dog. They are also the same type of people who buy from pet stores and the same type of people who abondon their dogs because "it didn't work out."

I hate it when people feed sugar, salt, and bad preservative loaded foods because "the dog likes it." Even if you can't afford a good food, there are cheap foods out there without sugar, salt, and bad preservatives and usually less expensive than the sugar loaded foods I'm thinking of. They are the same type of people who come into the pet supplies store I used to work at and ask you why their dog is itchy or pooping too much and then ignore you when you say it's the food, because "the dog likes it sooo much."

And that's why I love i-doggers. For the most part, we are all responsible dog owners.

    Where do I start?

    1. People who let their dogs off leash in an on leash area and the dog has zero recall.

    2. People who allow their dogs to poop on other peoples property/public property and do not clean up after them.

    3. People who do not know how to use a flexi lead correctly or they use them at the wrong place.

    4. People who pet my dogs without asking permission first.

    5. People who have not taught their children not to run up to a strange dog and pet it without asking permission first.

    6. People who ask if I want to breed my dog with theirs so we can make a lot of money.

    7. People who own and breed "Rockwilders", "Datsuns", "Chihoohoos", "Shitsus", "Germen Shepards", "Bichon Freezes", "Miniature Dobermans", "Miniature Collies" and anything "teacup".

    8. People who buy dogs only to keep them outside and can't wonder why for the life of them the dog acts like a holy terror when it's brought inside for a whole 5 minutes or why it acts aggressive towards anyone that comes near it.

    9. People who buy Chihuahua's, Yorkie's, Pom's or any toy breed so they can stick it in a bag and carry it around like it's an accessory because they saw Paris Hilton doing it. If Paris Hilton is your role model, you have very low aspirations.

    10. Last but not least, people who come up to me and tell me that they just love my Boston Terriers because they've owned or always wanted to own a "Pug", "French Bulldog", "Bulldog", "Pit Bull", "Jack/Parson Russell Terrier", "Boxer", "Great Dane" etc... [:D]

I hate it when people are mean to dogs and animals in any way. When they leave them on a short leash in a yard all day or in a crate all day, when they abuse them physically and mentally for the lack of their training abilites, and when they purposely make their dogs vicious attack dogs. I mean nothing wrong with watchdogs, but I think to make your dog attack unprovoked is very irresponsible. I had a neighbor with a toy dog that used to come over to our property and attack us for no reason. He used to even run across the street and terrorize people and the neighbors would do nothing. I think they thought it was funny. It's ashame that some people get to own animals because I think they are a privledge and the most precious gifts.

P.S.- Oh yes! The pooping on other's property w/o cleaning up. How could I forget that one. We have people around here who walk their dogs and constantly stop at our house to let their dogs poop(there are no sidewalks here). They don't want to clean it up in their yard and because we're renovating, I think they think it will blend in or something. Oh the shame of it all!

Yeah, I hate all of that, too.  I don't neccesarily hate Flexi leashes, but I hate when people use them incorrectly.

If I were Queen of the World, I'd get rid of all felxi-leashes and dog doors. People just can't seem to use either tool properly, so sorry, they've all got to go! I may have a barky dog, but at least I'm able to control when and under what circumstances he can go outside. A 3 AM barkfest? Not going to happen. But there are people around me with dog doors and I know who exactly does because I can hear their dogs outside barking every time a car drives by no matter what the hour.  The flexi-leahses are able to be properly used by such a small segment of the dog owning population (apparently) that I've just developed a major hate on for them.

Amen. I don't even think she's attractive. Way too skinny, all she has going for her is a ton of money. Some guys like the money but I have to look at myself in the mirror every morning.

My number one beef is people who let their dogs run loose in spite of an ordinance, weirdly worded, against it. Ours is called "domestic animal at large." If your pet leaves your property line without your express consent or control, it is at large. If the police don't catch it at large, you have to give up a day to file charges yourself against the owner. And I'm not talking mutts. Pekinese, Jack Russel Terrier, Cocker Spaniel, breeds that cost money. There's a few responsible owners in town. A lady has two Shih Tzus and I see her working on obedience as they walk. A few others walk their dogs on leashes. But it irks me the people who spent major money on renovations and still leave the yard with an escape route. Or plain and simple let them out the front door in spite of having a fenced yard. Because they are too lazy to walk the dog, so they'll just let him or her go out and run in traffic for a while to burn off that energy. Those are the people that cursed me for using a curseword when their JRT was loose, showed dominant aggression stance and then came after us, and they couldn't bother to control their dog. And they still let it run loose. Sad thing is, they probably won't get a clue when that dog will eventually run across the state highway behind their house and get la machined by a beer truck.

    Besides abuse, I hate....

    1) When people get a dog and leave him/her in a crate for more time than they're out
    2) How people assume that if you want a purebred you have to buy one
    3) How people think "all shelter dogs have issues" (not true at all)
    4) When people think the Gentle Leader is a muzzle
    5) When people don't spay or neuter their pets because they think it will "take away their manhood/ womanhood" or "want to get their dog laid"
    6) When people who can afford better feed crappy food

I think the thing I hate most is when people act like their dogs are able to think/reason like a person and then smack the dog or yell at him for doing something *wrong* - and the poor dog doesn't have a clue. When Max was just a pup he snagged a bag of paper table napkins off a bench in the kitchen and took it out back and papered the entire back yard.  I found it the next morning - my fault for leaving the napkins where he could get them.  On our walk, I stopped to talk to a friend and I was telling her this, and another friend joined us.  The other friend actually asked my why I was taking him for a walk.  I failed to see any connection and she said "Well, he was naughty and now you're rewarding him with a walk." Ummm. Did she really think a puppy was going to remember that he took napkins outside - or know that it was *naughty*- or in any way connect that up with not going for a walk? I do want to make a little comment about doggy doors because someone just mentioned them in a previous post.  We used to have a dog that was *barky* and I just put him out to pee before I went to bed, then locked the door.  He didn't get out until I let him out the next morning.  Max is not a barker, so I can leave the door unlocked all night for him. That just depends on the dog.

I dispise people who chain their dogs and just leave them outdoors all the time.

I dispise backyard breeders (who are also owners)

I dispise people who stereotype my breed of choice without having any knowledge about them

I dispise people who are cruel to, abuse, or neglect their dogs

I have so much that I can say but I'll just stick to those three for now.

    I hate it when people...
    - pet my dog without asking.
    - own certain breeds to create an image for themselves. (ie Rotties to be "tough", Chihuahuas to be "rich", etc.)
    - leave their dogs chained/caged all the time.
    - don't do research and end up neglecting/dumping their dog.
    - get sick of their dog after it grows out of the puppy stage.
    - don't train their dogs to behave.
    - don't have their dogs neutered because it will make their dog "less of a man".
    - scrimp on vet costs but can afford to eat dinner at a fancy restaurant/buy their kid a new toy/go shopping.
    - say "It's just a dog!"

Again, when the irresponsibility of the owners leads to the dog paying the price.

Went over yesterday to check on our little stray friend and take him some food.....the run next to his contained TWO new additions....two pitties.  They had county license tags on, their nails had been recently clipped and they appeared to be well taken care of....BUT, there they were, in the county stray center.  This is NOT a posh facility.  Its outside runs covered with tarps and pieces of plywood attached to the sides to cut down on the wind.  And of course, when the police bring a dog in after the staff has been there to feed and tend, they get NOTHING in the way of food, straw for bedding, nothing......so those two dogs could go 24 hours without a bite of food....except I slipped them a little since our little friend HAD been fed......

The little beagle who came in also Friday nite, is still there...she has a county tag as well.  Our little guy, who the owner is known....and the two pitties......all spending some less than pleasant time in the county lock up because owners can't do their jobs.

Meilani's list is a good one.....I don't have a yard that is accessible to others since I'm so far out in the boonies, and anything I find in the yard is likely going to have been left by a wild critter.  [:(]
